Quality of life with audio needed if possible

I race with headphones and sometimes certain cars need thier exhaust turned up, meanwhile I would like to turn the sound of the wind, and the whine of the racing transmission down ive mucked around in the settings but feel that racing transmission exhaust and wind noise should maybe have their own individual options.

Racing transmission is the absolute worst. The mixing that makes it the strongly dominant sound all the time is annoying to the point I avoid installing it on builder cars and resent it on the GT cars.

You can be in some monster of a V8 like a Mustang or Corvette and the engine will purr so softly, whilst this obnoxious transmission whine overpowers everything. And it is the same, generic sound on all cars.

The C7 GT vette for example. Watch a YouTube video of it, even FM7. In game? Heaps of whine.

M6 has an awesome whine, OFF throttle IRL, but is drowned out by the engine on throttle. In game? Nothing but whine.

Funny thing is the Porsche famously has a really high pitched and forthright whine all the time, but in game you can’t hear it at all.

It’s great that they have at least implemented transmission whine but the mixing leaves so much to desire.

The mixing needs a major upgrade, agreed. The engine audio, first of all, should not sound loopy or synthesized, as if some software is generating the same revs again and again and piecing it together with the next 1000 or 2000k revs as you accelerate. Does that make sense?

It’s like the engine audio is stuck in some kind of loop - it’s exactly how the cars sound in Drive Club and I hate it so much!

The cars need to sound organic and natural, like your accelerating a real car! I would honestly take the FM4 samples - just clean em up and boost the quality.

There are some excellent samples in the game however, but that needs to translate across the board to every car. No favoritism please!

You know, I noticed the transmission whine and thought either this is “normal”, or someone surely already reported it.

Well, since I’m evidently not alone, and couldn’t find a bug report, I made it myself.
