They got other things to do.
Since this game is live service, and Gran Turismo 7 is itās main competitor, it would be awesome to see Forza Motorsport add some rally stages, rallycross circuits, and various rally cars in the future. There could be a āRallyā section in the race menu. Or it could be a complete DLC package (But please donāt make the VIP members pay for it). It would really bring more variety into the game and keep it interesting in the long term.
Awesome idea. I love anything rally!
Kinda goes against the track focus ethos of Motorsport
Rally is in horizon as is
Itās in Gran Turismo too. Which is also a track focussed racer. Besides, the physics model is so different in Motorsport compared to Horizon that it would be an entirely different experience.
And from what Iāve read, itās poor in gt7.
You want rally, play a dedicated rally game.
Forza has enough issues without adding a new gamemode the physics werenāt designed for.
Imo of course
The whole ājust play horizonā argument is so short sighted. ![]()
Horizon physics are terrible in comparison. Itās clearly meant to be āFast and Furiousā style unrealistic fun, not anything serious. Racing on MotorSport has always felt more realistic, so using these improved driving physics + Horizonās dirt/sand physics would be WAY better than just playing Horizon where tracks have you launch Lamborghinis off of cliffsides.
Next post I said play a dedicated rally gameā¦
FM has no dirt or sand physics and has no need given its track racing. Why try shoehorn in horizon physics? Asking for problems tbh and FM isnāt short of problems atm.
Each to their own I guess
Why ask someone to pay another $60-$100 for an entire new game when you could have it in a game you already own? I agree itās towards the back of the priority list, but it would make an awesome DLC in a year or so. Why is GT the only track racing game that gets to have off-road courses?
Iāve just started playing Project CARS 2 and DiRT Rally 2.0 if I want an actual racing experience. Thinking about purchasing Assetto Corsaā¦
I agree, but DiRT Rally 2.0 is about $20 or something like that.
If and when we do get rally/rallycross in the game, do take in mind that some cars will not be eligible for rally and/or snow tires, suspension and differentials. You have to take note that some cars in GT7 are blacklisted for rally circuits. Like for example, you can definitely take a Ford Focus RS out on a rally track, but you canāt do that on a Ferrari, unless itās like say, the Purosangue. Another is that you will certainly not be able to drive a GT racing car or prototype on these tracks.
And when we do get rally, it shouldnāt just be dirt, but also including snow. Lately, in GT7, there was a new snow track located in Lake Louise in Canada.
Then again, people will argue that rally should only be limited to Horizon, and Iād say that they are wrong. Horizon, whether itās tarmac or offroad racing, has their physics leaning more towards arcade than simulation, and with rally in Forza Motorsport, it would really be an interesting take on it with more realism.
Also, in Horizon, just about anything, even cars that arenāt meant to race on offroad surfaces, can be raced, but thereās no guarantees to them being competitive, or feeling just right. (For example, in FH5, I tuned my Bugatti Divo for rally/offroad racing and it felt unsuitable on all levels).
No way. FM should be track focused. Im glad they cut bs tracks off (Rio, Prague and Dubai particularly). Also, rally in GT7 is by far worst part of the game imho. I genuinly hate it. Forza doesnt need to compete at this front.
Hereās the thing though. If you donāt like GT7 rally, you donāt need to play it. If you donāt like Prague & Rio, donāt drive them. But some people do like this mode & those tracks, so why advocate for LESS things? A surface level rally mode is better for some, than no rally mode.
Because its complete and utter nonsense brought on only by the expectation of it having been done by another game in the same genre, where its also an anomaly and also doesnt really add any value or authenticity to the title. Just like it would in this game.
Why not have a road rally mode instead? Where you have sprint courses across stretches of highway and roads where race and street cars can participate? Its new, its a unique feature, it fits with the existing design and intent of the game and franchise.
Why not have dedicated modes for different racing classes like an authentic racer. GT3 classes and championships fleshed out with penalties and points like they do IRL. BTCC races with all of their quirks. Nascar series, The cars and tracks are already in the game for this. This could be done with that extra effort youāre asking to be dedicated to something thats extremely tangential to what this game is at its core.
Why does all of this extra effort have to go towards Rally? Theres so many other places where that experience is offered. And there so much more effort that needs to be put towards refining this franchise for whats already there in it (And whats now absent from it). Why should they allocate all of this effort towards something you know as well as all of us, is going to be an underbaked, inauthentic, and ultimately unrewarding experience and youāre much better off reaching for those other games that aim to provide that experience explicitly.
This is just patently ridiculous.
Because what little we already have needs so much more work, the idea of asking for more in a completely different game design direction is just frankly very dumb and unhelpful to the entire series and yourself.
Who said anyone advocated for it to be added right now? Youāre criticizing me & the idea while making up this notion that I deem it as some sort of major priority.
I donāt.
But this game is meant to last an entire console generation, so why not after a couple of years add a little mini rally mode AFTER all of the core tarmac racing stuff has been perfected & after the horrendous & embarrassing bugs have been fixed.
This thread predates the launch of the game. Nobody could have predicted it was going to be such a mess, so to bring that up is odd.
Who said anyone advocated for it to be added right now? Youāre criticizing me & the idea while making up this notion that I deem it as some sort of major priority.
I never said you wanted it immediately either. But no one is specifying. This game isnt going to be in a state that would merit such a reach for expansion for at least the next decade if it does last that long, which it wont. So its a moot point.
You think it wonāt be polished by the end of the console generation? I strongly disagree, I expect polish by the time the gameās a year old (which is still a humiliating failure, but I digress)
I donāt need it at all⦠nor do I want it
Nothing new here. I created this topic because I think itās important to make it clear that the inclusion of rally tracks in the game has been a long-standing request. In fact, I donāt know what the impediments or limitations would be to introduce, but I would like to see something like that in the franchise. We have rallies in Horizon, but itās not the same thing.
Anyway, make my DESIRE real T10, pleaseeā:pleading_face:![]()
