Please nerf the drift requirements in Forzathon live events

The road ones are okay but my god that gravel road one in the mountain is painful. I did it with 4 people then we failed the last bit because they couldn’t drift at all and kept flinging themselves off the edge.

See? That is what I consider a “Good” loss where it forces a person to learn the cars and the roads to win vs just an extensive grind. Not to go for max, but going for clean should be the key. Clean approach to danger zones, clean times through traps, clean drifts. If peeps don’t run clean you lose and make some much more technical like the triple hairpin speed zone.

I always check before the Forzathon begins that there are a lot of people in the serve so I don’t get stuck with 2 or 3 others, and then we fail.

I also started doing this. At the 5 minute mark I check to see if at least 5 people are there, if not I will find a new room fast. Its so much fun to have 10 or more doing the challenges. Everything gets done so fast

Scorewise, drifting in FH4 seems harder than in FH3 to me. In FH3 it sufficed to do fast power slides in AWD to get 3-star-worthy scores. In FH4 that won’t get you past two stars for most drift zones.

Forzathon Life is a bit of a gamble in that aspect, as it’s a team effort, especially in 3rd round. Many players don’t switch to traction off or have a drift car they would change to. So they slide back and forth inefficiently, maybe scratching out 30-40k points where a decent drifter gets the triple the numbers.

And who’s to blame if he’s not willing to struggle 10 minutes with questionable success fro 10-20 Forza points?

The only thing you can try to do is plug in a mic and explain how to drift better (if someone cares to listen).

Drifting for dummies (like me):
Get a high power, high torgue AWD. Change traction to off and shift to manual. Shift to 2nd gear or 3rd and just stay there, do the rest with throttle. If the car is powerful enough it can uphold the drifting after a hard turn or handbreak, and the AWD gives better control. Works perfectly for 3-Star-zones (not for the competition at the tops)

“And who’s to blame if he’s not willing to struggle 10 minutes with questionable success fro 10-20 Forza points?”

That would be the programmer who worked on the mechanics behind the aspect of gameplay for making a system that player doesnt find entertaining.

That can be a good thing because you cannot please every person and attempting to satisfy one will dissatisfy another in most cases. However, your solution of “Get on voice, use specific cars” doesnt fly if they dont like that car or dont like drifting… Or like me, tune their cars for racing so now good sweeping drifts in the car are more difficult than default tunes, specially on the blacktop.

The topic wasnt the three starring of drifts, but that it shouldnt be mandatory to do so for the forzathons for so much time to get so little if a third round drift. A big part of that is what a forzathon is for players. It is a party. Peeps come to show off and I bet most see one person and try to beat them. Tossing in a long grind is devaluing.

Like exampled before, a lower playercount third round drift zone takes more grind time than running “Marathon” Which is why a re-evaluation of how it sets points and how much would benefit the forzathon gameplay.

Three star drifting wasn’t my point but that most don’t have a clue about drifting and skip it altogether for that very reason, independent of their affinity towards drifting in general.

Personally, I don’t like drifting in the game (although I like to watch it), I prefer rally. Drifting is but a waste of good tires to me. Still I managed to find a very lazy setup to beat all 3-star-zones and therefore an effortless way to contribute to the Forzathon Life drifts, too.

Sadly, the game does a poor job explaining how to drift well to the uninitiated/uninterested nor does it allow big scores in automatic.

Scaling must be the solution
That goes beyond drifting. If you show up late and have to solo, why are you forced to generate the same amount of points as a bunch of people?

I disagree on the party aspect (especially with the ghosted cars), it’s but a chore and that’s how the farmers treat it. Fast travel last minute, pick the right car for a challenge, be done in 3-6 minutes (if same-minded drivers are along). 5 minutes for 1.5 wheel spins and a little distraction is decent. Beyond those 5 minutes, you’re better off doing different stuff.
