Now for the Trial…
Course? Happy to go with @x_ShadowsBane_x 's Cloverleaf.
The cars though, A800 yes but I don’t think it’s UK as a whole, the reason being that there are several cars that start higher in A class than the Project 7 and DB11, I personally think it is the British Racing Green special restriction, because here’s the two highest starting A class cars for that…
If you want to stick with A800 UK I understand but here’s the full BRG list in case it is just that…
AM DB11
AM DB5
Bentley Continental Supersports
Bentley Blower
Ford Escort '77
Ford RS200
Jag Project 7
LR Defender 90
LR Series III
Lotus Elan
Lotus Exige '12
McLaren F1
McLaren P1
Mini '65
Mini X-Raid Countryman
Peel P50
Vauxhall Carlton
I really hope my guess is wrong because good lord are most of these useless and not even worth testing.
Edit:
Go with Aston Martin vs Jaguar A800 (thank @LSD51ZEN for this)
I’ll add any others that are worked out into this post throughout the week…
RA SC - Alumicraft B700
HW SC - Vintage Racers B700 (ugh…I’ve wanted a seasonal event with these in Mexico for ages and when one finally comes they put it in the only place I won’t ever bother with).
If the PR Stunts follow the same logic as last week it’s Anything Goes…
The 2 in Mexico - A class
RA - B class
HW - S2
At a guess Christmas Commute is daily drivers A class, Braving the Cald is classic rally B class on caldera and Yule Ready For This is modern sports cars B class (look like one of the later mx-5s) on the christmas circuit.
I think your reasoning for the BRG restriction is pretty sound. Not impressed with the included vehicles. Not a lot there that will be worthwhile.
Cloverleaf is pretty short. Will be a good idea to get out in front of the robots quickly.
I think a large part of the community won’t be familiar with Cloverleaf so could be an interesting Trial in that regard.
Thanks you Guys/Gals (poss) This all gives me an excuse to get on the game
One thing! How in the name of anything do you get the ‘British Racing Green’ option on screen? Or is this a pc advantage?
Create a blueprint pauly, if you’re in any of the cars in the list it will show as one of the first available ones.
If you’re in anything else it will be under Horizon Specials.
Thanks, I was going to ask the same question.
If I see a Peel in the trial I’m going to have to try really hard to not switch to 3rd person and go Mad-Max-full-on-toxic-player-mode … because I hate that thing with a passion.
I can see Cloverleaf trial turning into a mess at the start. The turns come up quick and with the preferred line you can get through the first 3 flat out or with only the slightest of lifts. I’m predicting fights for that line while the AI in front tries to set sail.
Ah, deja vu, think I’ve asked this before and you gave me the same solution, Soz! Will write it down this time
Thanks!
Please let this be wrong…
A British Racing Green (Cloverleaf Sprint)
Lotus Exige S (TGM) - 1:35.963
Lotus Exige S (Nalak28 ‘AWD Bot’) - 1:36.480
Lotus Elan (Rocklxd) - 1:36.914
Vauxhall Carlton (ThinkingKnot778) - 1:37.231
Jaguar F-Type Project 7 (ziperrPL) - 1:37.865
AM DB11 (TGM) - 1:38.332
AM DB5 (TGM) - 1:39.300
It would have been fitting for a car that starts in D class to win this but thankfully the Exige was the last car I tried, I’ll share mine probably on Wednesday but honestly there’s not a huge difference between it and Nalak’s.
Nothing wrong with the two thumbnail cars but there’s very little you can do with them build wise so both still remain very heavy regardless.
If anyone wants to I’d suggest running a couple/a few of your favourite UK cars just in case, despite the logic pointing towards British Racing Green surely they can’t have chosen a restriction as poor as this, I looked for it on here in previous playlists and unless I missed something it has never ever been used for an event a single time, only as the name of a Forzathon task.
And no wonder it hasn’t, I can’t remember ever wanting to be as wrong as this about a Trial before.
I may well be totally off base here but one of the reward cars for the regular seasonal championships is the jag xfr-s.
Often, one of the reward cars is suitable for the trial so it might be a glimmer of hope for the wider UK A800 class.
Of course no harm in preparing for the worst, whilst hoping for the best.
And there will be an 1958 ASTON MARTIN DBR1 and a 2017 ASTON MARTIN DB11 in the forzathon shop. So it is possible that the restrictions for the trial will be Aston Martin vs. Jaguar (A 800).
I half thought this as well, talked myself out of it because of the '13 Vantage starting at a higher PI than the DB11 does.
It does seem very possible though, last (well technically this) week’s was the '03 S2000 and Integra in the thumbnail for B700 Honda and Acura, a stock S2000 was the closest B class Honda to the 596PI of the Acura, the highest PI Acura available that’s closest to the 700PI restriction.
The Project 7 is the highest stock PI Jaguar closest to 800 here, and the DB11 is the closest Aston to the Project 7, so it is a similar situation here.
I’m confident enough to go with this being it having thought about it now, ‘Bragging Rights’ does suggest ‘something vs something’ too.
Great stuff thanks for suggesting it + getting us away from that terrible British Racing Green restriction hopefully that stays as something that never gets used in a seasonal event.
Aston Martin vs Jaguar would definitely be a more interesting restriction.
At the very least, it gives me some more cars to fool around with on Cloverleaf today.
I look forward to the notifications
Let’s hope for the restrictions of AM vs. Jag
Been messing with some of the Aston Martin’s and was able to improve over my Exige time on Cloverleaf by almost 2 seconds with a rally tire AM DBS. Really like the way it drives.
The Vantage GT12 takes well to drag tires for those that like to experiment with drag tire builds. Could be a good one to get out in front of the AI quickly.
Alright take two…

Jag LW E-Type (TGM) - 1:37.514
Jag F-Type SVR (Flok2104) - 1:37.706
Jag C-Type (Saeenu) - 1:37.848

AM DB11 (TGM) - 1:38.332

AM DB5 (TGM) - 1:39.300
Jag XKR-S GT (XTR Xtremus) - 1:39.750
Much better overall restriction but the strongest car here doesn’t really even trouble my Exige time, I improved the build + time as well this morning, pointlessly as it turns out lol.
I’m level with this guy on the board now so since it obviously can’t be visible on the leaderboard here’s the Jag’s run vs them…
Came across lots of RWD and purist/no aero builds on these cars so hence why I ended up building + tuning a lot of them myself so that they were better suited to Cloverleaf + auto, I’ll share my XKR on Wednesday.
