New EventLab Props
Previous series seasonal props have been added to the Blueprint Builder, including the holiday decorations, trees and snowmen of Series 2, and the all-new party decorations of Series 5.

Festival Playlist Collectibles & Parade Float Race
In the Winter “Dry” season, look out for Dinosaur Piñata collectibles – smashing 15 of them unlocks the Orange Piñata Outfit. Elsewhere around the festival, don’t miss the new Parade Float race. It’s available throughout all of Series 5, however completing it during the Summer “Wet” season unlocks the Green Piñata Outfit.

PR Stunts
To celebrate the PR Stunt Carnival, every week in Series 5 we’ll be adding four new PR Stunts – one of each type: Speed Zone, Danger Sign, Trailblazer and Speed Trap – for a total of 16 new PR Stunts! The Speed Zones will be added permanently, while the others are only available to complete in Series 5 and will feature a special icon to distinguish them from existing PR Stunts. As you perform PR Stunts in Series 5, look out for the flags, ramps and cameras to be dressed in party decorations – in addition to confetti pops once completed.

Accessibility menu: Sign Language Cinematics
The Accessibility menu now includes options for American Sign Language (ASL) and British Sign Language (BSL) cinematics. This feature works by using a picture-in-picture display of an ASL or BSL interpreter during cinematic game scenes. Players can change where the interpreter appears on screen and adjust the background color to their preference. Find out more about the ASL/BSL features in the Microsoft blog and Xbox YouTube video.

RELEASE NOTES - FIXED ISSUES & IMPROVEMENTS

Look for the Series 5 content update after 10am Pacific time on March 1st. See the Release Notes at Forza Support for the full list of fixes, including these notable changes:

  • A retroactive fix to bugged Daily Challenges and Treasure Hunt events in Series 1 and Series 2 will complete those Festival Playlists for affected players, and unlock the “Min, Meet Max” Achievement.
  • The Livery Editor layer UI has been reworked to ensure layers are displayed and that numbers don’t obfuscate the layer data.
  • Time of Day is now paused in Photo Mode.
  • The prompt informing players of an incoming Season change will now appear in Horizon Life
  • The Difficulty menu now includes a preset for “All Assists”
  • Colourblind options now change the mini-map route colour
  • Updated logo on Horizon Race Suit to use FH5 rather than FH4
  • The Zenvo TS1 car name has been changed to the Zenvo ST1
  • Improved Car Collection navigation
  • Added ability to view followed players when on the Creative Hub tab on the Pause Menu via the button bar
  • Updated Map Seasonal PR Stunt UI to be clearer
  • Players are now offered the choice of whether to stay in a convoy created by Link after the event is completed
  • When editing EventLab routes, we’ve added the ability to start editing from the start line rather than the first placed checkpoint.
  • Added icon to show EventLab flyers to indicate whether it has props or not
  • Added ability to view Creator Hub from the Challenge Browser in Super7

So far the devs and I have vastly different opinions on what qualifies as “new”.

If this is just putting new restrictions on existing PR stunts, you really, really need to have an internal discussion about transparency with the consumer and how exaggerating the truth can lead to backlash.

I’m pretty certain from the wording that they will actually be adding some new PR stunts. It’s a minimal effort activity to add those, so I reckon we might see 2 new ones of each type. Generally, sounds a very dull month though.

I’ll give it a chance but I’m not expecting much, I don’t mind the PR stunts so more isn’t a bad thing but I just don’t see anything for players to get their teeth into here.

I personally don’t think PR stunts have enough depth to them to theme an entire series around, I know there’s probably some out there that do but in all but 1 game I personally have never bothered with them after 3 starring them unless they feature in seasonal tasks.

FH2 on the 360 used to give you credit rewards up to 50k for beating people on speed traps so I used to do it in that, I know nothing like that will ever return but all the same it was a good way to encourage people to repeat them and try to improve their PB’s.

They will have the same depth as the current “World Cup” theme going on.

And, if I recall correctly, FH3 would give you something like 1000XP every time you beat your PB…and a small amount of 100XP if you didn’t. That also made you want to keep trying

I hope that Expansion 1 will be announced during this livestream.

No doubt it will be redoing speed traps, speed zones, danger sign jumps, the showcases in different vehicles and whatever else they class as PR stunts. Gosh I cant wait!

“new cars”
Let me guess. Cars that we already had in FH4 that are just slowly re added to FH5?

I hope we get a “Track Month” in the near future adding new tracks for every category that also find their way into MP rotation.
Something they never did over the whole lifetime of Horizon 4.

Yes, this would be great. As it is, I think there are slightly less tracks in the base game compared to FH4.

Would need to count but I have the same impression. Although it only might be because many of the Sprints feel so similar I never can tell which is which. Sweeping corners after sweeping corners, often on the same routes.

That’s a big part of the reason why I made my comment criticising the devs definition of new so far. I don’t care about stunts, but if they just put a bunch of new restrictions on existing stunts and decide to call that new to build hype, what’s stopping them from doing the same thing for Road, Street, Dirt, and Cross Country tracks?

I’m not here eagerly awaiting new stunts, but I am here very aware of the precident that is about to be set, and what that means for future announcements and content that worries me.

I share your concerns.

Despite their falling all over themselves with congratulations re: the number of people playing (read: played at least once) Horizon 5, I think deep down they know they have laid an egg and are pull out all stops in desperation trying to keep this game alive with their monthly themes, most of which have been poorly contrived.

None of this stuff has done anything to help convince me to keep playing this game as often and for as much time as I played all of the earlier versions.

So more of the same garbage with some restrictions, wow this game is dead.

Oh awesome, a whole month-long series based around crap that nobody wants to do.

I swear I did each PR stunt one time, got my 3 stars, and unless something was required for a playlist event, I’ve never and will never intentionally do any of them again.

I mean, how many times can I launch a Jesko an unrealistic distance before the thrill is gone?

Turns out the answer was 1…

It looks like I may be the odd man out here, but I am very much looking forward to what they have come up with in terms of stunts.

Stunts (danger jumps, speed traps, speed zones) are by far my most favorite activities, other than just cruising and finding the barns and signs (long ago completed).

In past Horizons (especially 3 and 4), I would get a special car prepped for each of those stunt activities, and then spend hours trying to take seconds off the speed events or better yet, adding distance to each of my best jumps at all of the jump locations. I definitely prefer that over most of the racing (trial, championship, etc) although I did enjoy Rivals before that was nerfed.

Another favorite of mine is working towards long skill chains, which involves another whole set of stunts.

So yeah, bring on the stunts.

Doug, I too prefer the stunts but specifically in this game because it can be achieved quickly. Compared to the last game, the physics still dont feel right! The cars don’t turn/brake/land jumps like they should, I don’t know if they uploaded the tuning system backwards but the way I tune the anti-roll bars in this one is in reverse from the last 3 games. Weird!
