I noticed recently that it seems like it’s almost always night time in the game. Did extended nights come back, and more frequently or something?
I actually timed it, and over a 30 minute (real time) period, it was dark for 21 minutes. How is it suddenly night in game 70% of the time?
I believe they added extended nights permanently with Series 23.

Basically because a small majority wanted it and there wasn’t an opportunity to voice a differing opinion. Without the added voice of a ‘downvote’ button on the forum, it’s possible they would have been better informed and not been so hasty with it.
Almost everytime I leave the festival its near pitch black. It’s uncanny.
I’ll say this - the test track does give me the opportunity to mess with my tunes where I can see, so I don’t mind so much anymore. Also the expansions tend to be day when the main map so there’s that too.
It’s very irritating now. Undo this extended night thing or make an option to change the daytime and weather settings on our own.

In the stream they said night was increasing in length but not to as much as the midnights series. It defo seems longer.
Painting has gotten so difficult that I’ve gone back to fh4 for it.

PGG forgot to pay their electric bill. Rolling blackouts are now in effect. Better buy those new car packs and bail them out.
There was a loud outcry in the community about nights not being long enough, so they changed it. Guess the old saying is true, you can’t please everyone.
Therein lies the problem with listening to community feedback. Some will be happy, some will not. It’s a no win situation for developers.
But they could please everyone and make it user-selectable, at least in free roam. The rendering is all done locally, so it doesn’t really matter if one client sees midday while another is seeing night. Additionally, they need to add an option to change the lighting in the garages. If you are trying to adjust paint color, bright midday lighting gives the most accurate indication of what the color will look like in free roam. The lighting in the festival sites is not good for color matching, it is too diffuse, and metal flake paint doesn’t look metal flake, etc. They allow setting lighting for photo mode now, so adding it to the garages doesn’t seem like a big stretch.
I’m not sure the time of day and weather are things that are just done locally. Everyone on the server is experiencing the same time and weather.
Besides, it would be weird for one player to be driving around at night in the rain with their headlights on while it’s a bright sunny day for another player in the same area.
The weather conditions would need to be the same, but the lighting conditions wouldn’t.
Been preaching for a while to allow us to voice displeasure with things via forum votes, not just “not voting,” as a means of a way to show feedback. It does nothing but create an echo-chamber of like minded opinions who question nothing but what they know, and in this case they don’t know “negative.”
I HATE the longer duration of night time, this game has one of the most beautiful depictions of skies out there, why are we not expressing the stretch of dusk/sunset when the skies are cotton candy blue with pink clouds?
Have to agree & was actually over on the suggestion hub looking for just that topic: “Remove extended night” when you were replying. Didn’t see it, so sounds like a target of opportunity.
I just felt like if I went out of my way to create a thread specifically to counter someone else’s thought or opinion, I’d feel like I am coming off as rather audacious, disrespectful and “targeting” that person for their opinion lol
Ironically, I thought I had seen previously where the requests were being made, but also thought it had been clarified that it was only planned for that one series featuring the neon. Was frankly surprised to learn it was actually implemented.
If the voting only accepts affirmative input, then that’s the only way to make both sides heard. So as a quick litmus test:
I wouldnt say so, you could anonymously downvote and carry on without saying anything – so long as anonymity exists, I feel it is innocent.
