I already do this to an extent, I race my friends times but on a couple of boards I might actually be top of my friends times.

Admittedly this is because they’ve not all spent as much time doing rivals as I have - The HLC Jezza has kicked off in the last week shows me how woefully slow I can be lol.

Still I think it’s a good thing that Max has said they are looking at it and hopefully they do manage to get there and then we can at least all compete on an even keel - even if that still means I won’t be at the top of any LB’s anytime soon

the problem (I assume) with just removing the obviously dodgy LB times/distances etc is if they do that then the cheaters wise up and to use the example from above start posting distances of 1001 or 999 rather than 12,000 making weeding them out just by looking at the results impossible. They really need to address the cause prior to doing any wipes, otherwise itll just be pointless. The best bet is to add the people you trust to your friends list and then judge yourself against those LB times in the friends and clubs selection and totally ignore the cheater everyones in them LBs or to join legit racing clubs like tora and race in their events where you know everyone taking part is playing on an even field

Youre just too fast, Ill never need to worry about coming in top of the LBs of my FL lol

The trick is to find the stuff they’ve not all got around to - may I recommend D class to you - everyone jumps in the higher classes but lots of fun to be had in the lower classes and much smaller numbers on the boards currently to compete against!

yeah I definitely prefer the lower classes, anything over A class is just too fast. I did once have a number 1 spot on the world LBs… but I think it was cataluna reverse, in e class, 3 weeks prior to the game going live …but I have that LB screenshotted somewhere lol

Yup, been there done that. a #1 is a #1

Glad to know I’m not the only one to take pleasure in such small victories.

Is there any way to filter the FH5 leaderboards so that I’m only looking at Xbox players?

I don’t want to scroll through hundreds of results to find where the Danger Sign distances drop from 15 000 Metres down to legitimate ones. From memory, this option was available of FH3 but not FH4.

History has shown that these obvious cheaters are allowed to remain on the FH leaderboards so at least give me an option so I don’t have to look at leaderboards that include PC. I understand that it is only a minority of players that cheat but I believe its reasonable to say that most of them are all on PC.

It boggles me how these ridiculous times / distances / scores etc are allowed to exist on the leaderboards.

If you think that PC players are the only ones abusing bugs for long distance jumps and whatnot, then you’ve not been paying attention mate. You also aren’t paying attention to what the devs have been saying all over the place, because they literally addressed exactly this just last week.

I don’t remember them giving a concrete answer, just a vague one to address the issue somehow, sometime. Correct me if I’m wrong and they committed to some specific action.

I’m not paying attention?! That must make both of us - if you read my post instead of getting your back up you’d see that I never said PC players are the ā€˜only’ ones. Woosah dude.

So they ā€˜literally addressed this just last week’?..I’m sorry but talk is cheap. I’ll believe it when they actually act and I see clean leaderboards - and clean leaderboards maintained. Until then, it’s nothing but words.

There’s no way to properly clean any leaderboard and there’s no way to maintain that. Even if you build a perfect anticheat program players will find new ways, ban them and they will make another account. Now you have a problem with 10000 feet, tomorrow you will have a problem with 100 feet, because a cheat is a cheat. Than you have those that exploit the game. I don’t think is fair to permaban someone for exploit. And I believe the devs think that too.
But maintaining the LB clean is an utopia. Firstly who is willing to watch LBs all day searching for new cheaters? How many of those workers would they need and not lastly, how much would that cost?
Remember, cheating is solely our fault. We cheat and only we can’t prevent it to happen. Yet we are expecting them to clean all our mess fast and for free.

Now somebody is trying to clean our poop instead of using that time and resources for something useful instead.

Defeatist but sadly a realistic outlook. An occasional good faith gesture of removing the ridiculous LB standings would still go a long way as opposed to …cough cough…absolutely nothing.

Firstly who is willing to watch LBs all day searching for new cheaters?
I don’t care. It’s not my job to have those answers or develop a solution. I paid for a product that includes features which evidently do not provide the intended experience. I am not responsible for removing bogus LB placings.

Remember, cheating is solely our fault.
ā€˜Our fault’…speak for yourself! I’m guessing you mean the Forza community in general. It is the cheater’s fault but - give them an inch an they’ll take a mile. All 500 miles per hour in a D class VW through a speed camera.

Now somebody is trying to clean our instead of using that time and resources for something useful instead.
That is subjective. It’s ā€˜useful’ and important to how ā€˜I’ play the game. Thankfully the LB can at least be filtered to friends and clubs.

Apparently they don’t think that. People have been banned for using AFK to do the 100 mile daily, even though that is using an in-game function.

You are invoking the perfect solution fallacy as a reason not to do anything about the leaderboards.

I care about the rivals mode but the large number of inappropriate times makes me far less inclined to participate in it. Also, I would have the sword of Damocles hanging over my times because it has not been announced whether the boards will be reset or wiped, potentially removing all existing times, whether legit or not. Anyone putting time into rivals at the moment should consider this.

We aren’t allowed to discuss it here or I’d explain and give links but it was discussed on reddit and the True Achievements forum.

(I assume you know what AFK means.)

Yeah can see something on ta with ban for ā€œUnaccounted for Credits and/or XPā€ but thats afk farming in goliath (not simple 100miles). And AFK is not an in-game function so nothing wrong with it (maybe not worth perma ban but yeah).

Edit:
Found out 100 miles is ~161KM so its ~10x highway from one end to other sounds not that hard and no afk needed to complete

Who said it’s hard? It’s just pointless? Took me 1hr.

Was doing it atm and took me 50min to complete whole thing (wasted some time taking promo pictures). Fun part the tune was called something like ā€œxxx AFKā€ but why ppl think about doing it afk (or cheating)? U can have fun in Horizon or do some boring afk bs (cheat)… DriftArcade started at one side of highway so was doing this 4minutes and completed the playlist thingy. With all the stuff on highway and the S2 917 tune it was easy to unlock car mastery and collect the 2 SW in it

Anyway what’s the point of sitting on #1 in leaderboard with some 00:00,147? All it says is ā€œI’m the biggest N00b hereā€

Don’t put words in my mouth just to appear smarter. I said there’s no perfect solution and because of that players won’t be happy anyway.
