Also it’s called ‘Ford week’ as there’s a lot of Fords, but apart from 1 or 2 of them, they aren’t entirely new, so does that mean all hope for Fords like the MK1 Escort is gone? Pleased we have the Zakspeed Capri, just a shame we couldn’t of gotten the road going version as well (MK3 Capri).
It’s seems greedy wanting more Ford, when we have so many lol, but I’m from the UK, so the American Fords don’t do much for me. I like the car list so far though, a lot of the cars from Forza 4 are returning and they really don’t seem to be leaving out any cars from FH2 and FM5, at least I can own as many Capri RS3100s as I like now haha.
A ram runner!?! what is this madness anyways Mostly staples or returning Horizon or FM4 cars, surprised but pleased to see the Chevy SS mainly due to it being so similar to the Holden.
All the fords are welcome and glad to see the country squire back otherwise mostly staples an returning DLC the only car I didn’t like was the 308 GTi no one drives that
Hopefully the carlton and daytona and VW will be announced soon
ALso loving both Capris I love that PCARs has simply resulted in Forza taking all their cars or kind of cars into their game in response
You know, I would say that is pretty likely though I had never really considered that. Sunset being based on Daytona was too obvious to miss but this required more thought to catch. Either way, Lime Rock is an awesome track and I’m excited to see it added.
I thought the same thing. The article described “rolling hills and dales”, turns with “complex camber and radii” and ‘deceptively fast’ turns. The only thing different is they mention the “track width is utterly unforgiving”. Unforgiving width makes me think of Nürburgring. I always thought Maple Valley’s width was forgiving.
Either way, excited to see a new track but still hoping for Maple Valley
Then I’m sure we can find a fit for the Ram Runner and Bronco!
At any rate, on to this week’s announcements.
A track to go WITH the cars? Unreal! Lime Rock is such a beauty of a classic, too. I’m really liking what they’re doing–y’know, straying away from just the “world’s most popular tracks” to something just a little more eclectic. I dunno know why; for some reason, when I think of tracks like Watkins Glen and Lime Rock, I think of kind of a classic/golden era of racing, when drivers rolled up their sleeves and got their hands in the dirt (figuratively speaking), HANS devices be darned. You know what I mean; those pictures of drivers emerging from their cars, lifting their goggles up and looking like raccoons because everything 'round their goggles was caked in grease. THOSE days. While of course I know they didn’t, I feel like those things only happened at the off-Broadway tracks like WG and LRP.
Right. The cars.
The Capri? FANTASTIC. I’d only eve heard about it after it came as part of that Classic DLC for Shift 2, and I was smitten. So glad to see it here; love the old touring cars and Group B/C racers, so I’m hoping this is a sign of things to come. I mean, could you imagine the showdowns with the IMSA Quattro (which I think will be in the game, due to it being in FM5 and due to the fact that it’s been said we’d be getting every model seen in FM5)? Sweet.
And yeah, that’s a lot of Fords, but it’s to be expected considering the partnership. I guess I’m just surprised they did this Ford dump so early on in the reveals; what is it? Week 3 of Forza Garage, or something? Anyway. Great to see stuff like the RS200, XR2, Capri 3100 (which I haven’t yet had the pleasure of piloting), and the 300 SLR is BACK!!! I know what I’m going to be spending my bonus credits on…
I love Lime Rock Park too, however I’m a little suprised they included it in the game, especially considering the hugely requested tracks like Monza, Monaco and Circuit De Americas haven’t made it yet and I think this is going to upset a lot of people if they have sacraficed Lime Rock for those tracks, but I’m not upset, in fact I’m extreemly happy! Sure Circuit De Americas is one of my favourite tracks but I’m happy that turn 10 are going for more diversity in the track list this time. I consider Lime Rock more of a clasic race track and I think we need more obscure but great tracks like Lime Rock. I don’t know why but I think it has a similar feel to Road America and Road America is my favourite all-time tracks! I’m loving the whole track list so far and it just makes me super hyped to see the next reveals because, I can’t guess what so ever what they’ll be and I like it that way. The car list I love! Slowly but surely, I think this i becoming one of the best Forza’s yet and once again it’s because of the diversity! Crazy track-day cars like the radical and the Donkervoort to pick-ups like the Ram Runner, it’s great! And then… theres the MC12!!! Thank You Turn 10! A legendary Car and one of my favourites. I’m the happiest man in the world right now now all I need is the BMW Z8 then my dream has come true! But what struck me the most were the ford’s, it wasn’t the mass amounts of them that hit me but it was that most of them are old classic cars which is great because it shows that turn 10 aren’t overlooking the classic car community whis is great. All in all, a pretty damn good reveal!
I know what you mean, but back then, Watkins Glenn and Lime Rock Park were very much on Broadway. Lime Rock Park was one of the premiere sports car venues in the country, probably second to only Watkins Glen. And to say Watkins Glen was “on Broadway” is probably an understatement. It hosted the USGP for 20 years and was considered one of the better tracks in the world.
I guess what I was saying is that tracks like RA, Road Atlanta, Laguna Seca, Le Mans, Silverstone and so forth have been in so many games for such a long time now, they have become the “on-Broadway” stuff, in the video game sense, anyway. I mean, if you weren’t playing iRacing or one of those other H-to-the-C sims, you probably wouldn’t have seen much of them (Shift 2 deserves mention here, though, as it had some pretty neat stuff, too, including sepia-toned “classic” versions of tracks already in the game–your move, T10). It’s just cool that T10, IMO, really is going the extra mile so far in the track department.
HOLY MOLY, The Zakspeed Capri and Fiesta XR2, my 2 favourite cars announced together?! I am one happy guy right now! Loving the other fords as well, especially the other Capri, Sierra RS500 and 2003 Focus RS (That’s new entirely If i’m correct, FM1 had a Focus SVT but no an RS) The Skyline R33 and RX7 are also good.
I really stoked to see Lime Rock in the game! It’s truly a great race track and some beautiful scenery around it. As for the car list this week, it’s nice to see the King Cobra back in the lineup and of course, the Country Squire. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for the remaining weeks. Sept. 10th can’t get here fast enough.
