Save data deleted / reset by latest update

I am aware others are also encountering the same issue but not necessarily to do with the latest update but yesterday I started the game after downloading the latest update and my save data was either deleted or reset. When the game started I was treated as if I were a new player just starting the game for the first time and forced to watch the intro etc. When I got in-game I had realised that everything had been reset; collector level, driver level, achievements, unlocks, cars, drive gear, money…EVERYTHING is gone. I was level 39 car collector level, over 150 driver levels, had every car in the game that was unlockable / purchasable at car collector level 39, owned every driver suit including the Halloween “mummy” costume and had completed every Forzathon, purchased every special dealer car and had about 16 million credits spare.

I now have nothing. I was told to email forzafb@microsoft.com and explain my situation but I have not even had an acknowledgement that the issue is being worked on by anyone. Has ANYONE had their account restored after this kind of thing took place or am I just going to have to stop playing FM7 now because getting back everything I had unlocked will mean I have to put a LOT of time into the game again after I had previously unlocked everything and progressed a long way. Feels like I am talking to a brick-wall and that reporting the issue basically did nothing…

I am not aware of anyone who has had their save fully restored by Forza Support.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to stop by and give a quick update. (For future updates, please see the announcement: https://forums.forzamoto…st-for-information.aspx for more information going forward).

We are still looking into the cause of the issue. We had started to gift people back items but then soon discovered that this was repeatedly happening for some. We have decided to not gift anything else at this time for fear you will lose it all over again. Once we have a fix in place, we will be able to gift back items such as cars, credits, driver gear and garage value. Unfortunately, we are unable to gift back any progress.

We will keep you guys updated via the post above.

You can see my detailed post on the thread above. In a nut shell my Local Save seemed to be corrupted, but my Cloud Save was fine. When I initially noticed my Game Save did not load correctly - I did not proceed forward, nor choose a character etc. It turns out the bug was inhibiting the good Cloud Save from Syncing/Loading. I deleted my local progress and correct Cloud Sync restored my progress.

Mileage may vary, and if anyone does any troubleshooting on their own - proceed at your own risk. I read up on this for a week, and only took measures that I deemed would not make things worse.

Unfortunately I allowed the game to go through the cinematic at the beginning instead of just exiting and quitting, I got to the menus to find all my stuff had been reset. I’ve tried deleting my local save and have it sync from the cloud today but it seems that just restored a save that was right after the reset so I am going to have to wait for a fix of some kind. Kind of ridiculous that I paid extra for the deluxe edition and now have nothing, including the VIP reward mods I still had left and the other stuff I had earned from the 100s of hours of racing I put in. It’s seriously frustrating not knowing when they’re going to be able to start giving me my stuff back, I don’t dare play the game at all now in case it somehow inhibits them being able to fix my game and if they’re going to be able to do something about it.

Have had this EXACT issue for a few days now. I host a Tuesday night race series for NASA/SCCA guys (we run T2/T4, NASA GTS, etc), and it wiped clean all my statistics (back to 0). Contacted forzafb@microsoft.com and I DID get a response, but it didn’t sound like a solution was closeby sadly. Hopefully it’ll all be restored asap. This problem also does NOT allow you to collect credits in the auction house for cars sold. I had a bunch of high-end racecars up for sale in the auction house prior to this problem and now cannot collect money or put cars up for sale. Forzathon is disabled as well. I’m S.O.L. right now.

I have my Xbox set for auto update for some reason it did not update F7 so when I went to start game I git an update game message after 2 CTD while it was updating update failed and wiped the entire game of the Consol so now have no game till the 97gig is fully installed again so gone from a measly 400meg update to a full reinstall just what I needed.
