State of Forza Motorsport 7

Hello guys, after todays patchnotes I just wanted to get this critic off my chest.

I really like Forza Motorsport 7. I love the way the cars feel in this game, the way the throttle and brake is vibrating feels so satisfiying. Also love racing the b-class lately… I like the focus on e-sports. I actually enjoy the carnage of online hoppers… sometimes.

There is so much potential with this game but since launch 6 months ago it is filled with bugs and crashes.
The game in it’s current state is what it should have been since launch performance-wise even though it is still not 100% stable. (Anyone got some more of them pile-ups of cars while loading a new track, so I can’t see the track until it’s to late?)

I am really shocked the way “adressing issues” is handled with this game. Patches only once a month while people who payed over 100 $/€ for the game couldn’t play for months on PC because it crashed all the time, unstable multiplayer, you name it. I know that most of the really “bad stuff” has been fixed but still, there is SO much to change/improve, so I really don’t understand why we, as a community, always need to wait a month to get the game fixed. (Put in Nordschleife in every hopper and I forgive you T10)

In the last couple of years I’ve seen a couple of companies doing more than that to ensure that their product is working properly, if it is free2play or pay2play didn’t matter.
(I personally think companies with a pay2play game should be doing more in terms of “keeping in touch” with the community and ensuring that everything works fine since we payed a lot of money for it but that’s just my 2 cents, you know.)
It felt like they’re working day/night to fix things and which gained them popularity, trust and a loyal fanbase until eternity strikes. Sadly after coming back to Xbox and Forza, I don’t get the same feeling here company-wise but definitely from the community. There are some really great people out there, you guys suffered through all of this, way longer than I have and still, you’re here. Have my respect.

I think most of us can agree, that this year’s car pass has been a bit of a letdown. I don’t have any insight information, so I don’t know what Turn10 is planning with all the SUV’s and Rally-cars but they surely must have something in mind right? We’ll see I guess.
What really saddens me though is that there seems to be little to no interest in adding more to the racing aspect of Forza Motorsport. No new tracks, no/barely updated GT3/GTE(GTLM)/GT4/TCE cars. Especially the lack of GT4 and TCE is what makes me a bit sad with this year’s Forza Motorsport because car- and track-wise there is barely any improvement at all.
I’m a huge fan of endurance racing (WEC,IMSA, 24h Series, you name it) so I guess that’s where my priorities are coming from and the endurance hopper just doesn’t do for me, no tire wear, missing tracks/cars (GIMME MY 'SCHLEIFE T10).

Regarding the update of liveries, it is a step in the right direction. I’m still questioning myself where the addition of customizing windshield are though? Regarding liveries this is one of the most important changes I’m waiting for, together with unlimited liveries/tunes (whoever thought that would be a good idea, I hope you step on lego.)

That’s it I think. As said before, this game is full of potential. Please make use of it. Also Make Nordschleife Great Again. Thank you.

Best regards,
a slighty angered german

I guess so. It turned out more like a rant but I tried to be civil. Still I feel like it needs to be adressed rather to much than to less. If Turn10 really wants to know what the community thinks, I will take my time to explain my concerns.

Consider yourself lucky then. I’ve had countless of crashes on the One S, not even wanna talk about the framerate drops. Problems with PC were even worse.

About the wishlist, I am aware of but I didn’t want to open 2 threads and I think wishlists are for cars/tracks only or not?

I do consider myself lucky, I’ve never encountered any of the problems people report on public forums in any games (I believe I make my own luck) . Ok, that’s a bit of a lie, there was a glitch in FH3 where some of the DLC cars weren’t free in-game but I left the whining and whinging to everyone else and got on with enjoying the game and waited for the patch.

I’ve never read the wish list threads so I don’t actually know, but I’m glad the translator thing worked, I wouldn’t have even bothered if your post wasn’t so respectful.

Yeah as I said, you’re very lucky. I’ve driven an private endurance race a couple of weeks ago, a couple of people disconnected during the race, I had a blast battling for half an hour with another person with both of us running out of tires/fuel with 10 mins left to go and 5 minutes before the race ended he got disconected. Unlucky I guess.

Regarding the translator, well. It worked, kinda. (Wishlists have their own threads respectively ~roughly)
I tried to be civil with my criticism here to have a good discussion about topics which involve all/alot of us.

Same here, even on xbox one x as of 2 months still no crashing, disconnected from multiplayer lobbies did happen tho.

I got most issues when using the vinyl editor on my laptop, there the game crashes every 10 minutes!
yet i can do 20min races with at least 16 cars…

There is no point in trying to post about it forza forums are just another pr palace where yoy have to worship the floor forza walks on . forza 1 will always be the best game . we went from xbox to 360 and didnt loose as much as we did 360 to xbox 1 . the devs and board members want to make these games a service to get more cash . we cant even get a decent lap reorder for offline play . they based 70 % of forza in online connectivity since 5 and the game has suffered more each time . they force us to buy random loot box that serve zero purpose . video games are just plain boring now a days but they have so much tech and cost so much money . where does the investment i made in the company go . the game play sucks the structure is gone . there is no enviroment . id like to see some different kinds of races but at this point they can barely handle fixed track races. I doubt we will ever see real open world style rally races . even races that teach people about racing history . they don’t even have monte carlo . forza is such a hollow turd of a game but hey they got dynamic weather that should have been in the game 6 years ago and they got wing wiggle . the game is nice to play but there still is very little to do besides get cars to race online .

You do know the GT4 class consists of basically stripped down, showroom-spec cars, right? You can easily build one from the many GT4 cars available in Forza 7. In fact, barring the Aston Martin V8 Vantage and the Ginetta G55, the game has them all (M3 E92, M4 GTS, Shelby GT350R, Porsche Cayman GT4, McLaren 570S, Maserati GranTurismo S…).

I’ve heard the Boss 302R in Project CARS is fictional but don’t quote me on that.

I don’t know what “TCE” means (only TCR) but I do partially share your view when it comes to the newest GT cars. I would like to have the 488 GTE and the AMG GT3, myself, but the 458 GTE and the SLS GT3 are good enough for now. The 650S is actually the same car as the 12C and McLaren offered conversion kits to teams in the past, so while it would’ve been a good addition to make the roster more up to date it also doesn’t add anything new when it comes to physics, in fact they could use the same physics of the 12C for the 650S and people wouldn’t even notice.

It’s also worth noting that they DID add quite a few modern GT cars lately, namely the newest 991 RSR, the M6 GTLM (which serves dual purpose as GTLM and GT3 as you can build it both with and without restrictor and it fits homologation either way) and the long overdue V12 Vantage GT3. Personally I’d much rather see them add the new DPi cars than new GTs, though, as the DPi class is growing and seems to be favored by quite a few manufacturers, while LMP1 is all but dead.

A Nords hopper would be ace but people are too chicken to drive it. Especially in the rain.

Jeez, someone complaining about a company who bothers to release patches every month!

If only those patches wouldn’t bring new issues every single time (I’m not exaggerating) one gets released (usually doesn’t even fix half of the issues it is supposed to fix). At this point complaining is healthy, because I doubt it can get any worse - so it can only get better.
