FM 7 - good work, thanks T10

Hi,

playing FM since FM3 (only skipped FH3). Bought FM7 two days ago. Some single player, some lobby racing. My impression so far - very well done.

  • Suzuka, Mugello and Maple Valley are back! yeahhh
  • weather and time of day effects looking great, rainy track conditions improved over FM6
  • “yellow flag” warning sign in multiplayer - saved me already from some surprises
  • I like the homologation system for tuning parts

After not playing FM (or any other racing game for around a year) I have a lot of fun again.

yes, some bugs, but that’s usual for a new published game. They will resolve over time.

Thanks for a refreshing post.

I don’t inherantly dislike homogulation. in the official lobbies it’s relatively good. in the historic road race lobby alone we have usually 10 different cars running relatively close laps (within a few seconds, driver skill notwithstanding) and I’m not really seeing dominant cars but dominant drivers.

But truth is there is no public lobby, there’s no P-Class lobby, there’s no custom lobby, on top of that there’s no car clubs to rally around. It’s incredibly stripped down and de-functionalized compared with earlier releases and I really feel like the multiplayer appeal is going to sputter and die as a result if they don’t implement some more traditionally used lobbies alongside homogulated hoppers and soon.

My drivatar brought in 19,000 credits release day of FM7 VIP/Ultimate.
then 8000.
then barely 3000.

Same story with FM7 standard’s release date.
Highly indicative of people trying multiplayer once, being gobstruck by how barren and uncustomizable and unlike what most veterans of the series honestly expected or desired and spending their time elsewhere.

I’m not saying it’s an unforgivable horrible product, but it’s a horrible release of a forza with tremendous potential.
I’m trying to enjoy it for what it is, currently, and trying to steer myself away from the discouraging bugs and nearly non existant multiplayer options.

Loving it as well , driving feels great

Agreed. Despite the bugs, omssions and odd design decisions the game is still a lot of fun to play.

The handling model is a big improvement over Forza Motorsport 6.
The Single Player Career structure is very well-done and makes good use of the game’s massive and diverse car list.
It’s still a good game to “pick up and play” without having to tinker with settings.
Homologation is a brave design choice but ultimately has a lot of potential.

Are there things I am not happy with? Sure.
Are there things I am disappointed won’t be in this game? Sure.

But regardless of all that the game does enough good things to make me want to play it for a long time.

oh the irony, of this comment… .LMAO

homologation, is the biggest monkey wrench in tuning ever conceived… i’ve litterally boycotted uploading tunes until they fix this, otherwise i intend to go back to the last real forza game for my multiplayer racing needs… forza 7 in intolerably lacking in its multiplayer attraction for me… if i had unknown about homologation, i’ve have saved myself the cost of the game entirely… because the single player is also screwed over for the same reason… but since i can’t get a refund, i’m getting the damned achievements (then “forza” 7 can collect dust for all i care) and griping about the game until they make this right, or until i write off the forza series entirely.

its great that you like it but virtually every other racing game already had it… forza was unique… that uniqueness has been utterly and totally replaced/destoyed by homologation… what game are the backbone forza players (that have been playing since FM1) going to play now since the majority of us are turning our backs on forza 7 (the best turn 10 can hope for is we go back to forza 6), and hoping turn 10 gets the message, which i doubting they will… their finger is clearly somewhere, buts it not on the pulse of the gamers.

good luck with that homologation tuning… let us know how you like not being able to adjust the gears, and brakes on most non-professional class cars for the first time in forza… lol
