I’m doing an off road race with muscle cars. Driving the challenger RT. Using a wheel, simulation steering, all assists of except auto transmission and driving line. I feel like I’m driving on Ice and the second I brake or let off the gas, half the field passes me. On top of that, they NEVER spin out, but if I hit a bump on a straight away, my car looses all control and I start floating sideways. Same thing with collisions, they tap me from behind and I’m done, while I can do a textbook pit maneuver to them and they don’t even come off their line? It’s maddening.
Where did it say the current difficulty level of the drivatars on the post? Thank YOU for not reading.
@mac And i’d actually play with the drivatar at unbeatable. Don’t make assumptions based on no evidence. Saying I’m not observant is just wrong. Clearly I wasn’t able to know what level the drivatars are at if he doesn’t state it. Good day. (Y)
I’ve seen Drivatars do all sorts of crazy things like spinning out, hitting walls, etc. What level are you? I have noticed them driving a lot better the higher in level I get and thus they get.
BTW, the reason you are spinning out of control, etc is because you are using simulation steering. It is unforgiving. The Drivatars don’t change based on your settings similar to how if you play online you can play against non-sim players putting you at a disadvantage (or advantage if you are really good).
He told you to turn down the difficulty because if you’re at higher levels the drivatars can make next to no mistakes. But if you want to take an attitude with people trying to help you i’m sure people will just be queueing up to hold your hand through these trying times.
If the drivatars are too hard for you, turn down the difficulty. It’s as simple as that. Really.
My issue is not the skill level of the drivatars . I can beat them fairly easily in road races. My issue is the fact that the laws of physics seem to not apply to them when offroad. Besides, I’m on the second easiest difficulty.
One think that makes me angry about the drivatars is that in some races, they dont pass through some checkpoints. They just cut some corners, miss the checkpoint, some of them by a good margin and keep racing when i need to take a longer way around the corner, so i can at least hit the checkpoint.
Just keep trying. It could be that you just need to get used to that car on that off road course. And maybe tune the car more for off road, if you haven’t already done that. Either way, it SHOULD be tricky to race a muscle car off road.
Maybe turning off the driving line will help you, as it doesn’t always mean it’s the best line to take when you race other cars. No driving line will help you learn faster where to go by checking the environment rather than the coloured line.
I understand what you are getting at. I have noticed that damage does not occur to the drivatars when it is set to simulation nor do the bumps effect them the same way. I assumed that the bumps and stuff was just due to tuning or some other change in the drivatar system.
Mod, no offense, but you seem to help so much in jumping on board with the first few responders, but have you even witnessed the very issue the OP describes? Obviously the first few posters don’t play with the difficulty turned up or they are not very observant, both of which are quite possible.
Thanks for actually reading my post. This guy gets it. I finally beat it, you have to be flawless and a bit lucky. Seems odd on such a low drivatar difficulty.
Poster, yes I have noticed, thanks. I play with the drivatar set at pro and highly skilled. I know that if you screw up just a little they will fly right by you most of the time. They can hit you and BAM your out of there. Hit them and same thing, they wreck you and they recover fast. It’s a higher difficulty, so yea it’s going to be harder. As for my post above I was pointing out that the OP was being rather rude and sarcastic to others who were simply trying to offer suggestions. If you are not willing to listen to other people when you ask a question then don’t ask on a public forum.
