Seriously disappointed with this game

It’s better to drive with TCS and STM off. It’ll take some time for you to get used to driving without assists on. With TCS off you have to learn about throttle control, and this is a bit difficult for people with heavy fingers (me) but keep practicing and you’ll get the hang of it eventually. If the car seems drifty, you need to tune it. Only when you get the higher class vehicles like R or P you’ll need TCS on, since these cars are so powerful and 75% of them are RWD, you’ll experience a lot of wheelspin.

Forza 5 honestly feels like a more polished and complete game to me - wish it had F6’s particle effects and exhaust pops/crackles. Fm6 can be immense fun, but one way or another you can’t ignore the fact that the game feels rushed; clearly testing wasn’t done at length before release. I can’t stop coming across bugs every time I play.

In many ways, F6 feels like F3… a lot of tracks… a lot of cars… but dumbed down engine sounds. Maybe F7 will bring the series back to where it should be. Also, I’ve a feeling after Horizon 3, I prolly won’t be giving much attention to F6. I still play F5 every now and then - everything about that game feels new gen.

Just to add to every other post - I can drive the GT cars without Traction control and I"ve tuned the Ferrari for less lift throttle oversteer. But I played Battlefront last night and got lit up so bad I actually rage quit. …I just don’t have enough experience in that game and got lit up by everyone who’s been playing since launch. My point is, if you stick with Forza 6 you will adapt to the new physics.

I had the same struggles with forza at first. Frustration levels hit a real high at first. I avoided playing for a month!

The physics are NOT at fault!

Its the tyres that are the issue. I think they may have configured them wrong in the studio.
Before you tune anything like the Diff, anti roll bars ETC go into “tune car” and lower the tire pressures to 15 for both front and back. (add more if you want a little more slide to the car)

I repeat LOWER TIRE PRESSURES TO 15 FRONT AND BACK!

This gives tonnes of grip and to makes cars handle very much like Forza 4 and Horizon (i dont care if anyone says Horizon is not realistic) i have a blast playing Horizon 2, realistic or not its about fun, NOT frustration!
From there go add upgrades and further tuning to suspension and diff if required

As a side note tune your cars chassis first ie, upgrade tires, anti roll bars, suspension before adding power.

I now play forza 6 everyday its truly an amazing game once you get settled.

For me the biggest change from FM4 to FM5/6 was the brakes, at the start of FM5 I was locking up everywhere.

No offense dude but you just nee d to get better at the game. The physics model in FM6 is fantastic and almost every car is controllable with no assists. You need to have good throttle control and most importantly you need to have SMOOTH INPUTS. If you’re all herky jerky with your controller, the car will go all over the place.

Don’t blame the game when clearly the issue is your skill.

LOL… agreed
No wonder why they keep dumbing the game down.

Listen to the tires and feel the ffb! Physics is the one thing i like about Forza 6! Maybe the only thing! Seems featureless otherwise. Oh wait it has mods…lolol the most useless feature i have seen yet!

I drive forza 6 with a logitec steering wheel, pedals and a bucket seat and the feedback you get from the game together with the complete settup is amazing!!! for example; when you lock up your the front wheels with abs on you get amazing feedback though the steering wheels like in real. put assists on and off to feel the difference and you know this game is amazing. its just way better with a propper racing setup than with a controller. propper i mean about 700 dollars what mine was. even the xbox one controller is really good and gives you a lot of feedback, but you have just better throttle control with pedals.

I disagree, before I had my wheel I played it with the controller and really liked it. now I’ve got my wheel working in it (clubsport wheel, universal hub, clubsport pedals, clubsport sequential shifter and a handbrake) I can’t stand to play it for any length of time. The ffb is horrid, I played forza 5 today and it was more pleasant even though it’s pretty low standard. I even did back to back comparisons with the same car and track between 5 and 6 and when I jumped on 6 after playing 5 I switched it off after 5 minutes.

Forza has always been made for the controller, wheel users just continuously get the short end of the stick with poor implementation.

I agree the ffb with the wheel in this game is junk

I agree. The ffb on fm4 was better and forza has never spent any resources to make the wheel experience a good one. The vibration is too strong durning a power slide, why should my wheel vibrate when the rear tires are slipping…and the ffb is not strong enough.

IMO it’s easier than ever to drive with TCS off. The only challenging car to drive without TCS is the Lotus E23. I would look at your throttle deadzones since you are a Forza veteran.

I have now received my Elite controller, the triggers feels much better, and by using the longer option stick makes it easier to steer through curves with much better control, I recommend it if you can afford it.

I’ve thought about it, but I’m more than happy with my Masterchief controller for the time being. Maybe later…

Thanks for the positive replies (most of) you guys. I appreciate that I was a little aggressive in the OP. I adjusted the deadzones and had a little success. I’ve narrowed my issue down to the controller. The triggers are way to sensitive compared to the 360 controller when it comes to throttle and brake inputs I am hitting 100% at around only 80% of the trigger travel. I’m going to pick up an elite controller when I get a chance and hopefully that will make things a bit easier.

I totally agree with you the fanboys here are going to blame your abilities but the reality is the gameplay is very poor and the people deeply know it. The game needs be fixed.

LOL… Im not very happy with T10 or this game. But the one thing T10 a decent job on was the phyics.
. I was just a casaul ( non-assisted) player in fm4, and transitioned into a LB “use anything to make me faster” type player in 5fm. There simply no downside to using to using TCS in FM5. when transitions from FM5 to FM6 I found the oversteer a lot more foregiving and TCS was more of a hindrance than its worth. Alot of fast TCS user have drop using it, because it slower and not need.

So the OP is wrong. TCS isnt need or impossible.
He is simply doing it wrong and need TCS to mask the problem.
He probably hasnt adjusted the new controller, or has a bad tune.

Agreed. There has already been so many posts to try and point the game in the right direction, but it seems I’m just typing now for no reason. So that’s why I did my own review of the series that’s 47 min long on good ol youtubes

You really can’t have a lead finger in this game, that’s all. THe game is pretty wonderful, and that’s coming from someone who had tons of hours on Forza 4 as well and loved it endlessly. You just have to practice and tune constantly to get the car where you want it. Don’t give up!
