Yeah calculation should be done on softs, but maybe not on 5% fuel, more like enough fuel to do short race
No, calculate based on optimal pace conditions, since PI is based on estimated laptime.
Find out how fast the car can possibly go, and balance the car based on that.
Tho on other side lighter cars have better tyre wear so… maybe on 5% fuel
Too much work to do
Tho there is way to improve OPEN multiplayer, all they have to do is to:
-Turn off fuel seetings and set it always to 100% [since u go whole race on one tank anyway]
-Turn off tyre wear to balance out cars [since u go whole race on one tyres anyway]
-Ban soft tyres from OPEN to balance out cars. [there can be specyfic race tyre compound that works only in open multiplayer (x4 faster tyre wear or something), that on dry have same pace as medium tyres, on wet same pace as wet tyres, so that its on par with street/sport tyres, and just lock tyre choice to this compound in OPEN multiplayer]
Tyre wear and soft tyres in open multiplayer just make game totaly unbalanced, since meta cars can easly do some races on soft tyres even in s class, while heavy cars struggle to finish races on medium tyres.
And then have rivals with minimum fuel.
There should just always be an option to set race length to short, medium, long in career mode. This way everybody can play the game they want.
Very short -75% length
Shorter -50% length
Short -25% length
Medium default length
Long +25% length
Longer +50% length
Very long +75% length
Ultra long +100% length
Extreme long +150% length
Maximum +200% length
Or come up with better options.
And for the endurance series we should have earned multiple cars as price cars, it should be a minimum of 2 but 3 would be better.
And one more thing, maybe on Nordschleife we should be able to complete the training at half the track length already by pressing D-Pad right, this way we don’t have to finish it and still can complete the challenge. It’s annoying having to do a full lap if the actual race also is only like 2-3 it’s a bad ratio.
if only i could set all races to Ultra short, and speed run them to unlock these fomo cars <3
I have an Idea: add advanced freeplay options to the career mode.
Open tour it is. They need to start to fatten up these updates because they are very very light on content and rewards!
After seeing all those rewarc car questions I can only say one thing.
Get. Rid. Of. Reward. Car. Exclusivity.
I can’t imagine how somebody at Turn 10 can possibly imagine that people want to miss a car when they are not able to play the game or when they buy the game later after release.
Imagine you buy a game after a year and the game tells you “Well, I indeed have 500 cars but I only let you play with 460 of them…”
You gotta give us an actual career mode at some point. Driving for hours in 8 races over an entire month just to receive 1 car which can’t be obtained ever again after this Tour is pure evil.
FM7 had a similar feature, they should improve and expand that feature. Some drivers just don’t have the focus for a 30 min race, while other want real challenge and push their endurance capabilities.
eg. Project Cars 2 fixed this issue by giving the option to set the race timer to anything between short minute long races and many hours.
Well I actually prefer 8 long races over 16-20 medium races, I can just put auto drive, and watch something on yt. (Im glad that u don’t have to win these races …)
Well I did legit finish 6 of them xd but last 2 was just too much for me.
I never really liked Sebring. It’s just too flat, too grey, and doesn’t have any stand out feature as far as I’m concerned. But it’s not an indictment on the implementation of the track.
The Porsche 963 pack is shameful. Either it’s a free promotional content forever, or it’s paid DLC. You can’t have it both ways. And if it’s paid DLC, pricing has to be consistent. There is no justification for this being more expensive than other DLC cars.
The featured tour highlighted a few issues:
- AI difficulty is very inconsistent. Some races were extremely easy. Some races were really not.
- AI isn’t affect by tyre wear, which is extremely unfair.
- Variable weather just doesn’t work when the game gives you zero indication of when you should switch to wet or dry tyres.
- AI can’t handle backmarkers, and that takes away some of the challenge.
- The game gives no indication how long tyres will last. You can’t really form a tyre strategy when you’re flying blind.
- Career is sorely missing the ability to modify the length of races.
- Someone should tell the devs there is dedicated multi-group race options in the game, that allow you to see which car are in which group, and your position in the group.
Still, for the most part, it was pretty fun, and there was some good racing to be had regardless.
And this feedback wouldn’t be complete without reminding you that featured tours need to stay for good, and prize cars need to remain available permanently.
Im still waiting on more content for Freeplay.
I dislike bein forced to unlock cars instead of getting them with the update or DLC, and even worse when its time restricted. I did however enjoy the featured career with the multiclass endurance racing. Challenge The Grid gave me personal freedom to start wherever I wanted, wich made this chore more fun.
The new cars are meh, as I’m only into production racing. I’m not complaining, as the more cars the merrier. 3 new cars is rather too few per month.
In reality, although the updates are greatly appreciated and it is understood that having the game completely complete and corrected will take time, there is the feeling that very little is being done, corrections are made to errors that are not as critical as others. and there is no satisfactory progress, in my personal opinion, perhaps if they could focus more on the errors of the multiplayer mode such as penalties and balance of car performance it would be more rewarding, the turbo sound seems absent, the game performance in The track with RT and medium graphics consumes 70w on my graphics card but in the cutscenes and pits it exceeds 180w of energy.
For me, these errors are the most important, the rest can come little by little.
A couple of points for improvement:
- The lack of new cars (only 3) makes this update feel a bit empty. There’s so many amazing cars that fit each of the racing classes that are featured in this update, I would’ve expected atleast some to be new instead of using existing cars for spotlights.
- I really like the idea of endurance races in career, but the execution can be better. 45 minutes 8 times is a long time just to receive the reward car, I think 30 would’ve felt better. The main problem though was the AI, unaffected by tyre wear and weather (rain at Brands Hatch), they were not great to race with.
- The Open Series still feels short, 1 or 2 more laps on the races makes it feel more like an actual race.
- The endurace races in multiplayer are great, if you don’t get an early race end that is.
- The end of race/reward screen crashes are really annoying. Especially if you just finish an endurance race of 45 minutes and this doesn’t save (happened twice).
- The endurance races will probably disappear from career which is a shame. These unique races really added something new to career. Please just leave this tour as a permanent series.
Positives:
- Endurance races. My favourite branch of motorsport, a great addition (that could/should’ve been there from the start).
- Sebring. A great track, maybe a bit flat (what do you expect of a former airfield), but the layout is fun to drive.
- The colours of the game feel better with HDR, I like these changes!
- Although not part of the update, the Ginetta G40 Jr is still the best car in the game! It also works great with the endurance races.
Yup pretty nailed it. Regarding the FOMO card, I actually don’t mind unicorn cars, as long as they’re made available in future events at some point. TBH there’s only been a couple which are worth having anyway. I think I’ve only driven the chevron and that old 911 out of the career. They’ve all been mid except the Valkyrie, which is just stupid anyway. Far more important issues to get sorted.
Keep the content in, especially this series as it’s been by far the best and repayable
