Only problem I see coming up with this is that the AI never drives true RWD cars. I don’t think I have ever seen the back end of a drivatar’s car break out (they did in FH4 though iirc).
I haven’t looked at which cars are being featured, but if there are any tail happy cars in there it might become quite an interesting challenge.
I have to say though I really like how RWD cars handle in this game.
Edit: I have seen them swerve but it seems to be more of a strange path finding issue than a car handling problem
Most of the cars I have are upgraded and tuned for specific classes, and I’m not going to bother returning them to stock or buying stock, even more reason to quit doing the season and series events, will just wait for the DLC now.
The only things adjustable for the stock version are tire pressure and rear wing. I found out that setting the latter to it’s lowest makes it really hard for me to stay in control.
You can obtain the cars required to complete the Trial in each season by completing another event within that weekly playlist, so no reason to detune or purchase one
There was a discussion on that in another thread or earlier in this one, do not know the outcome.
Question was whether it would be aloud to change those settings that can be changed on a stock car, like the tire pressure that is ‘always’ adjustable, and in the case of a 190E the rear wing, for those ‘stock only’ Trials.
Sounds like a plan ! I’ve been down to 1 more car to buy on that accolade for a while, waiting for a “special” occasion, seems like you and Forza is saying this is it !
So I did an interesting experiment with a stock car and expert drivatars to simulate the Trial.
On the 1 mile drag strip. Unbeatable setting.
I set the gears on mine to do 140mph. Stock is 134mph.
I came last every time, I guess they are manual/clutch acceleration level. I use Auto.
They were still accelerating away from me at 141mph. Or it seemed so.
I did it again, completely stock and the exact same thing happened. They still keep going a bit, when I max out at 134mph. Or it appears that way.
So, if the Trial is in stock drivatars cars next month, and we are forced to use stock cars too. Which they appear to have said in the last stream. God help us.
I may be right, I may be wrong. Not an exact experiment, only straight line speed. We’ll see soon.
I’m guessing the Drivatar following the driving line will play a factor. I know in the bone stock Jimmy tour race I mentioned above it was a race, no run-away AI cornering on rails and never braking. It felt fair with a lot of jostling for position and using skills to win. I’m hoping this Stock Trial series feels the same.
I’ve always thought drivatars have an advantage in a straight line sprint, you’ll only out sprint them if you have a higher PI car.Cornering is where you get an advantage,as they are almost always fast in slow out, unless you are unlucky and encounter the occasional ‘on rails’ ones
With the BMW M2 for the autumn trial being the most powerful of the series at A718, I give these trials a better chance than some of the S2-class trials we’ve had in the past.
Been dabbling a bit with the tire pressure and wing downforce on the M-B and it does seem to be helping, or I’m just getting used to the “handling” lol. What PassionWagon69 (iirc) said about keeping the back end tracking is on, doesn’t take much to make it squirrely ! More driving and tuning definitely needed. It’s growing on me though lol. I just hope the tracks are suitable to the car, it’s horrible in some conditions.
Just had a dabble and I think I’ll struggle a bit. Had a few goes on Playa Azul and whilst I did improve over my 3 runs the drivatars where away doing all the damage on the first half a lap. They obviously weren’t in the same car so that gives some hope but we’ll see.
