Hi Please do not merge this topic with others as i want a direct answer.
Can someone explain in leagues if i start a race and i start last and 3/4 of the race and people quit and i still end up finishing last do i end up loosing points? i.e i start a race and start 24, 6 people quit because they wreck there cars so technically i finish 18th which is better than i started how do i end up loosing points? and also when racing spec league why do cars go past me like i am driving a citroen 2cv, for example there was 1 race and i didnt make a mistake and the 1st place car ended up more than 4000ft in front, in my opinion if everyone is driving the same spec car with little to none tuning how can they end up that far ahead.
when leagues started i did enjoy them but now these small issues are starting to really put me of this game.
I have been playing leagues since they have been introduced, however there does seem to be a massive difference in most races and at the end of the day we are suppose to be racing very similar cars due to the homologated tuning system etc so how is this league system working?
seeing the same thing happening to me, it’s totally messed up
started in a race of 20, 3 dropped out , I started at 16th
I got a DNF but was in 16th just about to cross the finish line when the race ended
lost over 100 points , checked the results screen it showed me as finishing 19th with the 3 who dropped out above me ( all DNF as well) , with no lap times for 1 of them, and other 2 with dirty slow times
this is incredibly frustrating and Ive just gone back to doing 1 race because of it
I started leagues about 1 month after release and I have never placed better than 9th, was almost to level 4 and now back to start of 5. The one biggest thing I notice is other cars are not delayed when they go off the track in a corner and will catch up to me out of the corner and sometimes even pass me. Also in spec league I am seeing more and more cars passing myself or another cars on straight aways or pulling away when all cars are suppose to be equal. The biggest pissoff is friction decrease that seems to be lacking when off track,… I am thinking there might be a glitch or bug.
Yep, I’ve experienced the same thing. I’ve had cars crash into walls directly in front of me, even overturn as I pass them by. I should be able to stay a good distance in front of them as long as I don’t make any mistakes. Next thing I know, the same car that had a bad crash awhile back is rapidly overtaking me. It’s as if I were driving 20 MPH!
I’m not positive but I think the game does actively monitor actual positions gained/lost. So if you don’t actually pass anyone during the race you won’t earn points. You also earn less points for smaller lobbies.
Just because you’re not making mistakes in the spec league does not mean you’re driving as fast. If you’re using auto shifting then that’s slowing you down a lot, and at the end of the day that person who’s 4,000 feet ahead of you is simply better than you. If it’s on a rain track, though, check to see if that person got a clean lap or not. If his best time is dirty then he is probably using friction assist, which is allowed in the spec league for whatever reason.
I posted a very similar question 4 days ago which got merged into the League Rewards thread, here’s a part of that post;-
“Has anybody any idea how league positions awarded when you DNF in league races as they certainly don’t reflect you actual position on track.
I have just finished in 12th about 10 yards short of the finish line & get awarded 18th in the standings, the player awarded 12th quit the race before completing a lap, how is this possible?
This is just one example as I have had this happen to me several times before.”
Still haven’t heard a reasonable explaination., could anyone from T10 throw some light on this please?
How fast the driver is has no effect on starting 18th and having 6 people drop out and still placing higher than the driver that didn’t drop out. This has nothing to do with the speed of the driver and is just plain wrong! If someone drops out they should be last and if multiple people drop out they all should be behind the people who didn’t drop out last being the first person to drop out. If a race starts with 20 racers there should be 20 spots at the end and if one or more people drop out they should be behind the racers that didn’t drop out…only right but not always happening.
Outside of the ghost playlists, you can control your starting position by running fast, cleap laps. Of course you can’t control this every single race, but eventually it will reach an equilibrium and the more consistent fast times you put down, the more likely you will start further up the grid, the less likely you will get caught up with the “bad” or “slow” drivers, and the more likely you are to finish well in the race.
If you go into the Porshe Spec league check the race setup for grid ordering ( it is set to random in leagues on 1/13/2018 ). Also, under assist allowed only stock upgrades are forced in Professional league. Assisted braking is allowed, assisted steering is allowed, and lo an behold the almighty FRICTION assist is allowed.
Sorry, I misclarified the playlist I was referring to. I was actually referencing to the Porsche Spec Ghost list as that was the active one earlier today, but it applies to all spec playlists, not ghosts. The Subaru Cosmetic Spec was random grid also.
I didn’t realize friction assist was an online exploit until reading it here on forum. It did not seem like a huge problem at least in my experience racing online on my way up into Pinnacle. It might have cost me a place or two during a race every once in a while, but in my experience it was not noticeable or negligible. The assists I use are the braking line and sometimes TCS on occasion depending on the car.
Looks to me like their the only ones not using manual with clutch shifting.
I mentioned this in another thread about gear shifting.
It’s not spec racing as its meant to be when payers of all skills can customise what assists they use, so players who can’t manual with clutch are at a massive disadvantage against those that can.
I’m talking about the sim league in particular, if you take damage your car is slowed or you may even have to pit if the damage is serious enough,.
If I actually manage to get a clean race in the leagues then I don not end up with a DNF.
Just wondering if you have ever tried to race with damage on?
It’s worse than in fm6 where dnf’s were sorted in alphabetical order instead of race order
Somehow the results are upside down
And for that one that says “git gud”
when you are getting pollaxed and limp to the pits it does make it hard to actually finish
Same as 1 or 2 mistakes while in ghost leagues
But I’m also slow too lol
And i refuse to cut corners like everyone else to make up 5 seconds a lap
I’m not for victim blaming, but part of “gitten gud” is knowing how to avoid perilous situations and not making mistakes. Everyone has their fair share of getting decimated in the first corner, but you have to make the best of the situations when that doesn’t happen to you.
While that’s all good and all i dont think you see what the problem we are having is
Its not right that people who are quitting mid race are getting a finishing result higher than those that actually stay in the race till the end and they get penalized with a lower result whilst those that quit dont…they are almost rewarded for quitting
