Rivals Challenge - FH5 Edition

I quite like the trial concept this week, so let’s go with that for next week’s event:

Car Type - stock value up to 100,000cr (excluding any car from the Pickup/4x4 category)

Course - River Scramble

Class - A

Ah, that should be fun.

In my humble opinion and having been chasing your ghost most of the week and playing leapfrog with our times (lol), to me there’s nothing wrong with your lines with the possible exception of to tight to the right turning in at 94% mark (in the video at least) but i’ve hit so many lines through that bit, it’s hard to get consistant.
Also what the cockpit view doesn’t show is in a couple of places under deceleration the back end slides out a bit, almost like it’s RWD and i’ve been able to get in front but I think that’s the nature of that tune as I had the same issue, hence my “part 3” (and last tune before switching cars), that seems a little more planted

Personal preferences:
For me, chase view works best as I get distacted by the frantic look of the hands on the wheel when I “think” im running really smooth lol.
Oh, and all deadzones etc for me are default (on the One S and standard controller)

Totally agree & did manage to improve it further as you can see in the latest results. Thanks again for the feedback; it’s appreciated!

Thanks, appreciate the feedback Chea. I know exactly what you mean with the handling characteristics of that tune as I’ve had to compensate for it. It almost seems like the ride height is a little too high & causes some excessive roll, but I think it’s a great tune otherwise.

Definitely agree about the final corners as well & there is significant time to be had if you’re able to get the lines & timing just right, which seems to be the case with so many sections of this route.

Standard steering? I can’t play this game with standard steering. I think you will find yourself much faster going to sim steering. For me standard steering had way to much understeer.

I’ve actually tried both over time & for me (on controller), standard seems to be less problematic overall. I know this topic has come up before & it seems simulated is more suited for wheel users from what I remember.

A fun little battle there, Jezza
Have it down to 52:2 and since I won’t have time tomorrow it’s my end result.
Looking forward to you beating it again!

Ha - I won’t have a chance to run it again as I’m away now. Well played!

Congrats on the latest “leap” & taking back the lead😄 Great time! I think I’m done punishing myself trying to squeeze out anymore on this one…

This is a fun little circuit for sure. Tried the BMW 1M first w/a great tune from @AbsorbedSpy2305 (SC: 735 575 877) handles great.

Then had to have a go with one of my favorites, which is the Exocet with DJS’ “Rally Super Grip”; just hang on, it’s a beast! 01:17 after a few runs with it.

I did the Trial in my road spec Elise (didn’t bother checking race types beforehand) and it was surprisingly good  If there’s any dirt tunes out there for it,should be pretty good.
R500 is fun too,i’m .7 secs behind a time Anon set in a Boneshaker

A couple of seasons ago there was a dirt speed zone challenge for A800. I went with my RWD road tuned lotus that had rally tires. I absolutely killed that challenge with my tune unchanged.

Got down to a “dirty” 1:15.6 with my Mitsubishi Eclipse. There is definitely more in it.

I recently became friends with ugrundy, who’s not a bad dirt racer. he’s in the 600’s at river scramble in a caterham superlight, I’m gonna at least try to beat him with his own tune once I confirm it’s public

afaik I’ve got the fastest LB time with the Caterham r500 atm, just inside the top 300,c1.12 . I only did 30mins with it (sepi tune) and aren’t that fast of a driver, so it has potential for the speed merchants amongst us.
There is a Lotus near to WR time, and zipper is down to the 1.10 in it already,so that may be the car to beat. Only other eligable car i’ve noticed is the Ford Coupe '32

Don’t do it. Don’t use Elise on 1st day.
I was just scrolling through my cars looking for something light and probably found car that will be fastest in our restrictions.
And since I probably will have no motivation to check other cars → if someone wants me to test/build a car, give me a shout

As for Catherham → definitely can recommend KapienPL’s tune over Sepi’s

I would be grateful, if anyone can recommend good tune for Elise. Tried Kapien’s, but don’t like the gearing. In the end set time with my own. Probably can get under 1:10 with it, but need to do more laps.

Ha,you’re right
Caterham was my second try, after the Pulsar. I think anything bar the Elise will suffer because of that. Will try the Lancers and Scoobys ,but knowing FH,the cars that should excel won’t.DeLorean and Supra may get a run too.

can confirm, sepi’s caterham oversteers aggressively. I kinda like it, but it’s unpredictable

I guess that must mean I’m in the speed “peddler” category among us

Ran a clean 01:16+ in the above Exocet after a few more tries & it definitely has more in it. Assuming it doesn’t have the same potential as the Caterham & Elise as a contender for top times based on the comments…
