Series 41 Playlist Preview - Winter Season 1/4

Trial is B700 starting on Valle Del Rio.

Honda and Acura as a base until the season thread is posted with confirmation, I’m thinking there may be an additional bit to it with the standard S2000 being the Honda that’s in the thumbnail, but there’s several possibilities if that’s the case.

Based on the 2 DLC PR Stunts I’m confident Mexico’s are just a very straightforward C Anything Goes, those 3 cars in the thumbnails share nothing apart from all being C class.

Treasure requirement should be ‘Take a picture of any Ferrari 458 in front an igloo inside the Winter Wonderland in the stadium’.

Photo challenge self explanatory, any Elise outside the La Casa Solariega player house (next to Teotihuacan drag strip).

My rubbish eyes can’t really make out much in the SC thumbnails but I would guess that’s an R32 in the thumbnail for the SC rewarding this week’s other new exclusive, as long as that’s correct that championship will be a nice, simple B700 Nissan.

So for anyone who’s just after the 20pts ASAP…

Trial - 10
SC for the new Nissan - 15
Mainland PR Stunts - 21

Alternatively still do the top 2, then the 4 monthly Rivals followed by one PR Stunt, or if you’re lucky/do the SC solo get the Showoff skill during the Trial or SC.

Thanks. Max said he’d put up the season thread on Monday, so I’ll go to work on the Honda’s and Acura’s this weekend.

When I looked at the Trial thumbnail, I was initially thinking it was Lookout circuit but relieved that it’s Valle Del Rio. Tired of Lookout and it’s not a track that I usually perform well on, if I’m being honest.

Big Thanks Guys! :+1: :hugs:

I’ll test the rest of the cars over this weekend but this will be staying as my leaderboard entry…

I expect several cars to be capable of better than this but honestly I’d rather be showing as in the Prelude, it’s something I pretty much never see on boards anywhere.

I won’t be intentionally going slower though, just rewinding on any run where it looks like I’m set to beat the Prelude’s time.

For any MC players looking in here the strongest option is visible in the screenshot, and TheDannny is at #11 with it further up, it’s been a FWD meta car right from day one.

That 2021 Bentley will be getting offroad tyres converted into a rally toy very quickly. :joy: I have had so much fun with the other Bentley’s so far.

Amazing time with the Prelude!! I feel like I need to go back to the drawing board with my Prelude tune because it would be lucky to get within 10 seconds of that time.

I’ve done well with a street tire '74 Civic on some leaderboards in the past but decided to try a drag tire build with it this time.
Just made it to #108 on the Valle Del Rio leaderboard and feeling pretty good about the way it handles.
I think a good driver could do much better.

Shared the tune as a Trial test if anyone wants to try it out.

B Honda + Acura (Valle Del Rio Sprint)

Civic '74 (Rexazr) - 2:43.665
Acura Integra (TGM) - 2:44.373
Honda S2000 CR (TGM) - 2:44.607
Honda Prelude (TGM) - 2:44.748
Honda CR-X (TGM) - 2:44.999
Acura RSX (TGM) - 2:45.674
Civic '84 (KGrGunMan) - 2:45.708
Civic '97 (Saeenu ‘1:02.9 Estadio B’) - 2:45.908

NSX-R '92 (TGM) - 2:45.925
NSX-R '05 (TGM) - 2:46.068
Civic '07 (TGM) - 2:46.342
Civic '04 (TGM) - 2:46.450
Honda S2000 (Mustuff124) - 2:48.169
Civic '16 (stock) - 2:50.730

And just for a bit of fun…

Ridgeline Trophy Truck (TGM) - 2:55.101

Entirely expected there at the top but good to see a most popular tune justifying it’s position for a change, very very good tune.

Sacrificed a bit of power on my Prelude for street tires and found that bit of improvement at the end before posting this, bumped it up another 4 places from the screenshot further up.

Made sure they were all AWD since that’s still likely to be what most people opt for even though several are stronger FWD, could have ran AWD + drags on both the Civic '16 and '18 but I thought why not just run the '16 stock since it’s at 699PI, can’t imagine either of them would be anything special considering what their power to weight is with that setup.

I threw the Trophy Truck in at the end as a joke but honestly? Nowhere near as bad as I thought, straight line speed was actually more of an issue than it’s cornering, and with the LFA V10 swapped in it’s easily the best sounding vehicle here, if it’s eligible I may try winning both/all 3 races in a Trial with it, haven’t done one of those little challenges in a while.

Made some adjustments to my drag tire '74 Civic based on some feed back, and was able to improve to #82 on the leaderboard.

That being said, street tires are the way to go with the Civic. A bit of a failed experiment but it was fun to tinker with the build.

The first one I tried was the 16 Civic (edit: Type R … not 16 civic coupe) on drag tires. Managed a 02:45.933, good for #46, but …

… with no ABS on, the thing is abominable. Braking zones are interminable. Insufferable. It locks up with about 10% pressure, causing me to yell at the TV. Im pretty sure it can do much better than 2:45.9, but not by me, because me and this thing are parting ways inamicably.

Its not a personal favorite, i think is what Im trying to say. Quick though … if Im within 2 or 3 seconds of top drivers in top cars with a run that wasnt one of my best, it must be pretty quick. On to something else …

I got just a little playing time last night and today and spent it testing B class Hondas. I like the sprint snd the choice of class. I hadnt driven any besides the NSX, kinda because it seems like there’s a lot of strong B class options from them and I try to not max out in rivals.

The 3 ive driven besides that FWD 16 Civic were: a FWD 18 civic, a RWD S2000 CR, and a FWD 07 Civic.

These FWDs gotta be quicker than AWD versions, and they fit this first sprint. But i worry about them dealing with trial traffic in an early braking zone in whatever the 2nd race is.

Drove the 18 Civic first. Starts out in A class with 727 PI, so tunes for it would be hard to find. Drag tires, FWD, front and rear aero. Much better than the 16 Civic Type R. Easier to drive, and gapped my 16 Civic ghost on straights despite being 80+ kilograms heavy and slightly less power. First run was 02:45.2 where I completely botched the first 2 corners but was pretty good for the whole rest of the run. Made for a good ghost to run against. My last of about 5 runs was this 02:45.032.

I quickly got more than 1 second ahead of the ghost … at least, big lead … and then the ghost steadily ran me down and almost caught me. In the runs in between, I had gotten even bigger leads in the first 30 seconds, but I kept choking. Its not as frustrating as that 16 Civic, but braking and getting back on the power require finesse. In a more fun way. Im going to stick with this one for my rivals car. Looks kinda nice for a Civic and it seems not widely used. My goal when I get back to it is 2:43s. It can do at least that.

Then I drove the RWD S2000 CR. Front and rear aero, stock engine with the supercharger, race weight, drag tires.

2:44.398.

I rewound at the end to dirty it. I drive the RWDs in B better than I do the FWDs in B, but the braking was still tricky. This 2:44.398 is about my limit, as good as I could do it in.

Then I drove the FWD 07 Civic. Front and rear aero, stock engine, no weight reduction, drag tires.

2:44.799 on the first clean run, rewound to dirty it … then I lost the TV to family. sigh

Ive seen the 07 Civic on a lot of leaderboards, and that thing is no joke. One of the ugliest cars in game, but its no joke at all. It gaps the other three i drove into the first turn, and holds that turn without dipping below 131 mph. I may need to mess with the ARBs because I was getting a little body roll, but it doesnt sacrifice handling for all that power. That thing is a real good option.

Im probably going to share all these tunes when I get back on. Definitely the 18 Civic.

Long posts like my last one are what happens when i get forced to stop playing when my brain isnt ready to stop thinking FH5. I shared 2 tunes if anyone’s interested:

18 Civic … 495 128 879
07 Civic … 136 173 528

I use MC with no other assists. Im guessing they wont be as quick using the automatic transmission, but would probably be a lot easier to drive using ABS.

Both should be able to get top 25 times at Valle Del Rio in somebody’s hands.

You’ve no idea how refreshing it is to see a MC user simply doing their own thing instead of a being a sweat obsessed with an auto user who’s unable to do anything off their own back, one who I kindly asked to stop weeks ago but is still doing it.

:+1:

does this help?

I’ve upscaled the available images to 4K and they look a bit clearer

if anyone wants the upscaled 4K versions that I am going to use. I have added them below

Cheers for those @Lostphoenixuk

It is an R32 in the Nissan one so that should be B700 Nissan/Nissan Skyline.

The other SC based on it’s name + thumbnail car seems to lead me to a strange one, A800 Dodge Challenger (hopefully not just that one in the thumbnail as it sucks, the old one won’t be amazing at A class but at least better than that) but hopefully it’s Dodge as a whole.

I was hoping Max would have the playlist thread up by now since he mentioned he’d put it up today.

Guess I’ll start working on the Nissan Skylines in the meantime.

Skylines and Challengers having a limited number of eligible cars would at least give me time for proper testing.

Already have tunes for them but I’ve wanted to revisit them to try to improve them with some new things I’ve learned since I last tuned them.

I’m going B Nissan and A Challenger/Charger in my provisional list but lets see what Max gives us

it’s still Monday in America for a few more hours so there is still time. The thing that’s bugging me at the moment is that I have a good run on the Speed Zone but the Danger Sign and Trailblazer are not in game yet (limited time events) so I cannot test things there

the closest I found previously is B Class Offroad for the Trailblazer where it was 2 seconds remaining and 400.3 FT for C Class Holden for the Jump

Ranchito last time was B Class Mustang 2000 at 75MPH
