I bought forza horizon 3 with all dlc and everything i need for it a few years ago and enjoyed it, i have gotten back into it and want to play forza horizon 4 with the xbox game pass but it doesnt come with dlc. would it be worth it to pay another $130 aud just for fh4 when i have full fh3, and i live in australia.
in other words, what does fh4 have that fh3 doesnt?
Can’t you just get the Car and/or Expansion Pass and they’ll work with the Game Pass version of the game?
I’m not sure about FH3, but FH4 has avatars you can play dress-ups with if that’s your thing.
Actually FH4 has much better physics than FH3, unless awful is the same as difficult for you. FH4 has broken online its true but dont even get me started on FH3 online… Power builds always win, period. V8 swapped Subarus will dominate EVERYTHING below S2 class. Atleast FH4 got the PI balance much better even tho its not perfect. FH3 messed you up when you had good tires and then you had no power at all, so high powered slidey cars still won every race. I won 99% of races with my Subaru and im not even kidding… Then i realized this is stupid and boring and bought FM7 and FH4.
If you only wanna play single player then i cant really comment because i never play it
How exactly are the physics awful? they are great improvement since Horizon 3,Sure they could cut down on emotes and clothes, As far as online goes it’s just fine and if you have problems there are easy workarounds…The only thing Horizon 3 has better is the chat and championships
Why do people keep comparing fortnite to forza, fortnite isnt the first game to have characters dancing and doing moves emotes etc etc. Forza has been around a very long time.
one is shooter the other is racing/driving game
Just about every MMO has dancing characters and emotes
I think it speaks to the maturity of the Fortnite/FH4 gaming communities more than anything. And the money-grab carelessness of both developers. Also, FH4 is more combat than racing.
I think the obvious answer is to get gamepass for a month and try the game out for yourself.
Parts of FH4 are better, other parts are worse.
Which parts are better or worse, or how important they are greatly depends on your preferences.
FH3 was a modern marvel of a game that almost completely worked 100% of the time in every way.
FH4 is a common example of a game that released before it was ready, relying on patches to complete it.
As much as I’d like not to, I have to agree with that right there. A great example of FH4 being unready for release upon release is how the route creator came out in the, what? Was it the first or second update?
For those who play a majority of the time offline, like myself, if I bought a disc version and installed it, never updating it or anything, I wouldn’t have access to the route creator or its other related features. Why is that the case? Companies like Microsoft want users of their product to stay connected to the internet. For numerous reasons that I don’t have time to list and will assume you know what I mean, lol.
Even though FH3 has its fair share of disappointments, its strongpoints far surpass their predecessors in FH2 and FH1. A good example of that is offroad racing. It was brought into the series in Horizon 2. However Horizon 3 stepped up the game for offroad and rally racing in general. Way more dirt roads, a higher count of longer offroad and dirt races, etc. And not only that, a repeatable Goliath circuit system was brought back that we hadn’t seen since the Goliath at the Street Race Hub in FH1.
If I were you, I’d wait a bit to see if any of the major issues present get fixed, or even addressed at the least. Personally, I can’t do that because I’v already bought the ultimate edition so hopefully nothing gets worse, lol.
Forza Horizon 2,3 and 4 is different enough that you should play all of them. Their DLC add-ons is also great. Storm Island, Hot Wheels, Blizzard Mountain and Fortune Island.
The main issue i had with Forza Horizon 4 is that it disconnects sometimes in Forzathon co-op round 3, means you will also lose the points for round 1 and 2 as the game doesen’t save what you achieved. It should have stored FP after each round as there isn’t 100% sure you won’t get disconnected on round 3. You only get all FP if the game doesen’t disconnect on round 3.
Sometimes Forzathon points isn’t added to your account either.
When i completed weekly challenge this week, including dailys i got only 20 of 80 FP points. I got the 7th daily, but the bonus 60 FP were not added at all.
The game probably struggles to add FP from 2 different things at the same time.
There is two ways to get double FP. Buy the VIP Pass, or buy the specific house for 5 millions with ingame currency,
Forzathon is the only thing that is buggy for me, but it’s luck based i think. Most of the time Forzathon works fine. Lately i would say that Forzathon works 8-9 of 10 times.
Besides these still unfixed bugs, the game works fine.
Why would you waste 130 $ for that game? You can get it for around 35.
IMHO, I wouldn’t pay full boat for H4 (I’ve been watching the forums, and my buddy, game was released with too many issues just like FM7), Gamepass it first to see if you like it. With that said, it was on sale during their Countdown sale recently (Ultimate was $75, I had a xbox gc for $50 from their rewards program, so all I paid out of pocket was $25). I recommend hawking the xbox store weekly for any sales.
You don’t need the main game to play the DLC. You can buy the DLC it will work with the Gamepass FH4.
Also, my opinion is FH4 at 60fps on X1X is in another class to all other Horizon games. I couldn’t go back to 30fps.
For H4 Better physics, better map, more verticality, more cars, more sound details, more graphic details, track variety (seasons), realistic highways and a real off road feeling.
Lol what? Some of the car sounds are absolutely wretched and then there’s the endless glitching of them, even the first Horizon had better car sounds.
And there’s literally 1 motorway on the entire map.
I would say that if you’re happy with FH3, go ahead and stay with it. Like others have said, FH4 has its high points, but none of them are greatly above what FH3 offered (especially since you already have Blizzard Mountain), and the game was released before it was ready and is still in the process of being fixed. Some pretty fundamental things like multiplayer are much more broken in FH4 compared to FH3, so if that’s what you enjoy doing then it’s no contest at all to stay with FH3.
I can only give you my opinion, ultimately you’ll have to try it for yourself to find out but for me personally i’d give FH4 a miss, even if it’s at least until it’s properly sorted (mainly MP). As overall for me FH3 is more enjoyable and seems to have a much bigger replay value in comparison.
FH4 has terribly annoying music and the environments are miserable, exactly like the UK. FM7 and FH4 are equally the worst in the entire ‘Forza’ franchise from my point of view.
The map, car choice, and track are better on FH4.
Everything else is better on FH3.
In particular multiplayer. If you like multiplayer, don’t go anywhere near FH4.
FH4 isnt even worth $20.
Personally, I prefer the story of H3, it just draws me in more and has a better build up. There’s also the goal of earning influence to build and level up your Horizon Festivals, which gave me lots to do when I was playing H3. There’s also cars in H3 that are not in H4, like the Motorsport pack: Viper Race Car, Z4 Race Car, and more.
Aside from the story and cars that are not in H4, I prefer H4 as a game to currently play. I find myself liking the physics and most engine sounds more in H4, plus cars can have higher downforce, so I’m no longer stuck having to drive certain cars to get the driving feel that I want. The downside: very little story, so not much to really ‘do’ in the game, for me atleast, aside from the obvious (online, just racing for fun or racing to farm credits/wheel spins); oh, and traffic is horrible in H4 but 10 times worse in H3.
So, it’s really a toss up and falls to what you like the most in a racing game.
If you loved multiplayer and/or rivals in FH3, you’ll hate FH4.
If you love Fortnite, you’ll love FH4.
