Should Adults Buy Forza 4 Now Or Wait For The Price To Drop ?

Hello, I am over 50, no girlfriend, no job, no hair…I am trying to decide if Forza Horizon 4 is too “Kiddy” for adults to enjoy playing for years to come ? Is it worth us buying the game, especially for full price ? Horizon 3, I have played for almost 2 years, I love the game.[Apart from the all too often game crashes]

It looks like Forza 4 has been “Kiddied Up”, especially with the bright colours and the stupid dancing of your charachter every time you wait to do a race, and all the pointless clothes etc. What is all that doing in a racing game ? After playing Forza 4 for half a year will those dancing characters be so anoying for adults that it ruins the game to the point of us not wanting to play anymore ?

Has the “shelf life” of Horizon reduced for adults with Horizon 4 over the previous games ?

PS And why did I post this in technical ? Oops Sorry.

It doesn’t have to be “kiddy” if you don’t want. I’m almost 40 and do enjoy this game (FH3 to be specific. I’m holding on FH4 until it gets fixed) as long as it’s offline away from all the loud and obnoxious.

If you like cars, this is the game to have.

I prefer horses to cars ,lol…

It is hard to tell how the game is from utube videos. Plus they released it broken to the preorder people, I dont wanna lumber myself with another pc game that does not work.

Have microsoft not got a spare pc and xbox that they could have tested Horizon 4 on before releasing it ?

Oh by the way thank you for the reply.

Then wait for RDR2 lol

trolling at it’s finest

At last something to smile about on the forza 4 forum.May the force be with you !

Why does being kiddy bother you? Nobody’s going to judge your masculinity over a video game. Just enjoy the driving =)

If the game is too kiddy it will be irritating to play for us adults real quick that is my point.

It looks to me like even the colours and decorations used in the game are specially chosen to attract kids

Most of the kids get the money from us adults to buy the games that we seem to be more and more excluded from.

You can ignore all that stuff easily, it’s annoying when you roll in your 100th pair of pointless shoes on the prize spins, but apart from that I’m really enjoying it, the map is great and there’s loads of things to do.

It’s not exactly Fortnite Horizon. Sure, there’s annoying dance emotes, dumb-looking clothes and stuff, but that’s just a bit of extra on top, something that doesn’t really affect anything. You don’t HAVE to customize your character. If anything, I’d imagine that it’s the kind of thing that gets on one’s nerves at first, then you just learn to ignore whatever you don’t care about, and concentrate on the driving gameplay, since I assume that’s what’s keeping you coming back to Horizon 3.

Still, now that this stuff IS in the game, I do hope that down the line we might get some updates with more diverse character models and less jokey customization items.

I have been absolutely loving every minute of the game and I’m north of 40. At the end of the day, video games are there to have fun with - just enjoy the frivolity that comes with it!

I play Forza for fun too not seroius. In online races I am normally at the back of the pack behind slow pete, but I don’'t care.

I preordered the game and have been playing it for the last few days. The “kiddy” social stuff is very easy to avoid and the game can easily be played offline. In terms of just cruising around and relaxing in awesome cars, this game is amazing and the world map is much better and more interesting than FH3.

For racing, this game is more hit and miss. The AI solo races aren’t too bad (as long as the difficulty isn’t so high that the AI’s blatant cheating becomes too apparent), but from what I’ve heard (I’m a solo player primarily) multiplayer is missing a lot of features right now and rivals are pretty much broken.

Overall, it depends what part of the game you enjoy. If it’s exploring/cruising/collecting cars, then it’s definitely worth getting. The game looks fantastic and runs fine on my PC (only a few CTDs so far, all outside of races), lots of cars and beautiful scenery to drive them through.

For the other stuff, I would say to wait for the price drop to give them time to fix things up and get a larger playerbase since a lot of new players come in around sales.

At least you are enjoying playing I am glad for you…I do not have the game yet see, I played the demo and I enjoyed it.

That was my understanding that you didn’t have the game yet given the title of this thread, I was just giving my feedback since I do have the game.

If you’ve enjoyed the demo, then you’ll likely enjoy the full game since it’s lots more of the same.

I have a box full of pc games that were disappointing, overpriced, and often full of bugs.

I must admit I bought Forza Horizon 3 and the dlc’'s without a second thought and I never regretted it.
The game crashes are a big issue though, and the new game has its crash issues too.

It is good to see in this thread that older gamers still enjoy playing computer games…YAY !

Yep, big four zero next month and no plans to hang up the controller until the arthritis sets in lol

And right you are sir. I was 40 once.
