Reasons why I am disappointed now

That may have something to do with the drivatar aggression option.

Ok I’m having to break my silence on this new track hate. I don’t get it.

What is so bad about Dubai? Arguing that the colour palette is the problem is laughable considering there have been plenty of monotone tracks in the past. The track has great changes throughout and is artistically well designed. Also, hating it just because you’re not good at it or you only like straights is unfair, especially having only tested it in the new Porsche, which as we all know now is a problem for most.

Okay you’re right. I need to drive it 25-30 times to really get a feel for it. It’s probably a better track than I’m giving it credit for. And I think the big part of that is driving that new GT2 is a handful to say the least on a steering wheel.

I agree with you, was happy to hear someone speak up. I feel like this track is a little apology for the lack of Fujimi Kaido…(I know it’s a stretch, but hear me out)… it’s of course much, much smaller and the setting is vastly different, but it’s really windy and somewhat narrow and seems like it could be great for drifters (which i’m not one of, but i enjoy me some windy tracks nonetheless). The new track obviously doesn’t come anywhere near the epicness, but to me it feels like a slight nod at those who might miss that style of driving. It seems to me like a track that could be fun to get to know and I was pretty positive about it from the get go.

I thought the demo had a really nice feel and I’m really excited about the full game.

  1. The excessively wide openness of the track is highly disorienting and it makes the game feel like Horizon or NFS. Not a good thing.
  2. They gave a lot of these turns extremely negative camber for what seems to be no other reason than just because they can. I’m willing to bet a lot of pileups will happen here online as it’s very easy to have your car spin here.
  3. At just over 4 miles long I find that its too long for a track like this. I feel like in the lower classes like D and E it will be extremely boring as well since it will take very long just to get one lap done and like 65% of the track at least could probably be done flat out.
  4. It feels like Alps and the first sector of Rio had a baby and this was the track it produced. It doesn’t really feel new from a technical standpoint.
  5. If they wanted a track in Dubai they could’ve just put Dubai Autodrome. Would’ve been a far better track than this.

Now for the sake of fairness I will say that the GT2RS is probably one of the worst cars they could’ve possibly picked for that circuit. Stock rear-engine Porches always tend to handle like garbage in Forza, and a track with long sweepers like Dubai really isn’t that kind to rear-engined cars. But the track just isn’t enjoyable. As with the case of Rio/Prague it seems to be graphics/looks first, racability second and it honestly just ruins any appeal the track could have. I already have Alps and I already have Rio, why would I want to race on a hybrid between the two with different textures?

I thought the Dubai circuit felt more like a mix of the Iberian full and Ladera full circuits from Forza 3 and 4, with the long corners and slightly tighter technical bits

I look so forward to you coming back in 9 days and putting up another post about how you are disappointed with the official release and then maybe I’ll get lucky in a month after that you’ll put up a post about how you’re still grumpy that the car pack doesn’t have the cars you want and then after that…

Sad to say this will be the generation to break my loyalty to the title, having raced every year since Forza2…
I guess it’s best compared to a relationship; exciting at first, new and you want to learn all about one another.

Then each year you take a break, get your hair done, lose a few pounds and have your teeth whitened.
You get back together & for a while things are exciting again! Familiar yes, but fresh in some funky way…

This year, we’ve simply grown too far apart. It’s not you, it’s me…
My need for a more stimulating relationship, one with greater intellectual depth and character is too strong.
I’ll always be here for you! you can call on me anytime, but I’m off & it’s been coming for a while.

I wish you luck! health, wealth & happiness. It’s been a blast (mostly) maybe we’ll catch up in the new year?

Goodbye my love… goodbye

I like this, it was an entertaining read. And extremely accurate for a lot of us I’m sure. The fact is this happens with any game you play. Be it a racing game, a shooting game,or an RPG, you name it; after round and round and round of a game there’s only so much it can do to really get you wound up and excited again. So I don’t really expect that from F7. I’ll just take a few new features and some progression. Hopefully some fixes and adjustments to the things that could have been better. As long as it offers those I’ll be completely satisfied going in knowing what to expect.

Seams kind of strange that an old player who has grown out of Forza started a new profile this year and is only Tier 2.

How are you only Tier 2 if you have been playing that long?

I doubt either of them has been playing that long, or they are posting under a different tag than the one they use. Both of them claim to have played since FM2 but don’t think Forza has changed. That alone puts up a red flag for me.

I think the AI in the demo is so bad because it is just a placeholder basic AI for the demo only, I only say this because even the drivatars in FM6 are not as blind as the AI are in the demo.

For me racing is about using VR on the pc and I didn’t get to try that so a huge disappointment on that front. I’ll wait for reviews of VR before committing to purchasing the game.

I owned all FM’s since FM3. I have FH and FH3. But I think this’ll be the last Foza I buy…
They have managed this release extremely poor.
Lack of info.
No date of when the preload will start… only 2 new(Suzuka and Mugello) tracks… even though there is a topic of which tracks we want to see in game… Turn10 doesn’t listen…
I regret that I’ve preordered this instead of PCars2.
I sincerely hope that Turn10 will prove me wrong…

This whole thread is filled with griping about a Demo that was built months ago for E3 by people who haven’t gotten their info right half the time. The game including patch is 95GB, Yes Dubai is underwhelming, but you know what so is coming to a board to take the time to say I’ve already cancelled my preorder. Ha! Get in line and exit through the door on the left mind it while it closes on you. If you have time to come on the Forza Forums just to say how disappointed you are about the DEMO of the game then you need something to do or you are still going to buy the game anyway. Normal people don’t take time to complain if it doesn’t matter to them. Notice how most the People “saying” they have cancelled their preorders are 7 and up in Forza Rewards. You know what means, it means they play Forza games and multiple ones. So they may want to act like they aren’t going to buy Forza 7 but most of them are anyway eventually. Sorry to rant but this is crazy what happened to being excited to play any bit of a game in anticipation of it coming out. Demos aren’t finished games they aren’t perfect. Hence the 50gb day one patch.

Now I see why you were named onegrumpyuncle lol, nicely put.

The 50 gig day-one patch has nothing to do with the demo. They didn’t want to ship on two discs so folks who do buy the disc version will get to install 45% of the game from the disc, the remaining 55% through the day one patch.

I never said I wouldn’t play the game anyway. And as you realized, of course with 15000+ Loyalty Points you are a die hard fan.
BUT this was my main point all along, not just the demo disappointment.
We DO know how this game used to be hyped and prepared for the community the last few times.
And we DO remember how exactly all this loyalty Information made us do the craziest achievements in the shortest time right before the release of the successor.

This time around they FAILED.
Lack of HYPE, lack of COMMUNICATION, lack of LOYALTY INCENTIVES.

It’s the truth, and nothing can change that except T10 themselves.

If you think there isn’t some change code in there for something then there isn’t anything that will change your mind. They even said that you can play the game but if you want the full experience you need the patch. Plus think about it this is the same demo from E3. You cant tell me that the game hasn’t changed some between then and going gold.

Yes Turn 10 has dropped the ball on communication and hype this time but for all these people to say “oh well I’m taking my toys and going home is ridiculous”. They are going to buy the game anyway probably. Enjoy the experience that there is to be had make your own hype for the game. You know your going to enjoy the game when you fire it up on the 29th anyway despite the lack hype.
