As I’m sure by now most of you have seen the leaked gameplay video on youtube of someone actually playing the game, if you haven’t…
There’s one very important thing I noticed in this video. While the Auction House is back and I’m extremely excited for this, (I can’t tell you how many hours I spent just looking through cars.)
Anyway, something some of the oldschool players may have missed if they watched this video is when he goes into the AH, and he pulls up the list of the Seller/Tuner/Painter of a car… If you notice there is one thing that has me really excited.
THE PAINTER AND THE TUNER ARE 2 DIFFERENT PEOPLE!!!
This tells me one of 2 things are true… Either
Gifting is back. Either you can gift a car that you’ve tuned to someone who paints it and puts in on the AH, which I assume you can lock or is locked automatically when you send it to someone.
You can sell a car that you’ve tuned/painted to another player, and they can then paint/tune the car… AND CAN RESELL IT ON THE AH!!!
This IS AWESOME!!!
One of the major killers of the community of this game, was for tuning garages being unable to send/sell tunes/paints to their teammates. And another major killer was that people could then not turn around and resell a car they purchased off the AH. Most of the time this meant that if you had a copy of a car, and your friend didn’t… and your friend wanted it, and it was just sitting around collecting dust, then you were SOL.
Hummmm, I’m skeptical of this actually making it in the final release as this is a very early version of the game.
I just can’t see them letting us sell other peoples work.
Then again maybe that’s their solution to stolen designs and such that plagued the FM4 AH… No need to steal someone else’s work if u can just download it…
Time will tell I guess, this could go either really great or really bad…
This is not a very early version of the game. Only 3 months til shipping date, means this game is all but finished. A month or two to get the final bugs nailed down, and then it’s off to the disc printers to “go gold” and ship to stores.
This demo was probably made alongside the game and started on a couple of months back at the stage where it’s getting to features and content set, final adjustments and bug squashing.
I think everything seen is there, besides Ralph Fulton himself confirmed AH and SF were back and that they’d been listening. So hopefully we’ll be getting the game Forza 5 should have been. lol
The open world and feature set, the eye candy, the wildlife and lush jungles had me wanting to get this game, but no way would i be pre-ordering. But with AH and SF it’s a guaranteed buy, however if they pulled a bait and switch it would kill this franchise stone dead. Seems like Playground games have taken the lead in the Forza franchise. They’re doing all the things Turn 10 SHOULD be. It’s sad in many ways, but it’s good that they’re coming back, for fans and in this case, for Playground Games. Those guys are awesome. I truly believe they’re the Future of Forza at this point.
I don’t see much of a problem with selling cars worked on by others as long as you can’t sell their paints or whatever on the storefront, which we obviously won’t be able to do.
I suspect that the way it will work is that you still download the designs and tunes from the storefront like you can the shared content on FM6, and the creator still gets paid based on the uses/likes/downloads the same way. The difference is that you can auction the car with these locked items installed. Just my musings on the topic, and I may be waaaay off base.
