Putting so much traffic on street races makes them RNG

I’m the only one who thinks that putting so much traffic in street races makes it totally RNG they always appear at the most inopportune point where you can’t dodge it, the best player doesn’t win, the one who is luckiest not to find an NPC in a game wins. critical point

The amount is fine but they dont work. For example, driver A dont see a car that driver B see, driver A hits that car and dont slow down but driver B see it and the effect of it, driver B get hit by that traffic car and slows down. Ibwould guess thats why there is such a small amount of cars in freeroam bec they cant fix the syncing of cars so they match with everyone around it.

For some reason they dont use the same online “coding” in fh5 as they did in fh4 where the online part and traffic works alot better.

I dont even know why we need to be online in fh5 since most of the online part dont even work

Also On coming traffic dont light up background (Wall/Guide rail)-> I cant prepare if there are traffic in blind corner because there are no hints

I mean that’s…kind of the point, isn’t it? They’re supposed to be a chaotic mess. Just be thankful that traffic is disabled when they show up in a seasonal championship.

The festival playlist street races usually have no traffic. We had traffic in Horizon 4 in street races. I guess this is all part of how they’ve dumbed down Horizon 5 for more casual players. Even in the regular street races there isn’t that much traffic.

Contrast all this with Need for Speed Unbound where street racing really is street racing with lots of traffic and cops.

I like the chaos, keeps you on your toes, and it’s something different.I can see why they dropped them from Champs, but they are poorer for it.

I’ve been playing fh3 of late, npc vehicles all over the place for pr stunts, not ghosting in speed zones or drift zones - now that IS annoying

I think if the races are at night, then they have a good amount of traffic. Day races should have more since, as others noted, that’s what a street race is all about.

Yeah, nah. I want it more like this please.:pleading_face:

Street racing in games is cool, largely in part because it’s so random and reactive.

1:59 the traffic car didnt react to bmw crash.

Horizon 5 cant play like this because

  1. Sometime there are less than 1 car space between both lane traffic. Cant run between them.
  2. You going to see a 10-20 cars pile up together since you can bounce away traffic car.
  3. Horizon cars dont have that much grip to swing from side to side that quick.

It’s just a mod that’s still in development.

you can make a blueprint without traffic if you really want that

I hate the street races that have no traffic, I mean, isn’t that the point?

No traffic means the world is just a free-form open track, which is yawnsville.

Okay, so you’re one of those who love crashes, explosions and fire. Basically you love death. You’re one of those who want talented racing drivers to crash and burn. You want Group B rally back even though it was extremely dangerous for drivers and fans. You hate modern F1 because tracks and cars are too safe.

You see a lot in my simple post that states: Street races happen on streets, and as such, traffic should be expected
I didn’t ask for the dev’s to include people walking their dogs or errant strollers/prams did I?

I mean if you just want to race without traffic from point A to point B, that’s unrealistic and its just the same as any other point to point or circuit race. Negotiating traffic hazards while watching opponents/AI cars cash is half the fun, no?

Yes there should be traffic cars in the street
but the problem is the game itsn’t well build around the street game play.
So sometime it just become a “random bomb on player cars” because there are not enough hints and time/space to react.

As a game you need that. A game cant just suddenly kill the player.
There are even a “Black bus” in the game dont reflect your headlight.

How did you get all that from his statement above?

It’s not crashes. It’s the danger. Skirting the razors edge and riding on that silver dove.

It was always a riot when the Trial in FH4 was a street championship, and your team would be losing right up until the end of the race…but then you’d pull off a resounding win right at the end because half of the AI drivers plowed into traffic and wound up way off in a field.

Please want a opcion to remove the traffic races from the rotation of events, its very frustrating

Maybe it feels like it alot of traffic in streetraces but thats because there is almost no traffic in freeroam. I think traffic in streetracing is how it should be everywhere. They just havent figured out how to add more traffic in freeroam, my guess is all good programers have left
