Hello guys, after todays patchnotes I just wanted to get this critic off my chest.
I really like Forza Motorsport 7. I love the way the cars feel in this game, the way the throttle and brake is vibrating feels so satisfiying. Also love racing the b-class lately… I like the focus on e-sports. I actually enjoy the carnage of online hoppers… sometimes.
There is so much potential with this game but since launch 6 months ago it is filled with bugs and crashes.
The game in it’s current state is what it should have been since launch performance-wise even though it is still not 100% stable. (Anyone got some more of them pile-ups of cars while loading a new track, so I can’t see the track until it’s to late?)
I am really shocked the way “adressing issues” is handled with this game. Patches only once a month while people who payed over 100 $/€ for the game couldn’t play for months on PC because it crashed all the time, unstable multiplayer, you name it. I know that most of the really “bad stuff” has been fixed but still, there is SO much to change/improve, so I really don’t understand why we, as a community, always need to wait a month to get the game fixed. (Put in Nordschleife in every hopper and I forgive you T10)
In the last couple of years I’ve seen a couple of companies doing more than that to ensure that their product is working properly, if it is free2play or pay2play didn’t matter.
(I personally think companies with a pay2play game should be doing more in terms of “keeping in touch” with the community and ensuring that everything works fine since we payed a lot of money for it but that’s just my 2 cents, you know.)
It felt like they’re working day/night to fix things and which gained them popularity, trust and a loyal fanbase until eternity strikes. Sadly after coming back to Xbox and Forza, I don’t get the same feeling here company-wise but definitely from the community. There are some really great people out there, you guys suffered through all of this, way longer than I have and still, you’re here. Have my respect.
I think most of us can agree, that this year’s car pass has been a bit of a letdown. I don’t have any insight information, so I don’t know what Turn10 is planning with all the SUV’s and Rally-cars but they surely must have something in mind right? We’ll see I guess.
What really saddens me though is that there seems to be little to no interest in adding more to the racing aspect of Forza Motorsport. No new tracks, no/barely updated GT3/GTE(GTLM)/GT4/TCE cars. Especially the lack of GT4 and TCE is what makes me a bit sad with this year’s Forza Motorsport because car- and track-wise there is barely any improvement at all.
I’m a huge fan of endurance racing (WEC,IMSA, 24h Series, you name it) so I guess that’s where my priorities are coming from and the endurance hopper just doesn’t do for me, no tire wear, missing tracks/cars (GIMME MY 'SCHLEIFE T10).
Regarding the update of liveries, it is a step in the right direction. I’m still questioning myself where the addition of customizing windshield are though? Regarding liveries this is one of the most important changes I’m waiting for, together with unlimited liveries/tunes (whoever thought that would be a good idea, I hope you step on lego.)
That’s it I think. As said before, this game is full of potential. Please make use of it. Also Make Nordschleife Great Again. Thank you.
Best regards,
a slighty angered german
