Please for the love of all that is holy...

I am aware that this is an arcade racer and the average target market are all much younger than I am, and I accept that.

Now with that being said, I would like to rant a little.

This game is great, bar none, the best racer on the Xbox one yet so far and probably will stay that way. However, I get very very tired of the shenanigans of the other drivers online. I almost always get punted off the track by some SUV at the first corner, then I can usually catch up, and when I try to pass someone I get blocked and pushed into a wall. Again, I can usually catch up. Not to toot my own horn but I am a half decent driver and I have some seriously fast tunes I’ve been building myself. (I’ve got a bright red Alfa 33 Stradale tuned for A Class and a blue and white Mercury Coupe for B class and if you have raced against either one of them, you’ll know I’m not completely full of of it)

And after I have caught up for the second time in a THREE MINUTE RACE someone else gets the bright idea to block me. So I get defensive and put them into a wall because at this point my clothes have gotten really tight and my skin is turning green and the buttons on the controller start to seem oh so small in my hands. Then I hear some guy who sounds like Chewbacca’s drunk sister come on his microphone to cuss me out and there really isn’t anything I can do about it. So we move on to the next race and start the cycle all over again.

Oh what I wouldn’t do for a clean lobby or an active club that races the middle classes and tries to be fair. I know no one is perfect and I know that every game has a learning curve but the stuff that happens in online road trips is just absolutely bonkers.

This has been a classic gripe of all players of the Forza games since xbox live was invented so I’m not uncovering some deep insights here, but if anyone has a club that has an opening who are active fairly regularly I would love to be a part of it. I have been in Tier one and two every week in my club ladder but no one else is very active anymore.

Report those people: Xbox Support

How to report a game player for bad conduct

To report a gamer from within a game, select his or her gamertag, and then report the player from within his or her profile.

You can also report a gamer for bad conduct even if he or she is no longer in the game. Here’s how:
1.Press the Xbox button on your controller.
2.Go to the Friends hub on the right and select the Friends tile.
3.Go to Change view at the top of the screen and select Recent players from the drop-down menu.
4.Select the gamertag, select Report or block, and then select Report from the list.
5.Select the reason that you want to report the player.

Thank you for the info Snowowl, I actually had not yet figured out how to block and avoid players on the One. and this will help a little for sure but it seems that every time I race online someone blocks a pass or runs me into a wall and its never the same person or the same club.

Reporting the player to Microsoft seems a little bit harsh. Although I agree that finding clean racers would enhance the online experience massively. I feel that as this is more of an arcade style game your gonna have to expect contact. That said there are some prize plums out there and not just the kids either!

You don’t necessarily need to report them. You can simply “block” them so you won’t be put in games with them.

For the first 2 weeks I found good racers in road trips and now I mostly go in private freeroam or public freeroam because of all the wreckers. Plus since people think all the wreckers are in SUV’s I can’t use my Jeep Cherokee in B-class when it is my best B-class

I don’t know what time zone you’re in, but if you can make 9pm New York time on Tuesdays and Wednesdays you might like this: Clean Racing Series

I have used snow’s advice for FM5. It made a huge difference for my experience. I have a different approach to online rias trips that works for me. I still win in lobbies like that except if there is someone who is exceptionally fast and able to stay in front and earn good xp. I race based on starting position and my car characteristics. If i accelerate faster than the group I do so and stay out in front earning xp. If i am being rundown by a tag team club or racer who is bumpimg everyone i slow down stay atbthe back and drift like crazy but stay close so I can finish. I don’t win every individual race but I win the majority of the xp championships I play. Strategy works great for me but my online win percentage takes a hit. What’s funny is listening to those individuals get upset when I win the championship but lost all the races.

It is all about the xp. I prefer to win eaxh race and the xp championship but it doesn’t always happen that way.

It frustrates me sometimes and I have stooped to the other guys level a few times to earn payback.

Also my online lobby cars tend to be set up as heavy behemoths. Usually 3500-4000 pounds. I find it takes a harder hit to loose my skill chain and it is harder for other racers to bump me off course. In short I build road warriors for online and time attack cars for rivals.

Of course to each their own and my strategy may not be for you if you want all clean races and still have fun. I realize at this stage with the games popularity its difficult tobdo that so I changed the way I play and I still have fun.

So I’m okay with it and if its a really bad group I quit during the drive to the next race.

Top advice Crucian! I’m going to try using the xp route with some of my heavier cars/trucks. Like I said earlier this is a arcade style game and doesn’t take itself too seriously so I think that’s how us gamers should approach it to. Better than the soulless experience F5 was/is.

Your welcome. Thing is to find what works best for you so you can enjoy the game. KalBoyd also gave great advice for scheduled racing.

Thats why you have to find a few people that race clean if you want add me to youre friends list i race as clean as possible")

This is precisely why I started my own club [40+] for us gamers over 40 yrs old…we’re generally more patient and courteous when it comes to online racing. I hold members-only races in a private lobby every Sunday.

Report people for blocking you, com’on be serious… this is Horizon, not Motorsport.

I kinda agree with you; the game has got a PG 3 rating meaning it is suitable to play for humans from 3 years old and up. Chances of meeting someone that old/young online are slim but if it happens, they might indeed be not as proficient on racing as some of the other members here.

Reporting others for ramming is too much I agree. However some people/mutants seem to have practiced this dark art and are only interested in winding others up.
Perhaps there should be a dedicated destruction derby mode for their kind?
And 3 yr olds should know better! I blame the parents

Nice to know. Trouble is you could spend more time blocking than driving! Oh hang on that was the problem in the first place.
How about dlc rocket launchers to attach to the bonnet?
