I’m sad that it has to come to this but the multiplayer lobbies have not cleaned up, and there is no system in place. People will get tired of the game much quicker like this, when you are getting purposely slammed into by people constantly. It’s the best Forza by far, but the worst online multiplayer behavior in terms of just simply rude and inconsiderate people. Compounding the problem are the wreckers tending to be on the inexperienced side and of course and therefore using TCS/STM and making it that much more upsetting when they wipe you out and harder to deal with.
Racing is like a team sport people. All it takes is one bad apple or people continually being inconsiderate and it will come back to you and end up affecting the entire lobby of people short of first place. Remember the first step is being considerate to other racers and remembering this isn’t a first person shooter. It takes work on everyone’s part for it to be a mutually fun event.
A couple tips for people are 1) you can’t win the race on the first turn but you can loose it 2) on the first turn if you are confident enough to pass, concentrate on passing one car at a time. Don’t try to get past 5 cars because you see the spot in front of the 5th guy, don’t get ahead of yourself. This is the problem. People tend to see that hole way up front and ignore the fact they aren’t getting by the other cars cleanly and a wreck happens. 1 car at a time people.
Please give us a way out with EXPERT LOBBIES FOR EACH CLASS, Damage, no stm/tcs!!!
Yes, please. I’m tired of getting a DNF in 5th place, because of all the awesome people setting 5+ seconds a lap faster than the rest of us. I wanna finish too.
I’m a relatively new Forza 5 user but purchased the xbox one exclusively for this game and made the “investment” in the 400 dollar Thrustmaster wheel. Have been practicing diligently and am improving with time; I can win races consistently in career mode against above average drivatar competitors but have found multiplayer to be an exercise in futility and frustration. I can’t find a way to get through the first corner without someone slamming into me, and I’m not brake checking folks, I’m just slowing to a reasonable speed to enter the corner. As a result, I spend nearly all my time trying to make up the places I lost (which can admittedly be fun) but it seems as if it’s inevitable that someone I pass cleanly will take offense and slam.
I can deal with normal accidents (Guy behind me didn’t slow down in time, someone trying to pass me in a corner and accidentally bumps in to me a little, driver in front of me over brakes when not necessary and I have to swerve to try not to hit them or do). The SUV ramming though is just awful. I was in a lobby recently and there were THREE people doing it, there was only maybe 9 of us to start!
These big SUV’s with full assists and a tune setup for power and no handling are just getting quite silly. They plow through and bounce off everything. They never win because they can’t catch the guys that started at the front of the pack but those of us who don’t start at the front have to fight to try to get by the messes and then spend the rest of the track trying to catch 1-2 people that have a giant lead thanks to the clowns.
I understand what you are wanting, but you would still have to regulate somehow the people entering the lobby. You can have an “Expert” room, but still have people purposely causing wrecks. Unfortunately, online will always be this way. You just can’t control everyone in the room. You just have to hope for the best and see if you get a room with considerate drivers that just want to race. I have been racing online for a while and so I have vowed to never get frustrated. And for the most part I don’t. I guess I’m just too easy going. I don’t really care.
Sadly it will always be this way. On average you will have:
2-3 guys who can race and drive fast
4-5 guys who can race at medium pace
4-5 guys who are slower and prone to accidents
2-3 guys who are out to ruin peoples races
The issue appears that there are far more inexperienced players in this Forza than on others. New players will think “Oh I love a VW Golf so I will stick loads of power in it and race in S class”, of course this is doomed to failure at the first corner. Tuning a car is all about balance and what you can handle, until people learn that then there will be accidents.
Another point is the slower players who join in are racing against guys who have played this for YEARS! and when they cannot compete they resort to taking cars out when they get lapped.
Other players are the idiots of the game who CANNOT accept being overtaken or anything. Last night for example I was overtaking a guy at Sebring club, and I will race as fair and as clean as I can, and started to pass him on a straight only for him to wait for me to get alongside and he punted me into a wall, sent me into a roll and put me last. Within 2 laps I had caught him again and yes…2 wrongs don’t make a right but I made sure he was picking tyres out his teeth for weeks and went on to win the race.
Make a level 200+ lobby or something, I get taken out at nearly every single hopper I join. It’s not even racing, it feels more like dodging moving obstacles.
