Rivals Challenge - FH5 Edition

Outside of the obvious issues I wish there was a way to filter rival leaderboards based on car. That way I could easily find new tunes without manually scrolling through all cars and trying to determine if the tune is shared or not.

Aside from that I just wish the menus and all were more user friendly and snappier. For example why do I need to select my car everytime I do anything such as tune, paint or race. Can it not simply remember the last car I’ve been using and at the very least put this first in the garage just like how it is in FH5. Also why does it feel like a backend request is sent for each menu load. Is there no form of caching?

Took a little over a second off the SafariZ using the '85 Safari Turbo, which is an off-meta favourite of mine for A class dirt. Tried a couple tunes on the Tsuru after seeing that nice time from CashlessPlains and it either has the pace or the handling but unfortunately I couldn’t find a tune that married the two.

The Tsuru kinda surprised me. :woman_shrugging: That’s a tune I made with the 2.0L I4 turbo swap. I may go back and see if I can get a better time but it’s doubtful I will be able to better my previous one. :smiling_face_with_tear:

your A800 tsuru times surprised me too, I ran 5 cars against it before beating you in midnight battle with ARX, then GT40, but those are serious cars, tsuru holds its own

There’s no FM rivals yet here or else where right? I’m not sure about y’all but I’m pretty keen to start. Could host one event per week in both FH and FM.

I’m up for FM rivals! There are quite a few ready made events so we can start with those to make it simpler.

Everyone go see my suggestions for FM features!

I won’t be participating but if you’s want a suggestion for a restriction how about the #93 Civic? Seeing as the game gives it everyone for free when they first jump into MP so it’s a car everyone is pretty much guaranteed to have already + likely levelled up to some degree.

you can set world records in Horizon off of 2 wheelspins, FM is lacking accessibility

I have changed some of the requirements over at Forza Motorsport / Horizon 5 Rivals Racing Challenges to make it more accessible for new players to join in on the challenges covering the new Forza Motorsport and FH5 as well. So if you are looking for extra content please drop by and check it out. Thanks @Jezza14 for giving us a forum like yours to advertise ours on. It is very much appreciated. Race fast my friends.

I know this thread seems all but dead now, so i’ve been running rivals solo on tracks / classes i’ve no times set.
After almost two years of playing, I’m amazed at how many I have with no time on… Is it just me or anyone else finding the same.

Anyway just saying, so if any notifications pop up, it’s not a challenge, just me trying to set times on all tracks.

“Great minds” & all that; been doing the exact same thing over the weekend (case in POINT if you’re interested). I also hope it’s not blowing up friend’s inboxes with notifications, bc I know how annoying that can be; apologies if so. I know Geist called me out on a couple so I’m sure it’s happening, but many seem to be solely focused on FM.

I started the same thing about two weeks ago. When finally setting a clean lap on all events I realized you can set those for each class, so plenty to go. To bad it’s hard to search for so now I need to visit them all.

I’ve been shocked to find C600 dirt and cc times I haven’t set in the past week. maybe they’re getting erased randomly

To be fair, I probably would be too if it was compatible with the One S but right now it’s the wrong time of year to lay out £500 + for a new console and game. Not that I would of got a new console just for that anyway, with all the negativity but if the compatibility wasn’t an issue, than I probably would of given it a try. Oh well, their lose.

I thought that initially after running around the map, now I just go through the tracks / classes from the “Online” tab then “Rivals” although I guess you knew that already.

That crossed my mind too but rejected the idea as I could see no reason for it logically, especially as they don’t even remove the blatent cheated times.

I think the game is just huge. I don’t recognize race names sometimes, and there’s 6 rivals classes for each one

If they were old rivals times (first couple months of the game) they could very well be deleted, I lost several that way. I lost a few times when they purged the leaderboards in the spring as well, but most of them seem to be back.

I haven’t been active lately but still growing the forums. I think I’m about done with FM. Between the problems with tunes not showing up in searches, people out right stealing tunes and saving it as their own. The crazy time penalties in multiplayer. It’s pretty disappointing because I was really looking forward to the launch of FM. Sorry for the high Jack but I know a lot of you have already given up on FM and I think I’m about there….

We’ll take you back, for sure!

I hope they get all the issues sorted before FH6 starts getting built. I don’t want to be the grumpy curmudgeon playing the previous generation of the game because “back in my day…”

They are meant to be fixing the “tune steal” bug in the next update. Hopefully the problem finding tunes as well (and obviously the instability problems).

It needs a massive content drop though. I’ve only been playing single player so far and there just aren’t enough tracks or championships. As I understand it, multiplayer is also really limited each week.

Still having fun running Rivals times in FH5 & decided to try a personal challenge that I’ve not completed before; set a personal best clean time for each class on a specific course. Just finished this & have to say it was pretty interesting to see the results trying a lot of different cars & tunes. Repeatedly running the course at different classes also made it much easier to adapt each new car. I started out at S2, then sequently down to D, trying multiple cars & tunes for each class, setting a time, then running against my previous PB to see which cars came out on top. Pretty fun actually.
