Prize Crates

Fairly sure I saw a menu icon for something with another name, but essentially loot boxes.

I’m a little disappointed that these have been added, to be completely honest. I really dislike the loot crate system in any game. Only time I’ve ever supported it is when you can buy the skins separately with real money, and boxes can be bought with ingame credits.

I’d prefer not relying purely on a random chance in order to get the one costume/outfit/skin/whatever that I actually want.

Yes, there is an option to [Buy Crates], it was shown on the Driver Gear screen.

No details regarding that, best wait till it’s officially detailed as we don’t know if it uses in-game or real-world currency.

Where did you find this interview please ?

This is a link to the new exclusive new gameplay.

I pretty much agree with you on this point as well. but I play a lot of other games and it seems like this is basically the standard now for all games and one of the ways that companies drive you to keep playing. whether they’re free as in game rewards or purchasable or whatever, loot boxes or crates seem to be popping up everywhere. I expect that they won’t be going away soon as they seem to be a big revenue generator and a way for the developer to keep you in their game.

That being said, as long as it’s just for cosmetic items I don’t really care. If they hide Autos or upgrades in the loot boxes that will be frustrating for sure.

I suppose the silver lining is that they are just cosmetics, though I wouldn’t be too pleased if things like bodykits and rims are locked away behind them.

These RNG based systems can go both ways though, depending on whether they hand out duplicates or not. If they don’t do duplicates, I can get behind that a bit more.

It was bloody annoying relying on it in FM6 for the achievement for using a certain mod to win a race from last place, still haven’t got that one mod card despite spending probably hundreds of millions to try and get it in a pack.

Hmm, I got about ten of those while spending 150 million CR (that’s when I stopped going for the final mods I was missing). That mod was rare but definitely not that rare. I think I got my first one even in the first ten packs I bought.

On topic: Please let me deactivate all that DLC stuff. I’ll never buy something I can get while playing, don’t force it on me. The way it worked in previous Forzas was perfect.

That’s exactly the problem with RNG based systems. Some will get it easily, some will pretty much never get it.

Of course this is the case, but at least it has no direct multiplayer impact. I understand that some want to have every car and get every achievement, but that is their choice. We are lucky that the meta for MP isn’t tied to RNG, anyone can grab a LB car and go for it.

Really wouldn’t surprise me if they did with the way FM7 is shaping up

I don’t mind it personally.

It´s very likely just the same system as the Wheelspins in FH3. You also were able to buy them if you unlocked the perk.

Loot crates aren’t really much different then the wheelspins we have now in Forza. It is just a different delivery system for a random prize.

They are miles apart if this turns out to be the only way to get certain driver outfits and whatnot.

There is no reason T10 or Playground couldn’t put Exclusive items in wheelspins. In a way the Horizon Editions where Wheelspin exclusive items before enough people got them to flood the auction house.

Could still get them in the Auction House though, I highly doubt there’s anything like that for the driver outfits. Your point is still moot.

Especially if they can be bought through micro transactions.

Yeah I’m as old-school a Forza player as you’ll find, but these don’t bug me. Just another gimmick for me to ignore.

Yeah man I feel the same way- I totally get they have to add stuff to attract new folks and keep some long term fans happy but I really wish there were a way to cut through al the fluff. A setting that says lets skip the cartoonish stuff and just race or my preference hotlaps after tuning a car for myself. I is starting to feel like an arcade game and I want to throw a shoe at my TV every time the stupid avatar stands next to the car and does the dance/calisthenics/stretch. I don’t watch a lot of racing on TV but I am assuming drivers don’t do this.

I think it’s a feature mostly for who enjoy get pictures, also a personalization of your own avatar, i’m not so interested in it but it don’t bother me at all…
