Pointless complaints and my love/hate relationship with this game.

Okay, so I’ve been out of the Xbox world for some time now, after playing Forza 4 and Horizon 1 forever I ditched my 360. I intended to get the One on launch day or soon after for Forza 5 but after playing it at a friends house and being let down by it I decided to wait.

With 6 releasing in a week I just picked up a One finally the other day, and a couple of games. One of which being this game, Horizon 2.

Overall, I really really love this game, it’s beautiful. And incredibly fun. I guess that’s why I say my complaints are pointless rambling, but oh my GOD these issues drive me so freaking insane sometimes, I just had to vent. I apologize in advance.

It’s usual complaints. Really it’s not even anything genuinely WRONG with the game, but with my playstyle and preferences, I fight with these things.

Number one. I like to race as realistically as possible. No assists, simulation steering, damage, etc. This is already a bad idea for this game, but when it comes to winning races in hypercars that are WAY TOO SHORT, it is freaking impossible damn near it to catch 1st place cars, which inexplicably run off and leave the pack for whatever reason, which I’m forced to plow my freaking way through because they’re constantly in the way and driving like idiots.

Advice: If you are going to make damage an option, don’t force us to do ridiculous ass races like taking sports cars off road. WTF, Turn 10? Really.

Again, I still think it’s fun, but don’t give us the option to have damage or hard level drivatars if I’m going to have to restart a race 37 times just to finish second place.

Also kinda seems a lot like ALL other cars except me are made of lead and have magical infinite grip tires.

Just… stuff like that. I don’t expect any of you guys to agree with me or even acknowledge my stupid arguments… I just had to get it out. It’s a wonderful game, but some of these things are just really, REALLY dumb flaws that should never have happened, IMO.

P.S.: When are you guys going to acknowledge more Ford muscle cars besides the damn Mustangs? For God’s sake that’s like the least interesting Ford car from the 60s.

Also crossing my fingers that you’ll spend a LOT more time on the drag racing aspect for Forza 6, since every single game it’s been in so far it has been… insulting.

Okay. Rant over. I’m sorry, you guys can throw things at me now. Lol. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hahahaha.

Sigh… I really shouldn’t complain I suppose. The main game series is where I belong but I’ve been passing the time with H2.

The more I play this game, the more I want to continue to play this game. I don’t have too many complaints other than the playground games being beyond stupid (for me), and too many S2 road trips. The Main series is something I used to get lost in. Not sure now, if that will be the case. I like the play-ability of this game so much. I see people complain about the Cross Country stuff but that comes with experience and tuning. First game I bought for this system, still have the other game I bought in the wrapper, returned FM5 without playing it (all in the same day), can’t put it down. While I will bounce back and forth to another game or two…this game, for me, is the best driver I’ve played to date. I appreciate the snot out of the main series for sure. When I think FUN though, this is what I imagined. Hope FH3 has some minor tweaks, and bigger tracks.

Agreed. Really, I guess, again, I’m a little over enthusiastic about my complaints. Like I said above really it’s not as much to do with the game itself as it is my playstyle and what I’ve come to expect from Forza. I would prefer legit rally races with cars that are meant to go off road racing. The majority of people probably do think it’s a blast to take an M3 or a Mustang off road through fields and off of small cliffs, but it doesn’t appeal to me at all because it just isn’t realistic. I think it would be more tolerable for me if it were actually MORE arcade-ish in that area. It’s like they’re stuck in the middle of realism and arcade with the cross country races and it clashes. Like I saw someone else say, if you’re gonna have something unrealistic, you may as well go all the way with it. It’s discouraging when I actually manage to land on all four wheels from a huge jump, but I still end up losing because it damages my engine.

I’ve just been turning the drivatar difficulty all the way down for these races so it will actually be a little fun, but then it still irritates me yet again when I finish the race and don’t get as much money from it.

But, I will say that I still think this game is a fair improvement over the first one, so overall I still love it.

I guess I need to pick up a copy of 5, even though I was disappointed with it… I could pile some cars in my garage to add to the already millions of dollars I’m going to get when I boot up Forza 6. Bwahahaha

I don’t think there are any rewards for having played Forza 2 unfortunately, but Forza 3 is the only one (aside from the very first game) that I haven’t played. But Forza 4 and Horizon 1 I spent countless hours on, and should be getting at least 10 million from my efforts on them, if not more. Just a few more days…

Like PPi, I’ve never really had a problem with the CC races. Storm Island however, some of those are tough! LOVE it! I need a challenge! I see what you’re saying about the stuck in the middle thing for sure. Some people indeed like taking road cars into the fields. We can all thank GTA V for evolutionizing that one I think. I do like the idea that I can take pretty much any car in this game, and tune it to be competitive online.
