Reasons why I am disappointed now

Edit: don’t feel like getting into it

I think I’m gonna preorder it now. Hahaha

THAT game.

Why do you want the game to preload already. Most games don’t get a preload until two days at most before hand. Most games I ever preordered were only ever available for preload 12 - 24 hours before it was playable.

Because it’s a large game that’ll take some people days to download.

Hell, even for me buying the physical version, the entirety of the early access period will be taken up waiting for the rest of the game to install. We don’t yet know what’s locked away behind that 50gb day one update.

Im glad everyone else feels the same as I do about the demo. Its just not exciting! I really wanted to like the showpiece track…but its just…well…dull. A desert full of sand and yellow rock is hardly eye candy and its just so twisty and windy!
Ive already cancelled my pre order.

  1. This is why I never bother with demos. Didn’t even for FM6, when I could have actually gotten rewarded for it.

  2. The track. Could have told you that the minute I saw it. Hopefully the game allows for a type of Blueprint system that will make it so I never have to drive that track, EVER. There are so, so many better things they could have done for a fantasy track. A take on the Targa Florio, for example. What about something along the lines of the Isle of Man TT course? Even bringing back NYC or Pacific Shipyards (my GAWD that would’ve been nice) would have been better than this. Don’t even need to play it; the boring colour palette and the desert setting are all enough for me to say “no thank you”. Looks as fabricated as Dubai itself.

Du-freaking-bai. WHY!?! Because they have a lot of supercars there IRL?

You can bet that this track was not built because they thought people would enjoy it. But because of either a target audience or money on or under the table. Seriously did they think the bulk of their players which have never been to Dubai and could care less about it would want to race on a track there.

And yep I think the consensus is going to definitely be this track plain sucks. As a guy that lives in the desert I don’t mind it visually but it does not race well at all. It is so unenjoyable to drive on and has no flow. It’s clunky and I will do my best to avoid driving on it as well. Throw that in the bucket with the other garbage track Yas Marina. Both of those tracks feel like they were built with a free game track builder by a 4th grader that put a bunch of pieces together with no idea how a track should FEEL.

First, to get the grammar police stuff out of the way, “could care less” means that a person does care at least somewhat, or else they couldn’t care less.

Now, more to the point at hand, who exactly is this mistery person throwing money around to get a fictional Dubia circuit into the game and for what reason? Is he somehow related to that Nigerian prince desperate to give away his fortunes? Maybe the Underpants Gnomes have went in a different direction, now seeking to get a desert road in Dubai into a racing game for profit? I’m not sure how this is supposed to work, or to whose benefit.

Regarding the “under the table” part, why would it be under the table and to whom would that sack of money have been secretly given? The developers can publicly and officially do whatever they want, so why would anything need to be under the table?

Well, Dubai actually has a full-blown racing circuit with a fantastic Grand Prix course and many variations.

I wish they had included the actual Dubai racing circuit, instead of this boring piece of fantasy road.

OH NO, THERE ARE TOO MANY TURNS ON THAT TRACK!

Get this man an oval track pronto!

Not everyone feels the same about the demo, but this IS the “I’m disappointed” thread so most posters will be the unhappy ones.

Dubai with its twisty nature should have the drifters drooling by now, and I believe that’s by design. Tracks like Dubai have been heavily requested by the drifting community, and I think they’ve been listened to.

It is rumored that the game is 90-100GB.

It is also rumored that there is a 50GB patch required on Launch Day, which brings the entire thing to a 150GB worth of downloading time.

Not for nothing, but there are some people that will likely be getting this game digitally, that don’t have the worlds fastest internet (like me), and can only download 1GB in about 20 minutes. That means it will take people like me, about 30-40 hours to download the game, while not using ANY internet anywhere in the house, at all.

Since that proposition is very unlikely, Forza 7 will take MANY people 3-4 days to download, to play it for a few hours, and then need another 50GB download, where they will not be able to play the game for another day or two.

If this update cycle remains the way that the patches roll out for the game, simply put, there will be weeks of time, that you cannot play the game, because players have to update with a large file.

When I used to play Destiny a Lot, and the DLC and the major updates were 12GB-20GB, I simply could not play the game for 2 days, because it would be down for maintenance, and then go straight into requiring an update. Typically this happened immediately after the console itself needing an update.

Playing the game online requires very little bandwidth, but installing the games these days, and keeping them up to date, is very time consuming.

The ratio to game time vs. download time, for this demo, was 1:8 in favor of the Download time. Hopefully, the 40 hours it takes to download the game, is offset by how much time I want to spend behind the wheel.

Incorrect,

It is 95 GB total. The 50GB patch is the additional content they could not fit on the disc. Physical edition is 45 GB disc and then 50 GB download. All others are 95 GB, it is not 150 GB.

The patch is not a rumor, it’s a thing. Go read the WIR News - Forza.

Wrong. The 50 GB update is only for owners of the physical disc version which only contains 45GB of the game’s estimated ~95 GB size.

I believe that the 100GB download is fact not a rumor. As for the 50GB patch, from my understanding after reading a T10 press release (or maybe it was a video) the 50GB download is for those purchase the DVD and the 50GB download is optional for some extra add-on’s - which are included in the digital download of 100GB. If you don’t do the extra 50GB download the DVD people will be missing out on things like showcase events, but the full championship will be available on the DVD.

For the PC, I downloaded 99GB on Sunday when I pre-ordered. Still nothing to pre-load on the XBOX One though. If I had to guess, the game size shouldn’t be much different on the PC compared to the XBOX One. I will also be really annoyed if the pre-load for the XBOX One is only a couple of days before or non-existent. I want to paly it at the time it launches, not an hour or two later after it downloads because the servers are being hammered.

When the game is ready to pre download where do I pre download it from? I have the ultimate edition on pre order and also the Ai is still stupid even when you put them on pro, they still stick to their invisible drive line, if your on the inside of them ready to pass they’ll just cut you off and put you in the wall. So stupid.
