SBMM...Skill Based Match Making

I haven’t played Forza a lot…well enough (35 hours). Mostly a COD player…this is a sensitive subject for FPS games.

Anyway, my question is when I go multiplayer and thrown into a match what is the criteria used?

Is it just based on best connection or does Forza rate players and put them into a lobby of of equal drivers? SBMM for FPS is debatable, but would be perfect for Forza.

Driver skill ratings used in matchmaking would separate the drivers just playing for fun from those who take the game more seriously.

Forza uses trueskill for matchmaking just like every other game on xbox.

The problem forza has compared to cod or halo is that the player pool is significantly smaller and as such there is not enough to adequately match skill levels and have full hoppers. The true top 1% will always end up in lower skilled lobbies.

Try leagues. Pinnacle has been insanely competitive in the C class ghost league now that glitch cars are gone. I’ve been in many lobbies where 10-15 people are running laps within a half second of each other.

Leagues are truly where it’s at for me. Never have I been in a lobby as competitive as last night, 2 hours of very intense racing in the V8 supercar league. If we could all just hear and talk to each other I’d be in heaven.

Didn’t think about the player pool.

Yea, I’ll try leagues…still feel like I need more practice doing rivals. Soon. Thanks!
