After the October patch the Forza 6 in-game sound levels have become somewhat worse than before. After the patch I’ve noticed the following:
- Menu music is quieter than before
- Narrator voices are louder
- Own car sound is louder, but…
- …opponent cars have almost no sound
- Racing in the rain makes almost no noise (water, rain, puddles etc.)
- No ambient noises whatsoever
Although I doubt this is a bug in the traditional sense, and I think it was deliberate, I don’t think the new sound levels are good. During the race I can’t hear anything besides my own car, I have barely any audible feedback from the tyres (especially during rain) and the opponents. It’s like racing on mute.
It would be so much better if we got sliders for all audio levels like in Forza 3/4. So we could adjust these settings to our liking. Right now the game has no racing atmosphere at all.

that announcer is louder than race cars, its super annoying to be in the menu.

And just to clarify, maybe this helps the devs: I’m using a 2.1 sound System which sounded perfect before. In my view the only thing that should have been done is to make the opponent cars a little bit more quiet. Ambient sounds should have remained the same. This mainly applies to the external camera views. Cockpit view is unaffected, but all other views are affected by this, and external cameras are the worst in my experience.
Same problem here, the announcer is way louder than before as well.
Common T10, is it really that hard to give us some sliders for all the sohnds…
I think the announcer has gotten a bit louder, though I’m not detecting the other level changes as you’ve pointed out. I’m also on a 2.1 system, though it’s an 8-speaker setup.
Meh, don’t know what the cause could be. Will do some races and get back to you OP. Hang in there!
