I’m kind of getting frustrated with this. I generally jump in and out of games, and I do a practice and race and then close out of the game. I figured the game would save after the race, but no, I have to repeat the race again (it has saved all my progress, except for finishing the race).
Where is the best place to drop out of a series to get the race progress saved? Do I have to start a new race to get accepted into it?
The game is basically unplayable for me at the moment. Saving seems to make zero sense. I have lost progress on multiple occasions, have had it hang endlessly when trying to upgrade or purchase a car, with the only fix being to close out of the game and relaunch.
When I would relaunch, I would typically lose progress for the last practice and race I completed. That happened 4 different times. So, I figured that as long as I don’t go into those menus the likelihood of a crash/hang would be significantly reduced. Went ahead and finished the championship (where I already had to replay Watkins Glen 3 times due to these bugs) then went into the next one.
Tried to purchase a car, got the same issue again, closed and relaunched the game, and then came back and lost the last 2 practice sessions & races.
It’s incredibly frustrating. Seems to be server-related but as far as I can tell it doesn’t tell you when it’s lost sync, and there is seemingly no way to get it back online unless you relaunch the game. I want to play this game, but am sick of losing progress every time…
Genuinely surprising how many issues there are with FM given the very lengthy dev cycle.
Same darn thing is happening with me. It’s not the save point but a mjor bug. I literally can’t progress in my career anymore. Tried doing multiple races from different cups but i always end up having not played them the next time I boot the game.
I’ve left it aside till the time they fix this mess. I feel like burnt the money i spent on buying the premium edition 
Same here got so fed up with re-dong the same carreer 1-2 or even 3 races before, that I have already completed, that I just shut it off.
Ground up rebuild ?? … doesn’t look any better than FM7, has less tracks and cars and a stupid way to upgrade cars FM 6.5 more like, (except 6 was still better.)
Way to spend 6 years T10, If I was this poor at my job, I wouldn’t have one.
TBH if they upgraded FM2 or 3 to modern graphics and nothing else, I would be very happy. Its been downhill ever since in terms of gameplay IMO.
I digress, though , back on topic, how on earth was such a fundamental progress save bug not spotted by anyone before going live ?
i experienced this bug this morning, for now i am ignoring career mode until it gets fixed. i think it has to do with career being online only and their servers go down at some point when you are racing without telling you so it stops saving any progress.

Yep hung up at me as well. I’m suspecting there are big server issues at their end causing problems.
I completed the whole built for sport tour, won the trophy and exited.
Load the game up next day and lost the last 4 races progress, back to Maple Valley.
Same happened in Practical performance, had to do Watkins Glen 3 times.
Totally unplayable in Career Mode.
I haven’t seen this yet. I belive i’ve only done 3 or 4 of the builders cup series so far though. Is this on PC, Xbox, or both?
Same with me. I haven’t been able to complete the first tour practical performance since early access started on Thursday. Every time I close the game app on my series X races that I have completed get wiped. I finished the tour twice only to load the app up and I’m back to the start of practical performance each time. Ive given up now until they fix it… just been levelling up cars in free play to pass the time
Same save issue for me. Having to repeat races each time I start a session.
Any comment from T10?
You can force a save by dropping back to the main screen and purchasing a car … but that can hang with the roulette wheel of death as I call it, so you can try that gamble if you wish.
Every platform, Xbox and PC including Steam. Not limited to BuildersCup, every thing goes away like player level, CR, Upgrades, every thing lost.
This issue is the worst.
Tested that yesterday, next session the car is not in my garage and CR restored as its been before the purchase.
Still happening after update not happy
