Release dates and times

Depends on your location. I live in Los Angeles, and for the West Coast, we get all games at 9pm the night before, both digital and physical (GameStop does our “midnight” launches at 9pm). It’s like this so we get it at the same time as say, New York, who are 3 hours ahead.

The US gets games at the same time, that way states with time zones that are further ahead, don’t get the game first. So as soon as the East Coast hits 12am, the entire country gets it unlocked, regardless if it’s 9,10, or 11 PM.

As for the rest of the world, I’m not sure how they do it in say, Europe, Asia, or Australia. I’d imagine it’s something similar with those regions, but I could be entirely wrong.

Sorry if this has been asked, went searching in topics couldn’t find.

Is there an official time that the game will be released on the 29th for early access?

Realistically the downloads begin on 29/9 at 12AM…however long it takes to become playable is down to your connection and demand on servers

I’m betting on October 8th

It’s more realistic to expect a pre-load window beginning on Sep. 26th … one week before launch. That’s the same pre-load time frame as we’ve seen with previous Forza games.

It will unlock as soon as it is Sept. 29. It might vary if your in the US for different time zones, but on Friday at midnight it I’ll be playable.

When you say unlock, you mean the game will be available to play, correct? You’re not referring to the game data preload, are you?

And yes we are talking about playing the game at 12:01 US time on the 29th not starting the Download Then.

Not true, Horizon 3 unlocked at midnight in the UK, Forza 7 says midnight as well.

Nope. I remember midnight releases at local time for all my Forzas digital or physical. My time zone is 12 hours ahead of Eastern Time.

EDIT - looking at last year’s Early Access release for FH3, the Store showed midnight Eastern for every time zone in the U.S., and midnight local in Europe. As it turned out, release was midnight local time for everyone (after some initial difficulties for the Australians).

Hey Max, not that I am in the US or UK but I have noticed that down under, here in Australia, when I view the game on the store now it has changed from - Release date: Friday, September 29, 2017, 12:00:00 AM to now display - Release date: Friday, September 29, 2017, 2:00:00 PM

Totes spewing aye, waz lookin forward to a quick spin before work on Friday morning, now I’m gonna b goin cra cra all day till I get home, jeez I hope it fires up first go and runs when I finally do get home
