Settings that make cars handle badly?

I have recently noticed an issue that I can’t figure out. I’m an avid tuner. I have a friend who races all the cars with me that I tune. Usually they work fine for him but recently the tunes have been sliding all over for him but not me.

So I specifically made a Lamborghini Trafeo tune that’s all grip and handling. I’ve been able to set new rivals times in Rally Adventure Apex races. But when he drives it, it acts like a drift tune. If I drive behind him I can’t even force my car to break traction like his does.

He reloads the tune a couple of times because we realize they sometimes load wrong.
I’ve gone through his advanced settings and they are very similar to mine.
The only difference is he uses automatic transmission and I use manual with clutch, but even if I switch to auto I can’t get it to slide.
I even had him switch to Sim steering like I use and it still happens.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
It’s not specific to this car tune but I will post it in case anyone wants to test it.

It’s really frustrating.

We have noticed in the past that he can drift easily in anything whereas I have to work a car to get it to break lose in most cases.

Sound like you have traction control on and he don’t ?

What platforms are you both on? Do you have a tune example that’s not dlc?

Do you have traction or stability control on?

Neither one of us has TCS on. He uses abs. I don’t use any of them. I don’t use launch control either.

We’re both on Xbox series x.
Here is another one he slides in.

And I doubt the problem is on my end. No one else has this issue but him.
His controller is Xbox elite as is mine.

I ran it about for a bit. I had to ebrake to get it to drift much and running through drift zones didn’t get any points so I would guess I’m matching your experience. I’m also on XSX.

So what comes to mind is that they possibly have tire damage on, or this other bug I’ve heard about here. When people have described this they’ve reported that changing all of the difficulty settings to something different, driving, and then changing everything back has alleviated it. I haven’t experienced that so I can’t speak to it’s accuracy. I’ve heard it a couple of times though.

Thanks for your effort. I thought about the car damage as well. It’s not on. As I said I have walked through every setting with him. I’m sure we have swapped traction control around a few times but I will try it again to see if that helps. It’s very odd.
It seems to be worse now than a few weeks ago.
I un-installed fh5 and reloaded it. In case something on mine was bad.
I wish pgg was actually participatory in things like this.
I’ve also noticed this week that choosing a rivals opponent is almost broken. I have to go to each race now. They won’t load from the rivals tab. I think this is like when the brought steam in. They are tweaking things for play station and it’s breaking things.

Are you both using the same gpu settings ?

choose a car from the USA if you want that

no need to change any settings, add upgrades or do any tuning to make it handle badly

We’re both on the same console with standard settings. Nothing has been changed.

I think standard is quality 30fps if remeber right. Make sure both are on performance 60fps.

I tested it in performance and then in quality and didn’t notice any difference. It’s a good thing to check on their side though.

The last thing that came to mind was to be sure they’re removing the game from quick resume.

It’s none of those things. And this has been going on for weeks. Hard resets have been done. Same performance modes. Something is definitely making his game act differently. Thank you for thinking about it. This probably happens a lot but people just don’t realize it.

At first I was blaming my tunes. Then it became obvious that the cars were behaving different for each of us. It’s been a long process of trying to figure out what’s different.

Hey Forza!.. Some input? Anytime.

Devs wont help with this, but since you both have elite controls are they both on default settings or have any of you changed setup, like how fast they respond etc.

Probably nothing to do with your problem but there is an ongoing issue with controllers and the most recent update.

Yeah, it sounds like you’ve done quite a bit of troubleshooting already.

Has he tried an alt/secondary account to see if it persists on his xbox? Also, is it only your tunes or with other’s tunes that he uses, or with stock cars or with his own tunes? Has he rebuilt your tune with your settings?

I would be surprised if it’s limited to your tunes. It seems like it would be more global for him.

All good questions. Most beyond his willingness to participate. He won’t make a second account so I don’t know.
Also, it’s very difficult to tell a tune of someone else’s to try. I don’t use anyone else’s and I suspect if he tried one that made him squirrelly he would just dump it.

Nothing has been modified from stock. I have every controller and can tell you the best for me is turtle beach ultra but I’ve been using the elite to keep equal ground for testing.
