Just popped on my Forza 5 as weighing up getting Forza 6. Loaded up and has asked me to sync. I had left it over an hour, hard reset, retried and now retrying again. I am now worried I have lost my save. As a few of you know I have done an awful lot of vinyls and paints since release and all would be lost…something which honestly would bring me to tears as hundreds if not thousands of hours has been put into making some of the designs.
Have tried for many, many, many hours. Lucky if I can get it to sync but when I do it gets to 38% and fails each time. Deleted Forza on console and reinstalling. Will try tonight one last time. If its gone then no more Forza for me.
I had to do the sync yesterday after i performed a factory reset on my XB1.
My FM5 savefile is around 200MB (i have ~ 350 cars, some tunes and almost none vinyls)!
My sync took 6 hours (www@50 MBit/s) !!! and i had to restart 6 times at about 15%, 21%, 31%, 58%, 78%, 99%.
Your mentioned you have “awful lot of vinyls and paints”.
So i just think your savegames is much much bigger than mine.
Have you performed a “hard reset” to the XB1 yet ? Maybe this will help …
This is awful !! it has happened several time with me. This syncing business is a nightmare !! The only advice is to keep trying. I had a problem where my game save failed and had to start over. All my designs and vinyls turned into “Invalid Data” after waiting weeks in the hope the data would come back, I was advised by HeliosT10 who instructed me to delete my local save and the system was then forced into a resync. It worked as all my designs and vinyls came back, but obviously my gamesave was back to level 1…Good luck
Have reset router
Have hard reset Xbox
Have uninstalled Forza and local save
Have hard reset again
Have reinstalled fresh Forza
…and still get to 57% and get “We are unable to sync your data with the cloud just now” - “Try syncing again or use this game or app offline”
I had over 200 cars, 3-500 vinyl groups and around 80 designs and 30-50 tunes, mainly C class. Had a lot of credits but no idea how much…enough to never worry.
I sent Ian (Helios) a message on Twitter several days ago when it first happened but i know he will be busy with launch duties. Xbox support are trying their best to help.
It’s not just a save game…that I can live with. It’s my creative work. It’s what I spend hours and hours enjoying. It’s like having an artwork you have done just torn up and thrown in the fire with little or no care for how you may feel.
I lost everything last week. Lvl 3600+, 300,000,000 credits, 300 + cars. I tried everything but nothing help get them back… and I don’t think they will, I’m just screwed. I still have paints and tunes.
Well 7th time lucky it seems…my save is back and alive. Sorry to hear you lost your save Joe. You can keep trying to get that syncing and getting in contact with Xbox support on Twitter. I know how you feel chap.
Joe, I hope that everything can get figured out and sorted through so nothing ends up missing. I would definitely email Turn10 and it wouldn’t hurt to shoot Helios a PM as well.
It’s game save and progress itself isn’t much of a bummer but it’s devastating to lose all of your paints. Even tunes can be more easily redone, at the very least you can save the build and tune offline on an excel spreadsheet or word document. Paints are a large time investment and if they all go poof it sucks. I was never as good as you Dan but wen my Xbox 360 HDD died spectacularly I stopped painting all together. I wasn’t that good and only had a few things but each one took me such a long time to do and I wasn’t confident and just never got back into it.
So this on forza horizon 2 happened to me was when xbox live was down I lost all my save game data and I was forced to start a new game. I have called xbox live, multiple times and I get the same answer I have to talk to Turn 10 Studios. I think this is a stupid way of contacting someone for help Turn 10 admin I would like to get a phone number to contact you guys for troubleshooting because this forums crap is ridiculous and will get me nowhere.
