Very wet and windy w’end here so sounds like the perfect antidote, I doubt i’ll offer much of a challenge for you but count me in.
On a side mote, I nearly bit the bullet of getting FM8 only to discover it’s not compatable with my old One S, so that switch is going to be on the back burner for a while.
I like the game, but I’ve been thinking I’ll stop and wait until it’s more complete and issues addressed. the overall vibe seems to be “public beta test” which would have been actually fine if on gamepass only, but I’m glad i didnt pay $100 for it now
Probably will jump in time available being the issue here. Last couple of days spent some time finally achieving the last 25 or so ‘clean laps accolades’ including the unappreciated ones in HW. Mostly done in S1 (C8 Chevy) and the Elise GT1 on a dirt tune. Almost all a very safe and not quick runs .
With FM I am seeing a rendering problem. After driving several laps on a long track the road doesn’t render. There’s nothing there and I can see under environmental objects and the cars in front of me. It used to happen on FH and it took a few game/driver iterations before they fixed it.
Since the patch I cut MP off. Spending ~15 minutes in practice and qualify to then have blackscreen/infinite loading into the race isn’t worth it.
Happened in 3 out of 5 cases on Series X.
I’m just afk farming cars to level 25 to check the possible builds. If something looks promising I’ll farm it till it has enough car points.
The AMG GT Black Series for example has the 3.2l I6 which has a centrifugal supercharger in this game and boosts all 3 AMG I tested (E63 S, GT4 door, GT BS) by a lot. It’s missing an engine sound though.
I rinse and repeat the farming while doing more useful stuff alongside.
Also started engine glitching to test detunes. At this point these glitch builds are everywhere anyway.
S800 McLaren P1 and A700 Vuhl are a lot of fun while not being op.
Outside of the obvious issues I wish there was a way to filter rival leaderboards based on car. That way I could easily find new tunes without manually scrolling through all cars and trying to determine if the tune is shared or not.
Aside from that I just wish the menus and all were more user friendly and snappier. For example why do I need to select my car everytime I do anything such as tune, paint or race. Can it not simply remember the last car I’ve been using and at the very least put this first in the garage just like how it is in FH5. Also why does it feel like a backend request is sent for each menu load. Is there no form of caching?
Took a little over a second off the SafariZ using the '85 Safari Turbo, which is an off-meta favourite of mine for A class dirt. Tried a couple tunes on the Tsuru after seeing that nice time from CashlessPlains and it either has the pace or the handling but unfortunately I couldn’t find a tune that married the two.
The Tsuru kinda surprised me. That’s a tune I made with the 2.0L I4 turbo swap. I may go back and see if I can get a better time but it’s doubtful I will be able to better my previous one.
your A800 tsuru times surprised me too, I ran 5 cars against it before beating you in midnight battle with ARX, then GT40, but those are serious cars, tsuru holds its own
There’s no FM rivals yet here or else where right? I’m not sure about y’all but I’m pretty keen to start. Could host one event per week in both FH and FM.
I won’t be participating but if you’s want a suggestion for a restriction how about the #93 Civic? Seeing as the game gives it everyone for free when they first jump into MP so it’s a car everyone is pretty much guaranteed to have already + likely levelled up to some degree.
I have changed some of the requirements over at Forza Motorsport / Horizon 5 Rivals Racing Challenges to make it more accessible for new players to join in on the challenges covering the new Forza Motorsport and FH5 as well. So if you are looking for extra content please drop by and check it out. Thanks @Jezza14 for giving us a forum like yours to advertise ours on. It is very much appreciated. Race fast my friends.
I know this thread seems all but dead now, so i’ve been running rivals solo on tracks / classes i’ve no times set.
After almost two years of playing, I’m amazed at how many I have with no time on… Is it just me or anyone else finding the same.
Anyway just saying, so if any notifications pop up, it’s not a challenge, just me trying to set times on all tracks.
“Great minds” & all that; been doing the exact same thing over the weekend (case in POINT if you’re interested). I also hope it’s not blowing up friend’s inboxes with notifications, bc I know how annoying that can be; apologies if so. I know Geist called me out on a couple so I’m sure it’s happening, but many seem to be solely focused on FM.
