Rivals: Drift Zone crashes game when car crosses the starting line

We’re observing a crash after Update 13 in each Welcome to Drift rivals event; The event starts correctly in a flying lap but crashes the game when the car first crosses the Starting line to start the lap.

Status: We’ve temporarily removed Drift events from the Rivals menu to avoid causing game crash issues. We’ll restore these as soon as we have a fix ready.

If you experience crashing in Drift Mode events in Free Play, please open a separate topic.

Game crashes when attempting the Drift Rivals event at Grand Oak. I get to the start line no issue but when I cross the start line it crashes to Dashboard. I’ve submitted a ticket. Thanks Guys

System: Xbox Series X

Hi wonderful Forza Family. I just updated the game Series 13 and I was attempting the Drift Rivals event. I get to load Grand Oak no issue and when I cross the start line it crashes to Dashboard on the Xbox series X. I’ve submitted a ticket but want to put it in here also.

Thank you so much Devs for your tireless efforts you put into making this the Ultimate racing game.

Everything at stock speeds, no overclocks. My system is rock solid in stress tests. When running rivals, drift-101 first time across the start/finish line the game freezes and then closes. I tried adding some voltage to my 3090 and no-go. Rebooted and it still happens. I am not having any other game issues at all, everything else works as expected. I’m not sure what could be causing this, anyone else having freezes???

Update: The drift rivals event has been removed from the game. Turn 10 issued a hotfix that took it away (about half hour ago). So thankfully there’s a fix coming. Thanks Turn 10 xxx

Yes, this is just a temporary measure so we can prevent players from experiencing a game crash - we’ll get the events back up and running smoothly ASAP!

I’m curious to know what hardware the game was tested on, like cpu/gpu/ddr4/ddr5/win10/win11, what kind of testing rigs does turn10 use?

Why? It crashed on xsx as well

No worries at all. There’s lots to do to keep us busy. Thanks again.

Yeah i tried it on my X as well, should be easy to fix. I’m hoping it’s added to the next patch.

Interesting thing happened - I was playing the game, read the post above about the drift events being removed, got a “new content is available”. That got downloaded in the same session, back to the main menu (no restart).

Then checked to see if drift events were available - they were! So I thought you must have already fixed them, joined and could set times/scores fine until I exited. Leaderboard didn’t fully work though.

Now they ARE gone from my game

Just FYI, T10.

Im still waiting to run my first drift event, I honestly thought someone would have fixed the issue by now. Crossing the start/finish line triggers the crash, I was hoping they could easily see what was being triggered at that precise moment and fix it. I wonder how this passed QA on the Xbox side of things considering all Xbox’s are the exact same, obviously no one tested it, unbelievable really…
