Prison Breakout! EventLab Creation

The Event Lab elements lend themselves extremely well for a prison design. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to pull off this design before hitting the maximum element limits. Surprisingly, this turned out not to be a problem. Apparently things like basic wall elements contribute very little to the total. I wish they’d tell you things like that.

There is a backstory for this custom event. I made an event trailer as a teaser.

Prison Breakout! Trailer

I’ve done my share of custom races, but this is the first time posting one here. It’s also my first event to use rules of play.

A large portion of this “race” route is through building interiors. There are some tight turns. I added some extra maneuvering space and some breakable object cushions where I could manage without spoiling the effect. Take your time if you hope to preserve all your skill points. I imposed no time limit. It’s been taking me over 5 minutes. I’m not an expert driver.

There is a prescribed route. Just note that you’ll find the key map nearly useless for this event because the route twists around on multiple levels. If you typically play with the route line off, pay attention to the smoke gates.

I worked out the bugs as well as I could in the countless times I tested it, including the pesky laundry building elevator. But stupid random stuff still happens. Occasionally the game puts one of the checkpoints on the roof or doesn’t correctly assign points. It works right most of the time. It’s just not 100% reliable. Disappointing for the amount of work that went into this.

Another thing I have no control over is where your car gets re-set. I suggest keeping the rewind function on unless you intentionally plan to explore the non-programed parts of the map.

One more thing. I added a totally optional layer to the event to make it more interesting. There are five giant batteries within the map that give you extra points. They can all be seen from the route, but you still need to pay attention. Some are more obvious than others.

Clearly you spent a lot of time on this & the trailer; very impressive. I’ll be checking this out the next time I’m on. Great work!

What a job mate! As stated, clearly alot of time and effort put into this… great job and thanks for sharing.,

So I gave this a try & it would seem I was the first based on the usage numbers. Very detailed & looks like it took a ton of effort so great job there. I did encounter some of the things you warned about & ended up having to back track a large part of it to find the correct route. I spent almost 20 minutes in total with it before finding the correct route to finish, but finally made the escape. Thanks for taking the time to create this, great effort :+1:t2:

Edit- nvm i just dont have any in S class, will upgrade and try again

Edit 2 - Took me 11 mins but i found all the batteries and escaped, very intricate layout!

20 minutes?! I am simultaneously honored that you’d spend that much time on it (I probably would have given up), and embarrassed that I made the route too obscure. I’ll give it a week and see what others say. I’ll likely add a few more checkpoints in the next iteration.

Thank you and others for your time and feedback.

UPDATE: I now understand what happened here. When your car gets re-set in Forza, it gets dropped from the sky. If there is a hard surface just above the reset point, like the roof or a floor above, your car will “land” there instead of the intended location. Unfortunately, I can’t fix this and adding more checkpoints won’t help. I do plan to open up the event for all vehicles, but I need to make a few adjustments first. I’ll provide an update when it is ready.
