I was wondering if anybody knows the actual time of release for Horizon 2. I have to assume it’s at midnight but in which time zone? In desperation I tried setting the time of my Xbox to European time where it’s already September 30th in a silly hope that I would be able to play a few hours early but as I suspected it didn’t work. Is it midnight EST? CST? PST? Any information would help me plan my evening better.
I don’t know, but to me it would make sense that you’ll be able to play the game–I assume you have a digital installation pre-loaded–once your time zone changes to September 30. Midnight, regardless of your time zone, should make sense to most players. What they hope for is a different story… lol
I live in the Eastern Time Zone and it says 12:01 AM EST on the info page for it in the store. I assume that it is the same based on where you are located in the US.
This is correct. Wherever around the world or timezone you are it all gets released at the same time (Not date obviously as US and EU are different) But as soon as it hits 12:01 AM you should be able to access and play your pre-downloaded copy of Horizon 2.
Moving your system clock a few hours forward to European time probably did work but the game doesn’t release in Europe for a few days yet so you get nothing as a result.
Haha - interesting. Well I am officially in Newfoundland Canada now. At least that’s what I told my Xbox. 1.5 hours away from release. I’ll post here and let you all know if it works or not - no harm in trying right?
But you bought it on the American Marketplace, so it should still make no difference. Also I’m pretty sure you can only change your region a certain amount of times in a year.
I change my region almost every day. I actually live in Mexico… but I’m originally Canadian. I have to switch regions between Mexico and the US in order to either buy stuff using pesos/play games in Spanish with my wife or play them in English which is my native language. Anyways - Newfoundland didn’t work. My guess is it’s going to be EST.
People are mixing up account region and console region. The former can only be switched every so often, but the latter as often as you like.
Because I live in Sweden, I need to use my console on Swedish setting to purchase things with Swedish currency, but all other times I have it as if I live in Canada (I can’t set English as my language if my location is Sweden) because I prefer to have English console menus.
I use UK as the location. I pre-ordered Forza Horzion 2 Ultimate Edition and I was wondering, if I set my location to US, will it let me play early on 30/9, or will it detect that my network IP is from Europe and make me wait for 3/10?
Actually that’s an interesting question. Change your console setting to the US and find out. And yes - there was definitely some confusion over account region versus console region. Console region can be changed as often as you like. Anyways - you should switch your console setting to the US and see what it says when you go to your digital version of Horizon 2. It should currently say “Play it on 3/10” or something along those lines - after setting your console to the US see if it switches to 9/30.
Forza Horizon if you downloaded from the American store releases at 12:01 est which is unusual because all the recent EA games have released at 12:01 pst.
Not that I’m complaining bit over 1 hour until I can start playing and my daughter has helped me out by delaying her 3 hour morning nap and no sign of going down yet! Thought I’d have to wait until much later tonight to play!
