Sometimes the game reverts back to previous state. How to avoid?

Three times now, I’ve launched the game to find the progress I’ve made isn’t there. For example, last night I played through the Autumn playlist and unlocked the Civic and Radical vehicles. This morning I launched the game and most of the playlist is reset and both cars aren’t in my garage anymore. Is this happening with anyone else? Anyone know how I can avoid it in the future? I want to keep playing the game but if progress isn’t saved then it’s a major pain to deal with. The game does save sometimes so it’s an intermittent problem.

Also, does anyone know how to trigger the last two barn finds? The first time this happened I had two more barn finds to do (the purple circles where on the map but I hadn’t gone looking for the barns yet) and when the game relaunched the circles were gone and don’t know how to get them back.

For reference, I’m on Xbox One S.

I’ve had that happen. It used to be more common, with FH3 iirc, and the general advice was to go into a festival site, then exit. You can see things syncing in the lower right when you get back to freeroam.

Ah, I’ve never noticed this syncing before but I was just in the game and noticed the little animation in the lower right corner when I go to freeroam from the garage. Thanks for the help!

I haven’t had the same issue. I’ve played exclusively across 2 x xbox one S as FH5 will never run on my PC… 150fps in FH4 but FH5 won’t even launch.
From previous (FH4) glitches, the console doesn’t save everything you do immediately so if you let it power off or force a shutdown you could lose some progress.

I always make sure I go back to a home or festival site, enter into it, then bump back out into free roam before I exit.
I always close the game with ‘Xbox button on controller’ … Power … turn off console.

YMMV is you switch straight to another game etc.

This has worked OK for me so far.

Yeah, thanks for the insight! We’ve played about 1000+ hours of FH4 and never had an issue, but this has been a head scratcher, for sure. From this point on we’re going to be more careful that it syncs before we leave the game. Thanks again!
