I’m not a stickler for engine sounds or car authenticity but I do care about how the game should operate for best user experience. Right now I have 3 main points:
Please fix the driving view changing to “in car” after exiting the tuning menu during multiplayer practice. I start full car view and it changes in that situation.
Speaking of multiplayer, Nordschleife should have been automatically included in this. I think a lot of people are extremely annoyed they can’t publicly compete on it. Quite frankly it’s boring in single player mode only. Why was this ignored?
End race is boring as hell waiting for other cars to finish while we wait in the results screen. Forza 2 I remember being able to watch the other cars drive until the race was over. That was a cool feature. Removing it was a step backwards in keeping things interesting for the player base.
Well, Nyrre track is ok but usually when it is in driving games I drive it just few times if it is in SP races… so fine but not much more. New career races are just ok but still just few random tracks with random cars that try to make “theme”… I feel that is not very good to create attachment… I drive those races but it does not create much emotions… it just feels thin…
Car pass cars are just bad, they feel recycled and I have no use for “race cars” and even career does not have any use for them? Car pass cars should be extraordinary, not old stock… but as car pass is decided long time ago there is nothing that could help.
Game fixes in general (gfx, bugs) are good thing but it feels they come too slowly… there is so much to do to get game in line what Forza 7 offered… not sure if it can happen, in one year, few track, few cars, that is nothing. SP career is thin and it does not carry far… I’m slowly playing few SP races per week and carees starts to dry out… not sure if I bother to drive random monthly SP content much more, perhaps one month more and then game is done.
I’ve been enjoying the game until I had a particular race at Kyalami. I got penalized so much that I dropped from a S safety rating to a B. Every incident in that race I didn’t initiate yet I was receiving penalties for every bit of contact that was done. I recorded a few of those incidents on my Xbox cause I was seriously fuming. I like the harsher penalty system because it makes the dirty drivers actually get called out for the way they drive. I’d also like to add that if we have forza gt and touring permanently that we have up to date cars? We are missing out on so many vehicles that teams are actually racing right now. Plus more tracks please, I’d love to have Road Atlanta, Sebring, Mount Panorama, Monza etc
Please add longer races - maybe call it an Endurance series. There have only ever been short and medium GT races. Give some longer ones a try and see if people like it.
First of all, I would like to drop a Thank You for this great patch.
Second, I would love to race every single event you put in the game, but I simply don’t have enough time to do that, multiplayer, play with friends… I have not touched the ringer tour and I will love to play it in the future.
Why you can’t add these events to the career mode permanently? I could not just rush to play something I know i cannot finish.
Just add way more tracks very soon, add the option to choose from short/medium/long race length, give us more to do in career and finally give us the freedom with a button to turn the car lights on/off by ourselves!
The Nordschleife was a necessary addition, and it’s been pretty good. The AI can’t handle it (though haven’t retried since Update 6), but it’s great for rivals. This track however highlights the importance of race-preparation which, up until a week ago, required inordinate amount of grinding.
I’m not sure if I tested this 2020 TT RS or the other one in the Audi featured series. Either way, I guess it was fine.
I will say though, I do not care one bit to try the RS7. It’s yet another Audi that looks indistinguishible from every other Audi. There are more interesting cars to add, even just from the backlog of FM7 and FH5, that you probably have the rights, model and handling data for. Like DS 23 when?
As with every previous update, the only thing I have to say about the featured and open tour is that time-limited content is shameful. Leave featured tours permanently, don’t remove reward cars.
Beyond all that, not a lot of improvement has been made. The skip practice button is welcome, but I’m still dealing with massive frame drops, livery editor is still straight from FM7, still no practice and challenge the grid in free play.
The penalty system needs work why if people ran into you and you get the penalty, why when people are spone out they are not ghosted you ran into them and get a 5 sec penalty, people rejoinng the race after being spone out are not ghosted and they rejoin like crazy ram into you and you get the penalty all of this is just dumb fix it is the only thing you guys have to do nobody ask for music for the menu. Fix the important things in the game for god sake
In general the performance boost on PC was the most important “feature” in Update 5, it was literally a game-changer for me (too bad it didn’t affect everyone).
I was worried about the game performance at Nordschleife but it runs smoothly and looks really well (despite things like wrong curbs) so I can finally stop crying about barebones track list in the game (but keep them coming please, many must-haves are still missing)
As for cars:
BMW M2 '23, Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS, and Porsche 911 RSR '74 were brilliant additions alongside Nordschleife (although the latter came with rubbish settings and needed some serious tweaking).
Too bad we didn’t get any new Mercedes for AMG Showdown, there are plenty of existing models to return from this brand (especially the AMG CLK GTR). I think better choices than RS 7 '13 and 911 Turbo S '14 could be made also for Audi and Porsche.
I like Trans Am cars from the Car Pass, no other game I can think of has this class (not even iRacing). I just wish they had separate division so that I could easily run races using only them.
Lotus Type 35 is another brilliant classic car, now I’d like to have Porsche 804 back to put it against something on fairly similar power level
But there is also the 2020 Audi TT RS… I have no idea why was this car added to the game alongside the nearly identical 2018 Audi TT RS, especially as DLC content. Any returning FM4-era car would be much better, even Smart
All in all it was a decent update and with fixes introduced with Update 6 I’m once again starting to feel really optimistic about the future of Forza Motorsport. Keep up the good work, T10
The “FOMO” (fear of missing out) car rewards need to stop being a thing. It’s so unpleasant having to drive against the AI to get cars for later use in private organized multiplayer.
Time-gated content “rewards” have no place in a game that costs real money to obtain. Buying a game late should not bar you from obtaining objectively needed cars, such as the ARX-05 or the 718 GT4.
I love that the game is getting constant updates and that the forza team is listening to consumer feedback. Updating the car progression system was definitely a big step in the right direction. With that being said and i know i am not the only one thinking this, WE NEED MORE TRACKS! i miss so many of the good ones from forza 6 and 7. Road atlanta, the alps, Prauge, Long beach, Sonoma, Sebring, Rio, Monza, and brands hatch are all worthy tracks that deserve to be in the game so please add some!
Your work is getting better. Let’s not lose momentum with this upward trend. Please make sure car sounds are accurate. Are Reward Cars that expire ever coming back around?
Please, please, please, improve the penalties assigned when there’s a crash.
Too many times you get penalized for no reason (one example is when someone crashes into you because of wrong braking point but you are penalized for no reason). The overrall penalty system is very disappointing and ruining the experience, especially in multiplayer.
Wow, “no opinion, haven’t experienced this content” is number one and top 3 for way too many of these polls! Hopefully they can take that into account, along with the player count to figure out that the game needs some big changes. I’m one of the suckers that paid for vip, but was so disappointed I deleted after second update and just keep tabs to see if the changes I need happen. Good luck T10, pay attention to these polls, and hire some full time people to help👍
