Rating The Forza Edition Cars

I thought it could be worth discussing, there’s some great cars such as the GTR-LM, cars that while not amazing have useful bonuses like the Alfa Giulia and then some awful and pointless ones like the VW Van (perhaps some other people can find a use for it but all I’ve done with it is get 5k car collector points, doesn’t seem any race that it would be any good in).

What do you think?

As far as I’m concerned, the only “must have” FE cars are the MC12 and M6.

From a performance perspective there is not a single FE-car that is a must-have. But some are quite good:

  • Nova FE as AWD is a pretty fast winter car in A-class because of the mandatory Rally tires (stock tires are garbage) and the front tire width/rear tire width ratio.
  • Capri FE is a decent A-class Dirt car for narrow, slow-speed tracks. Great handling but awful top speed.
  • GTR-LM FE and the Sagaris FE are decent S1 winter cars. The latter can even be used as Dirt car for extremely technical tracks.
  • Continental FE is a decent road car for S1 when built correctly. The same goes for the 8C FE.
  • MC12 FE and Zonda R FE are somewhat usable on S2 as road cars but are quite off the pace.
  • VW Bus FE is a wallriders dream on S1 due to its incredible acceleration up to ~270 km/h. No cornering speed, no top speed but I’ve seen some wallriders getting some good lap times on wallridey tracks out of it.

A lot of the other FE-cars don’t have specific performance boosts and are identical to the normal versions.

Good question! And it’s one that hasn’t popped up too often, I don’t remember seeing a lot of threads about FE cars specifically.

For me, FE cars are used either to farm skill points, or farm races (Goliath). To that end, here are my go-to cars:

Skills:
Renault 5 Turbo FE
BMW M6 FE

Races:
GTR-LM FE
Vulcan FE

For actual racing, I found the stock-tuned Bentley Continental S1 900 (switched to AWD) is a dream to control, when there was that Trial a few weeks back I used it and easily won.

Why is the Maseratti MC12 FE a must have? I am honestly asking, I have it, but haven’t used it much. What’s useful about it?

It’s better than the Vulcan FE. Take a good look at the Car Mastery tree of both cars, and see for yourself.

Goliath… Alfa Romeo Guilia FE.

Marathon… Capri FE tuned S900 Just for fun.

The quickest way to farm skill points is by doing the 3 minute lap, highway grind races … and for those, the Vulcan FE is slightly better than the MC12 FE. The Vulcan FE can earn about 20 skill points per lap. The MC12 averages a few less.

The Alfa 8C FE is a monster in S1 class.

20 skill point per lap? o_O
Honestly pls explain how is possible.
I’m searching a faster method to farm skill points, but 20 per 3 min lap it seems too good.
In my experience, 20 skill (perk) points are 20*50000=1M skill chain points.

I thought the max skill points you could get in one chain was only 10 anyway?

Yeah, it can get 90-100 skill points in a 5 lap race, getting 90,000-100,000 x 5.0 each way on the highway if the skill tree is maxed out.

It has the best clean racing skills bonus, 200%. That triples the clean racing skills (100% is double, 200% is triple), so you get 3,000 for every ultimate clean racing skill. But then there’s the FE bonus for the car, which is a clean skills bonus. That bonus doubles the clean racing skills, so it’s 3,000 x 2 = 6,000 … which is just awesome.

But not only that, it also has the +20% speed skills perk, which makes ultimate speed skills 1,200 … but for some reason, at least in these races, the clean skills FE bonus doubles the speed skills, too. So you get 2,400 for every ultimate speed skill. There’s a +20% perk for combo skills as well, but I’m not sure if that gets doubled as well. The speed skills and the clean racing skills account for most of the skill chains in the highway grind races.

It’s 2,400 every few seconds for speed, and 6,000 for clean racing every 3 or so speed skills … each way on the highway is something like 4 miles … so as long as you’re keeping it over 200 mph (blowing through the traffic circle where the Juggernaut races starts), keeping it clean the whole race, and making sure you’re banking your skill chain every half lap, that’s 9-10 skill points for each half lap. 5 lap races get me about 250,000 credits and 90-100 skill points for 15:30, so you know I was farming like crazy when was I caught up in spinning the wheel and garage management, flipping duplicate common cars for wheelspins.

It’s one of the first cars I was really into. I remember when we were testing cars @ Holyrood Circuit and posting times … I’ve done low 1:02’s @ Holyrood Circuit, low 39’s @ Moorpark Wind Farm Circuit, mid 44’s @ Broadway Village Circuit.

I’ve won a ranked road racing lobby in it, but it is a bit down on power compared to the very best cars for a lot of the courses in ranked lobbies. I think the 90’s Bugatti and the '08 Viper I use are probably better for those, especially the Bugatti, which crushes … but when it comes to a lot of the circuits that I test on, the 8C FE often turns better laps. I’ve been meaning to go back to Holyrood Circuit at some point and shoot for a sub-1:02 lap because I think it has one in it. And I think the 8C FE is still #1 on my Moorpark Circuit board … which surprises me considering that back straight is uphill. It corners great, I think better than the stats suggest.

I hopped in my 8C FE yesterday for 8 laps of Holyrood Circuit and got a 1:01.996 out of it. On this track it’s definitely more competitive than on my own test track. Probably because Holyrood is more on the cornering speeds side.
Still, my current favourite S1 road car beat the 8C FE by 0.3 seconds on its 8 laps.

I love the 570S. Never seen one online but with Freeroam Rush gone it has become a very strong option. Lacking top speed isn’t such a disadvantage anymore.

Nice one. Sub-1:02 times at Holyrood Circuit are serious.

I really like that 570S, too. I won a ranked lobby when I was first trying to qualify, but I haven’t set any times in it yet. Having to record all that stuff by hand, and not having ghosts to race against and see where different builds have advantages and disadvantages, has had me kind of burnt out on setting times right now. I’ll probably get back into it. I actually need to set times in the 8C FE again because back when I did it the first time, I hadn’t yet figured out that most, if not all, good handling S1 road cars are better without the splitter than with it. I’ve built an 8C FE without the splitter but haven’t set times with it. To me, S1 is my favorite class for road racing, and it seems like the handling in S1 is usually more than enough for the power in the class. If anything, the class seems a little slow.

As for that Vulcan FE, I’ve used an X class a lot to grind credits and skill points, but it’s not great in X class at all. If I remember right, even with minimum downforce, the top speed is only around 250 mph or so. Performance-wise, there are much better options in X class. It’s more a grind-for-stuff car than it is a performance car in X class. But in S2 class, it’s a fairly competitive road racing car. About the only reason I have one in X class is just because it can knock off tens of seconds from the 15+ minute grind.

Really? I made the obligatory AWD-build:

Widest rear tires, stock front tires, rear-aero, race weight reduction & race centrifugal supercharger. Then tuned to get the understeer out of it.
It reaches a 9.4 handling rating which is pretty good but it lacks the punch.
There are at least 10 cars that outperform it in S900 road racing.

I’m more into the Ford Transit FE as a tech-option for handling playlists since Freeroam Rush is gone. On tracks like Greendale Club or Festival Circuit its poor top speed doesn’t matter.

Interesting stuff. The MC12 FE is probably my favourite car since it handles well and can rack up the points. Most of my speed zone PBs are from the MC12. It’s fun to race in as well and doesn’t require anything fancy in the tuning department - at least not for my driving.

I’ve been neglecting the Vulcan FE though. As I recall the top speed wasn’t that great. Off to go try it out again.

I tried that MC12 FE, I had to snipe it first which took all day. On Goliath it didn’t score much for me, I may need a better tune, or it isn’t good on Goliath.

Pagani Zonda R FE’s the best, although it’s only available to VIP owners.

Renault Turbo FE is good for clocking up skill points. You can reach max points at least twice on the Goliath, and collect the credits too.
