Son of a Glitch Drivatars!

Why do the game mechanics not penalize Drivatars for skipping checkpoints?

Sorry, but this really rankles me. I appreciate Horizon 2 has no concept of a dirty lap, and that’s totally fine with me, because of the shortcutting ands open-world nature of the game, but as there are very few ‘rules’ why - still - are the Drivatars still not playing by them six months later? The drivers they’re based on were most certainly penalized when they didn’t jink for the checkpoint when they played.

Its been talked about before and probably wont get fixed.

Sad but true.

I tend to avoid races where they do this as it’s only a few.

This bugs me also! Although I wouldn’t expect turn10 to change it this late down the line. Hopefully though if they make any other games using this checkpoint system this won’t occur!

I can guarantee you Turn 10 will never fix this issue, mainly because it’s not their game. Playground Games is the developer of all Horizon games.

Yes, I’m that guy. : P

Considering that everything else runs through Turn10 for the game - from licensing, to the physics engine, the car modeling, and pretty much everything outside of partial development - it’s a little bit their responsibility. Turn10 operates these here forums, not playground games, Turn10 reads these forums and is responsible for selecting those who moderate said forums, so you’d think that it would be Turn10 who read these complaints and bugs with the game and then pass them on to Playground games for correction, right?

Yes, coding wise (and that’s all this really is, is a poor coding issue) Playground Games will be fixing this but only if Turn10 tells them to.

Don’t be that guy.

You’re taking what I said way too seriously, I was just trying to make a cheap joke. But alright, I’ll make a proper post…

Yes, Turn 10 and PG both need to get their act together and fix their broken games. But will they? No, probably not. Will a few dozen people complaining on community forums get them to fix the game? Well, seeing as thousands of people complain on every single one of their FB posts and T10/PG still don’t take notice, the chances are again, very slim.

Doro street race in Casteletto

AVOID

They literally gain 1 second on you through there by cutting a corner… then again even the 60K special drivatars can’t cross country properly in headtohead so it equals out

Yes thats the main one lol, but I play on unbeatable and they’re easy to beat so they need all the help they can get xD

If the game ended the race 30 seconds after someone crosses the finish line the unbeatable AI wouldn’t all be finishing each event so they do need some help. That said, they shouldn’t blatantly ignore the rules.

I know lol.

I find if I’m miles in front I will crash for no reason what so ever. So they can catch up a bit. Now I know why Haha

Solution: Anti-tank landmines on either side of the checkpoint. Way more effective than sticky grass.

Agreed! It works great when I race on GTA V, so I’m sure it’d be just as effective on Forza!

Hell yes. Why haven’t PG hired you yet? :stuck_out_tongue:

Sure, I’m on the unbeatable mode, and the Drivatars seem to skip more and more the checkpoints; the worst is, most of the time, I pass in the middle of the checkpoint and get returned, Ben saying over and over <<Oh my God, you missed a checkpoint, you’ll have to lose the race automatically>>, so I restart.

What’s up with that?

Maybe we should place an anti tank landmine outside Ben’s garage?

I did.

Why do you think they used Luda in the FF expansion? Sure, he’s in the movie and everything, but the REAL reason was Ben was being reassembled at a local hospital.

Now Furious 7 makes a lot more sense. Jason Statham doesn’t blow up a hospital because he’s a bad guy, he’s trying to prevent the reconstruction of Ben and everything else just happens to be coincidence. Even the fact that Ben and his brother are in the same hospital…

Simple solution is the drivatars that go wide of the checkpoints should be disqualified, even if they finish before you they’re DQ’d so they can’t ‘win’. But as was already said, this change won’t happen. Find a better line at each check point and you’ll gain tons of ground on them. You can still beat the cheaters on unbeatable without a problem with good driving. Let 'em cheat.
