I went into Raplh Fulton’s Xbox activity feed and found Forza horizon 2 on the marketplace, it said the game was over 30 gb, to me this seems as though the game is going to be super detailed. The demo itself was 10gb so… GREAT NEWS (hopefully).
However, I also noticed it said the game would be available from the 3rd of october, this left me quite worried, as I preordered it for the 30th in my local Game shop. Is this date for the marketplace only or does it also affect shops?
I would be incapable of waiting any longer for it XD
Game as in GAME? It’s weird that they would accept pre-orders for the 30th since the 3rd October date for the UK has been known since Gamescom. You’ll most likely be collecting it on the 3rd.
Even if you did get it before street date you’ll probably want to wait until it’s released in your country anyway, wouldn’t want to get banned from XBL for getting too excited.
Serious question: is that really a possibility? Because It wouldn’t be the first time stores where I live (Gamestop in primis) decides to sell games earlier (For example, I got GTA V and Far Cry 3 the day before). So let’s say I can get the game on Oct. 2nd, should I wait before playing it?
You’re almost assuredly pretty safe to play a day early in your case. Despite the restrictions put in place and the fines/penalties possible, some stores inevitably sell games early. I’ll wager more than one person will be ordering the game from a North American retailer and having it sent overnight to them so they have it two days early. These things happen with each release and are part of the cost of doing business.
How is it possible that the stores that sell the game don’t know the exact release date for their country this close to release?? That’s so embarrassing for those stores, and I’m sure they’ll have plenty of unhappy customers on the 30th…
In Germany (and in Berlin, too), the game will be released on October 2nd. This is probably due to the fact that October 3rd is a national holiday in Germany (Day of German Unity).
FM5 is currently occupying 40GB on my drive and that is without Season Pass.
Basically, games can grow to 50GB base-install since that is the maximum a single BD-disc will hold. Updates/patches/DLC has not been limited (yet) by Microsoft so for all we know, we’ll end up with games that are 80GB or more in the future.
80GB, that’s insane, but I wouldn’t doubt it considering the progression of software size over the years. The demo for Wolfenstein was the first game I downloaded over a meg and this was from a local BBS. It took me over 4 hours downloading it via xmodem protocol!
