Quick Question. Are Rivals times only registered in Rivals mode or is there also another way best laps are recorded? Thanks.
If i remember right, in former Forza games, every clean lap from whatever game mode counted towards rivals. Looks like this is gone in FM 23 / FM8 / just FM …
I don’t recall this but I may be wrong. That is the case in Forza Horizon 5 (if you are in the same weather conditions as the rivals event) but I don’t remember it from more recent FM rivals.
Only registered in rivals mode. No damage. 100% fuel, and no tire wear the whole time. If race tires are installed they will only run you in medium. Factors like tire sweet spot, tire compound, fuel level, and track rubbering in will give an “unfair advantage” so they took it out of the other race modes.
Thanks Mike!
It did not.
But the games kept metrics of our fastest laps, distance on a certain track.
Rivals was always separate.
Only rivals times are set in rivals and I run softs, in all modes.
I don’t know if it’s a glitch, but it won’t let you run softs in rivals even if you choose them. Restart rivals and it’ll default back to Medium compound with 100% fuel. In freeplay if you restart your fuel and tire settings are saved.
I noticed my rivals lap times were matching my medium compound times in freeplay.
really, you still stand by that?
Yes, track is rubbered in 100 percent. Tires are medium compound if softs are chosen, no damage, no tire wear. They want you on an even playing field.
Nah, Compounds definitely have an effect.
Track is around 50% rubbered in, Changing fuel has no effect. Fuel is always 100%
Noted. I’ve been setting times with mediums this whole time! Lol
In theory Rivals should be optimal driving conditions, yet it appears that faster laptimes are possible in Featured Multiplayer.
Yet the Fuel/Tyre menu changes the estimated laptime based on fuel amount.
It could be a UI bug considering telemetry says otherwise, but it’s unclear.
From my understanding Rivals is at 100% track rubbering and optimal track temperature - basically the setup of 100%, clear in freeplay.
At least that’s when I get the same lap times.
Races in MP seem to go beyond 100% rubbering.
I’ve broken several WRs in MP although in Rivals I’m always ~ 0.5 to 1 second off.
Then there are cars that have significant performance differences between Rivals/freeplay and MP. The Ferrari F1 car that dominates P-class online but not in Rivals is a prime example.
In short: it’s weird & nebulous but kinda fitting for this game.
Fuel.
At some point the shown fuel has changed to 5%, but I don’t think the weight of the car has changed, from when it showed 100%
