Xbox One X - Forza Motorsports 7 console?

Knowing that Microsoft used a similar tactic last iteration.

Now I’m wondering - will they for the same this time that both the new console, and a new Xbox were released into the wild, at the same time.

The game is pre-released on the 27th September with the general release on October 3rd.

The new Xbox One X is scheduled for release on the 7th November 'world wide. And that means a US worldwide release, not a date release date.

If it was a world wide date release, November 7th, then NZ will get theirs first, East Coast if Australia will get theirs 2 hours later, and slowly progress across the globe until it reaches the East Coast of the USA. Which they do not like at all.

So it’ll no doubt be released in the US first in November 7th, and Then be released across the globe after they get theirs.

So my question is, will Microsoft do the same as they did with the Xbox One Forza Edition and release a dedicated console alongside the general release, just like they did in 2015.

Releasing the game in September/October, then once a console comes out, they release a Forza Edition to boost sales of both the console and the game.

It worked before, and it worked well. They sold heaps of the Forza Xbox Ones, they sold a second resurgent of the game after its initial release. And it worked a treat.

Game linked consoles sell units, they then on-sell games.

So it ponders the thought, will we see the same pattern emerge once again?

Here’s hoping they do… 'cause I’ll be buying too if they do… one for loving son, one for dotting father figure lol hehehehe.

Has anyone given it any thoughts, or heard, seen anything that would suggest anything like it.

My thoughts too. Ive held out on pre ordering the Scorpio edition because im hopeful that they will announce a Forza 7 themed Xbox one X closer to release date. They did it with Forza 6 so here’s hoping they do it this time too.

Probably the best thing to do is pre order for now and if they announce a Forza themed XBX1 then just swap it around. Thats what ill probably do.

In Australia, ALL major outlets, AND Microsfots online store have sold out of all Xbox One X Scorpio Editions. There’s no more to benpurchased, period. EB, JB HiFi, Harvey Normans, Bing Le, etc etc etc and of course MS themselves.

They have set up a 'second run wait list, which ppl can go one to get one once they become available again.

But, the Scor-io Edition only has a meagerv1 terabyte Harddrive. A pittance in today’s high file sizes for games.

I kicked my Xbox One S into life the other day, and after its initial start-up, and all updates, not including the BluRay player or a game, the Xbox One S’s 2 terabyte HD only had 1.5 terabytes left.

I transferred both FORZA 5 and 6, then had them fully synced, in order to acquire all my game saves and DLC from both games, and it’s already bitten into 1 of those 2 terabytes. I’ll be using the S to play FM7, so that I keep all Forza games on the one console. Hopefully I’ll be able to load the original Xbox Forza and the 360 Forza versions, fingers crossed.

So ideally, the next run of Xbox One ads will have a decent HD, ideally 2, but hopefully 5. As once gamers start loading their older games, plus new releases, that meager terabyte will disappear rapidly.

The ONLY difference to the Scorpio Edtion is a sticker on the front that says ‘Scorpio Edition’. It’s not painted in any special limited edition colours, or just different colours etc. It’s just a normal plan console.

Has anyone in Sydney had any luck getting a Scorpio Editi0n pre-order yet?

Picking my scorpio edition up on Tuesday the 7th as soon as EB opens, public holiday here for me so even better
Preordered about 10 minutes after EB opened
It’s not a US dated release since its a console not a game
Going to use the same external 5tb hard drive I’m using with my xbone S
Not fussed about the 1tb internal anyway
Cant see them making them any bigger to keep costs down…they might go 2tb max like they did with the S but probably increase the price too
The X wasnt made for the casual gamer who doesnt like spending money

the original Forza and all versions on the 360 haven’t been made Backwards Compatible yet except Horizon 1 and there has been no indication that they ever will be

Yeah POs sold out here, too. The silver lining I see is that now if they do release a FM version, it’ll be an easy choice for me (which wasn’t the case when the FM6 console came out).

Thing is, I feel like FM6 got a Forza-themed console release because it was the second game on said console, and it was a way to drive sales. That’s not so much the case this time.

With Forza 6, they released that on the same time frame as FM7 is to be, right down to the pre-release access for pre-orders of the game. They had released the Xbox One and to drive additional sales, kicked up a FM6 themed unit, which did as younmentioned, drive additional sales of both the game and the console. As they increased the HD size in the Forza themed Xbox One.

It increased sales well for both units, as each had a noticeable ‘pick-up’ period in the stores. A good friend who gives me a nice discount at JBs told me that as the sales of the initial Xbox slowed every so slightly, and the game had been out for around a month, the initial rush had demised, but the release of the Themed console, which came with the code for the game, not the disc, helped sales, as most ppl buying the themed console actually wanted a disc based game.

So customers were happy to shell out for the disc, even though the code was in the packaging. Strange as it seems to some, but he should know, his station is Gaming and entertainment at JBs. So I’d expect a similar thing to ocure with both FM7 and a themed Xbox One X.

Re the HD size, I do believe that they might well throw the 2Tbt unit in, just like the did with both the FM6 themed Xbox (larger than original HD, not 2Tbt of course) and the nice White Xbox One S second run, which jumped from 1Tbt to 2tbt.

I’ve got my name down with my mate for the second run of the Scorpio, and the ‘skuttlbutt’ that he’s heard through thenproverbial grapevine at work is, that the second run might well have a bigger HD. Unsubstantiated at this point, but he’s usually been right over the years. That’s not to say it will, but I’m kinda hoping it will. I’ll still enjoy my FM7 on mynXbox One S using a 4K UHDTV with HRD…

But, as always, with the wonders of technology, one never really knows unless you’re in the production process. So there’s a group hoping that they go along the line of the past practices . . .

Secondary, tally, can you give me some guidance on HD replacement process please…

I just got an 8 TB hard drive for my Xbox One. I love it but also hope it doesn’t go bad. It just plugged into a USB outlet on the back of the Xbox. The Xbox recognized it and prompted me to do a few steps and just like that I have an external Hard drive. I then transformed all my games that were on my Xbox internal hard drive to the new External hard drive. Then I downloaded all the digital games and apps I ever had. ( all my games have been bought digitally. 30 games and 34 apps and most games I have purchased nearly all DLC packs as well.
All this on the hard drive and only 13% used…Awesome.
Plus if you have an original Xbox One ( I do still from day one launch) or a Xbox One S and are planning to get the Xbox One X all you have to do is unplug the USB attatched to the External hard drive from the old Xbox and replug it into the new Xbox and all your games are there already. At least that is what I understand it to be. I have been wrong in the past but hoping this is true as It will take a lot of time to re download all those games and apps.

Is any HD compatible (WD, etc) or do you have to buy an Xbox-specific one?

Mine is a “SEAGATE” 8 TB model and it said nothing about Xbox One but it mentioned the USB connection for the transfer of info. I bought it hoping it worked and it did perfectly.

The only requirements for an external hard drive to work with any of the XBox One line are that it must be at least 256GB and it must support USB 3.0. As long as it meets those two requirements, any hard drive will work.
