So, am I the only one who have decided not to buy the game because of the reviews?

So, I’ve never been a console gamer but would always play the Forza games at my friend’s house. I even bought a Xbox 360 purely to play Forza 4, seriously. So I’ve been anxiously waiting for a Forza game to finally come to the PC, and I thought Forza 7 was going to be it. I’ve been anxiously reading all of the news, watching all of the videos, but a few things made my hold off form pre-ordering. And now that the game has come out and the reviews are out, it seems maybe I was right to hold off? The whole homologation sounds like it would take the fun out of customizing your cars, and the reviews seem to confirm this. And now they force you to gamble on “loot boxes” in order to make good credits?? Before turning off all of the assists and driving super carefully was the way to earn credits, now we’re forced to gamble on those stupid things? I mean, why? Why on the first full Forza Motorsport game for the PC did they have to make all of these changes that ruins the game? I’m sure they’ve noticed the negative reviews, but maybe they don’t know about them losing money, so I’m here to say that I am not going to buy the game (I was going to buy the Deluxe version) unless they do something to fix these things. Is anyone else on the same boat? Does anyone have the game and can correct me on anything? Like am I misunderstanding anything from the reviews I’ve read?

But if you’re also someone who wanted to purchase the game but have decided not to because of these things, please speak up, we need MS and T10 to know they are losing money over these silly changes they have made…

This is the lesson about pre-ordering many need to learn.

You do not hand over money for something without knowing all the details.

If I promised to give you something at a later specified date (subject to change) for X amount with little to no details other than you get something, would you still give me the $$$?

My golden rule is to not pre-order anything unless I’m 99% sure I will like it and unless I’ve had experience with the developers in the past. I’ve enjoyed every other Forza game so I pre-ordered 7. The only other franchise I’d pre-order would be the Titanfall franchise.

To each his own…

I pre-ordered, without reading any of the hype.

So far, I like FM7 better than FM6 which I also pre-ordered, and which I liked better than FM5, which I also pre-ordered.

Of course, take that for what it’s worth…

Me too Don,i’m really enjoying the game.

Pre ordering was a mistake for sure thought it was going to at least have Drifting and drag racing. That’s all a lot of people do on forza. I like to drift and now $100 down the toilet for putting my trust in forza thinking it would be the same… lesson learned

I’m sorry to hear that, but most of the time drifters always appear in the wrong lobbies. They always go into the normal race lobbies were people are trying to race while being disrupted by some drifter sliding across the track and causing wrecks. They should have been using the drift lobby were they belong, maybe forza would have kept it in the game.

I too preordered and am enjoying the game a lot. There is way more to be happy about with fm7 than there is to be mad about! As Don Ente said…To each their own!

Nope and I’m glad I waited. I pre ordered fh3 and was majorly disappointed in the pi system ( awd rockets ruling over everything). I only putting about 12 hours into the game. Once bitten twice shy. And here I am literally begging for a reason to stay with forza.

I only play multiplayer and nothing was improved in that regard. Next check I am getting pc2

You wont be dissapointed. The variety and fun gameplay in pc2 majorly outwieghs the massively overhyped f5.

I pre-order forza motorsport all of the time. I enjoy the game and know what I am getting.

Well, I know what I am getting until FM7 !!!

As a driver it is exactly as expected and improves and all of the previous forza motorsports.

Sadly the game has gone in reverse with regards the AI , some of the cars are quite simply not driveable as racers and are pure drift cars even though they are not necessarily drift cars per-se so there’s some major physic issues with some cars. Also really hate the crap way the VIP system was handled and the shady changes made to it. Other changes that simply do not taste nice.

Cars are vastly more expensive than previous forza’s
Race rewards are staggeringly low. A 17 lap race on Rio tonight at expert level netted me 30k credits in basic reward currency I gained 60k in Mod boosted currency so the point here is that to earn currency you do need mods really to then afford the cars. It was a 17 lap race after all so not a 2 minute race, 30k was pretty poor for a 2nd place !

We used to get a chunk of currency from the forza hub. Now it’s a flat 50k across all forza games !!

With my 30k winnings above I could afford a single basic MOD crate :frowning:

The AI is staggeringly bad now, so bad that I have had to turn off simulation damage as they constantly rear end me or side swipe me so badly that I always need to pit each race. As they do not suffer tyre.fuel or accident damage that makes it pretty tricky to catch up again when the side swiper / rear ender does not also need to pit

I have a few other gripes but on the whole I enjoy this version of the game. I am hoping to see changes to the VIP, AI, rewards system and general prices of crates and cars in game soon else this is a slippery slope to simply trying to bleed the fanbase of real money as we will soon have the real world money token introduced I see in other news articles /sigh

No, one of my friends who is a Forza die-hard skipped out on 7 after I explained to him how they gutted rivals, killed single-player with these silly homologation rules and didn’t add any new real body kits (admittedly some of the Motorsport-edition kits are pretty cool). I’m trying to enjoy Forza 7 for what its worth but I miss the days when a new Forza game felt like something truly special (I’m looking at you Forza Horizon 2, imo best racing game ever).

I’m enjoying the game for the most part but a few things have me irritated for sure.

The loot box thing has annoyed me a bit, I haven’t purchased any with my winnings and I won’t, I don’t fancy grinding for credits just to risk winning a car I already own and I can’t be bothered with the mods either.

The fact the auction house isn’t available yet is quite annoying, no it’s very annoying. Same with the other bits that are “coming soon”. By the time these things have finally arrived I’ll probably be burnt out on F7 and of moved on to another game. Also, I was looking forward to custom music with onedrive/groove integration, but unfortunately it’s not in the game like it was for FH3.

So Yeah, if I’m totally honest I’d of probably waited 3-6 months before buying it if I’d of known.

I don’t understand this " coming soon " and when I politely asked the thread was locked , I can understand peoples anger with the game not being complete at launch all these coming soon areas should be open it was not explained when we purchased the game that so much would still be unavailable. I do feel a lot of this game has been smoke and mirrors from the start and thats disappointing as many have lost faith and trust.

Personally I’ll hold in there and enjoy what the game does bring but would I ever pre order from T10 again ? Doubtful.

Reviews are harming the game for sure but its a shame because at its core its a really good game but yes it certainly needs work right across the board.

The base of the game is good, but the AI is horrible. Im not sure how anyone is enjoying that. The next is the homologation, and No championship to run your car, you built/upgraded. The micro stuff coming this way, I wont bother, I spent enough of the game. the bugs and glitches will patched eventually. If the AI was improved, i would get more into the game.

My decision was made on the strength of community feedback (as opposed to the usual ‘it looks pretty so therefore it must be good’ critic reviews) and as a result I personally have zero interest in giving Turn 10 my money this time around. Forza 7 isn’t what i’m looking for in a racing game.

But you hang out in forza 7 forum… makes sense… youll have the game soon enough

Haha, sorry to disappoint but no, I’m 110 hours into PC2 now and still have zero desire to make the switch. I’m positive that many will like FMS7 but without those class leaderboards and/or some form of structured multiplayer I can’t really see anything remotely long term once career mode becomes a distant memory. Enjoy the moment though.
No I don’t ‘‘hang out’’ in the forums - I just drop in from time to time to see what’s happening with the game I used to swear by…

OK, must dash… I have a 25 lap Formula Renault race to attend tonite and really need to practice. It’s a 3 tier (dynamic) weather system in a 16 player (public) lobby so please feel free to join if you have the time to spare. You won’t win a loot crate or gain a ton of cash to spend on cars and you won’t have to fill in a form to remove rowdy racers (they are dealt with immediately) but you never know, you might just enjoy the moment enough to want to do it again… And of course you might also fully figure out why I definately will not ‘‘have the game soon enough’’
Toodle-ooo…

Love the game, for the first time since FM4, I enjoy playing the singelplayer. Have the UE of the game. Don’t care about the WIP, early accsess and car pass is god enough for me. It’s ONLY a game, for 100$ its good value for the money. Yes have had all FM 1-7. Played all Gran Turismo 1-6.
