I agree, it’s nice to see such a fast run by someone on Jezza’s skill level but it’s also a reminder of how far behind my skill level actually is. 
I’ve been using that tune for days and am still seconds behind 3:01…

Which gear should I be in at the last right hander, in Sepi’s RWD ‘93 cobra tune? I keep shifting down to 2nd but the car randomly spins out or loses grip.
Won’t launch properly at that turn and I keep getting passed by the current ghost.
Edit: @BedlamBorealis your HDT commodore set-up is just plain awesome. Makes me like power builds. Lol. That’s hard to do. 3.03.317. Might have some more in this one as well.
Getting pretty similar times in the RWD, HDT, the RWD ‘93 cobra and the AWD SVO mustang. HDT is taking it so far.
I use 3rd gear for the last corner (the only place I use second I think is for the very heavy braking corner at about 40%).
i tried sepisp4 1500hp tune and i got a 3.06.693 with tc on which i usually am against using but here i cant do any better without, then i tried my tune with 1000hp no tc and was 1 second slower. dont know how you do it without tc @Jezza14, masterful driving man
@AKAalpac Cheers, I appreciate the feedback and yeah, 3.10 / 3,09 is about where I am with it. with maybe 1 to .5 left in it I think but not much more as it is. (for me at least)
I assume you’re talking about the “Part 2” tune, as that’s a tad quicker than the part 1 tune even though I have it set with two dead gears (7 & 8) as it didn’t have the power to use them properly
May I ask what tune you used before ?
It was the PTW AusaX tune that others have mentioned.

Haven’t managed to break 03:09 yet myself, but planning to have a few more tries at it. Spent some time today trying to contribute to the cause in another way for anyone interested:

Just tried the PTW tune for the Mustang SVO, was running the Haulmarc tune before and couldn’t get below 3:13. Although stats wise the PTW tune looks much worse it drives so much better. I knocked 3 secs off my previous time and have got under 3:10 which was my target this week. Plus i’m well inside the top 1,000 
Might be able to get a bit more out of it before the change over

I’m coming to the conclusion I don’t get on with power builds (or maybe just RWD).
Got no idea how you’re getting those times with the SVO

Ah ok, yeah tried that one but it didn’t handle as well as my “part 2” tune, although it did give me the idea to swap out the 7 / 8 speed box to 6 speed… so tweeking in progress atm and will most likely end with a part 3 lol.
@AngelGeek I can’t do RWD either… to much of a leadfinger, having said that, it’s as much about the right lines too.

Completely agree about the power builds; gave it a try just for grins & it was a disaster.
I’ve been running more circuits against my best time, but have yet to beat it (03:09:223) Obviously, I’m usually in the higher end of the times within our group.
I recorded a run below to to show the basic lines I‘m I’m attempting to take for this circuit. I made several minor errors in some of the turns on this run that obviously cost me time, but I was trying to be semi-cautious to complete it. It even sounds like I tapped the wall at the first 90, but no flag. (To this point: I actually think they have adjusted the sensitivity to contact during rivals as it seems to be possible now to slightly tap objects w/o a penalty?)
For information: I’m running on a XSX with a standard AE controller, auto, standard steering, ABS & zero dead-zones. ‘86 Ford Mustang SVO w/ “PTW AusaX” tune. Hope this is helpful.

I’m definitely not the fastest person on here and, am in no position to critique, but after watching your run I seem to go a little faster through some of he turns.
I gave it a try in cockpit view (I’m usually a far cam person) and I was able to get a 3:07 with it in that view. I noticed a couple of places where you braked or let off the gas briefly and I think those are what makes up the majority of time difference but that’s just my humble opinion.

Thanks for the feedback. It’s definitely about the subtleties in the lines, braking etc. I did manage to knock off almost another sec, now down to 03:08.622 & I’m sure I can get faster times out of it.

This also brings up another interesting point I was wondering about: what is the most common view mode being used by those in the group? I’ve always used in cockpit only; what is everyone else using & can it affect your times?

2nd chase cam for me. I like the cockpit view if I’m using my G920 but find I’m much more competitive with a controller.
Personally, I have a harder time getting clean laps in cockpit view bc I have a hard time judging the boundaries of the car…

FWIW, my lines and times always feel smoother/better in cockpit view but they are always slower.

I find far chase is the easiest for tuning, even if you switch back to cockpit once you’re happy with it

You should be able to make some relatively easy gains towards the end of the course. The long sweeping right and left handers can be taken near flat out if you can get the lines right and I think you are probably trying to take the last corner on a bit too tight a line. You lose about 3 seconds on that relatively simple section compared to optimum, so that can get you down to 3.05 or so.
