In my opinion extended nights are a good thing, the only thing that needs changing is the full day cycle length. When they extended night they should have increased the daytime cycle by the same percentage.
But Like I said just my opinion. Would definitely help the painters amongst us
I love the night sky in FH5, when in mode, I go in a long drive around the map excluding the highway.
But sometimes I’m doing other things that nighttime doesn’t help or completely ruins.
If you stay in free roam without getting in house or change car daytime is way longer than nighttime. But I change cars every skill points banking, just testing cars and fine tuning, or experimenting with painting where it is important to get out of the studio (Festival) to see how it look in free roam.
Time, night or day should roll if the player in house, and shouldn’t stop or restart because the player decided to change his car.
People who are bothered by loud noises? Well, better remove the exhaust note!
Oh wait, that’s just all the EVs they give us already.
Oh oh… I think EV’s are this forum’s equivalent to Godwin’s law… I’ll be moving along now
…actually, wasn’t there one EV here that had a good sound ? Or was I just dreaming ?
Or they could just fix a simple issue. At this point it’s the only issue I have with the nights.
I do appreciate the workaround suggestion and I’ve done that in the past. There’s still building supports and reflections that cause problems. I’m tired of switching to a satin base to reduce the reflections.
Outpost lighting the same as daytime lighting problem solved, now just implement it pgg’s
I made a topic about this!
The night and day are so sporadic! It’s day wait not it’s night! Hang on it’s day again wait, don’t like it wait a minute nope here it comes night again!!! Lol
I’ve heard this, not experienced it, always pretty predictable after starting. But that seems to be another issue, that it varies both in timing and visually from player to player. Maybe it’s a platform difference ? Not that there should be but what else could it be ?
I really haven’t paid much attention to the day and night changes until this thread. Now after watching the changes I really can’t see what all the stink is about. I have poor eyesight so I fall into the category of many of the complainers. But I really don’t have any issues with the night time driving. Only problem there is is with the painting and that was always a problem. It’s better in the outpost but as has been stated numerous times, those aren’t perfect either. Personal opinion on this now after giving it some thoughtful consideration and attention is there are many more issues with this game that need action.
Night time really sucks in the Eliminator. They should be able to omit that from the standard day/night cycle. OR make the car drop’s smoke ya know, not blend in with EVERYTHING.
I kinda skimmed this thread so if someone else suggested this already and I missed it I’m sorry.
Anyway, wouldn’t the simple and obvious solution here be to simply follow the seasons? I understand that in real world Mexico the difference between the length of day and night might be minimal compared to the experience of someone in Alaska from one season to the next. I feel like it would be a good way to balance people’s preferences regarding the day\night cycle in game though. Day and night players would each have their own week and you’d have two more weeks of relative balance between the two.
Much easier said than done. Currently, you’ve got one Day/Night cycle, in future, you’d have to tie the Day/Night cycle function to the value of the current season to determine when to use the cycle variations, and that could be prone to breaking if its not managed right.
Plus, doing work on an integral function like the D/N cycle could lead to other parts that rely on this function breaking.
I really don’t know enough about game development to know how right you might be. I also can’t say I’ve played the game enough to speak with great depth about every nuance of the day\night cycle.
That said, it seems like the extended night change was made relatively swiftly from what I gather so far. Haven’t read about it in great depth to this point but it doesn’t necessarily seem to have been game-breaking. Just, not preferred by some and perhaps many. If they were able to do it at all, tying it to the seasons doesn’t seem like that big a next step.
The more I think about it, the fact that they implemented seasons again but DIDN’T bother to differentiate them with the day\night cycle is actually kinda weird to me. It hasn’t really seemed to me like there’s actually much difference between seasons at all currently outside the FOMO. I think seasons are weird in the context of the game but if you’re doing it, I feel like there should be a difference from season to season in the length of a day. If it breaks in the process, fixing those breaks is probably work worth doing.
I agree with the complaints here. Such a pain in the rear to do Trailblazers and Speedzones at night because of limited visibility. Wish there was an option to keep the map on the day cycle permanently.
eliminators at night are great, speed zones are not a problem at night though trailblazers are easier in the day - but so what?
longer nights - still shorter than the days - are excellent to have
Extended nights are back with series 30. Like it or not. Personally just wish they’d fix lighting with painting at houses.
As I’ve said before, I wouldn’t mind longer nights nearly so much if the headlights in this game didn’t completely suck.
Well, I just like to see my blasted car. I’m in the dark about the strange appeal of the dark to many here.
A bit bored, a bit curious (again, done this before, at least twice lol), and what the heck, hooning around is always a distraction…
Daylight (headlights off to headlights on, which includes some twilight, basically, the time when headlights can’t be seen on the road ahead of you).
Night (headlights on to headlights off, again a bit of twilight).
Who thinks “extended night” and how it’s “always night now” are accurate phrases
I was actually surprised at just how fair it is now. Almost 50/50. But daylight still rules with about 1hr 10 minutes to nighttime of about 50 minutes. There’s two hours I’m not getting back lol. Again !
Anyway, like some have noted, Forza “Night” isn’t really all that dark. If you’re having trouble driving maybe check your graphic settings. If it’s a vision issue all I can say is I hate RL night driving now because of that but in Forza not an issue. Maybe your vision issues differ. And yes, IF we had decent headlights it would be better, maybe ?
Sure, it’s nice to see your car, it’s the biggest reason I drive chase view, but I like seeing it in the dark too, and you can see it, just fine most of the time, even in the countryside with no lights around.
And yeah checking the paint used to be a pain, I really don’t know why they couldn’t handle that better, but at least now, after painting it up if you want to know what it looks like in daylight, or any other time, it’s dead easy in Photo Mode. Just pick your time of day, done.
