Playground do something with Bone shaker!

2:28.807,made it under 29

i better dont post my build, the settings are…hmm, special,i guess jvvyyy settings are going in the same direction, but dont know, using a power build with smallest front tires, second largest backtires and min aero…

Really do wonder if this car will ever get fixed or if PG is happy having it slowly gnaw away at the marrow of FH4.

Honestly the thing that frustrates me most is the ridiculous performance this car has in FFR. You can just cut fully across the country because it has infinite grip and basically no chance of spinning or flipping due to it’s ridiculously low centre of gravity. Don’t even need rally tires for this either.

What reason do they really have to do so? They responded to lack of player participation in unpopular events by making those events a mandatory part of the reward cycle; if online play drops because players aren’t having fun, they’re as likely to set a minimum requirement for online adventures as they are to actually try and make those adventures a more enjoyable experience.

To be honest, I don’t blame the developers for this. I’m sure their goal is to make a game they can be proud of; it’s what most creators want in the end. The people financing that passion often have different priorities and rarely consider player enjoyment to be paramount; if one path will make players happy and another will make the studio more money, there’s really no question which directive will be passed down to the coders.

I hate having these awful playground games events rammed down our throats the problem isn’t we can’t find them or nobody is playing them, the problem is they are bloody aweful and unenjoyable

Turn10 / PG for the love of God nerf this car or remove it from the online gameplay. This ‘car’ is nothing more than a 4-wheeled cancerous spawn of satan for the whole ranked community as is the Freeroam Rush game mode.

In A800 ranked gameplay you get a choice of TWO cars, yes TWO out of like 650 that are in the whole game - The BS or the Alfa Romeo TZ2 (the latter has a learning curve due to it’s weird cornering technique, from extreme oversteer to understeer, feels like the car is sliding while it’s not).
Anything else is just not as competitive, especially in terms of cornering. These two are running circles around any Mercedes, Chevrolet, Audi or BMW in the game. Cars that are technically lightyears ahead of those two.

It’s simply sad to see 2-3 GT-R’s or even BMW M3’s occupating the few last places every race.

If you have 2 cars dominating the whole ranking you know something is simply not right in terms of vehicle balance and the fix is easy as 1-2-3 = remove power / increase weight of both cars and in terms of the BS - move the centre of mass. Same counts for cars like the AR 33 Stradale or overall the pickup class that’s able to outrun a McLaren in a straight line (For example my S1 900 Toyota Baja does 400km/h+ while still being a top pace offroad racecar, that’s not right).

The TZ2 isn’t one of the 2 best A class cars. I’ve been going through my garage from A-Z … slowly … and I think the TZ2, in any form, isn’t one of the top 3 cars in A class just for manufacturers that alphabetically come between Abarth and Aston Martin, let alone all the cars. The Alfa 33 Stradale is much better than the TZ2 in both speed and handling. The 65 Guilia Sprint GTA laps most tracks faster. I think I’m forgetting at least one at the moment. And the Shelby Daytona is definitely better. Not that the TZ2 isn’t pretty good, because it is, it’s just not at the top of A class. Or top 2.

And about the Boneshaker:

In my first ranked qualifying, I took the TZ2 and there was a league 8 in a Boneshaker and a league 9 in a Daytona in the game. The first race was at Broadway Village Circuit, or whatever the name is. I test cars there. I got through the demolition derby at the start and took the lead. Near the end of the 2nd lap, the Boneshaker was on my tail so I let him by and then followed …

… I was doing 49.8’s and 49.9’s, which is close to the limit of what the TZ2 runs there. I kept the on the Boneshaker’s bumper and his best lap was 49.6. But watching him drive … he missed every apex of every turn. It was just ugly, ugly, ugly and he was no where near getting the best out of the Boneshaker. I ran very low 53’s at the circuit near the beach castle (forget the name) in a Boneshaker … and the TZ2 is more than 3 seconds slower there. Similar courses, too.

It was pretty clear to me that this guy’s rank was all about picking an overpowered car, that is so overpowered that it can beat a pretty good car like the TZ2 being driven well, even when the Boneshaker is missing every apex and is probably seconds, plural, off the ideal pace.

Not a fan of the Boneshaker in any case, but making it so dominant in AWD form just really sucks.

Horses for courses. The Baja handles like a pig compared to a McLaren. It’s horrible to use on the road.

But still, my point is that an old Baja/Dakar truck with tools/tyres on it’s back is going 400km/h…it’s a b*tch to win against in offroad/freeroam rush.
People are taking RAM Rebel TRX’es or Raptors to road racing and still end up at the upper part of the list.

Boneshaker is able to launch on snow with no wheelspin…without offroad tyres. So far it’s the only vehicle I know that can do that. It’s unbeatable on snow.
Most of every high ranked player I’ve encountered was running either BS, TZ2, 33 or the Shelby Daytona, rarely seen a GTA.

I’ve done low 49’s at Broadway Village Circuit in a GTA … around 44 flat at Moorhead Windfarm Circuit. It’s usable online … but when almost anybody can jump in a Boneshaker and get a high rank and keep the crashing behind them, I’m probably a rare idiot trying to go through all the cars. And it’s slow going.

Edit: Looking back at my spreadsheet(Edit: and by spreadsheet I mean hand written scratchings of times), I see that TZ2 can do sub-49.5 at BVC in summer. I think I misstated what it can do there. The 33 can do high 48’s.

I’ve just started leaving A class ranked racing whenever the opposing team is full of them. Doesn’t matter if I’m better than they are or not, I can never keep up, and I’d rather not waste my time racing them.

Are there any cars that can compete with them without being completely cancerous?

Edit: I’ll even swallow my opinion on AWD swapping cars that aren’t AWD by default and do that if I need to. Anything to be able to compete with the BS.

Hm,depends on the tracks…but on overall,no there is no car really a threat in a 800 against the bone shaker.

The best thing about it…1 Tune fits nearly all( my ranked tune works for all races(dirt/street),exept that it struggles on winter in combination with dirt…).

Immo the best bets against the BS are the Shelby Daytona and the Alpha TZ2.

Some pure Powerbuilds may work also on a few tracks, but wont be fun to drive…

I’ll have a crack with the Daytona and the Alfa, cheers. I really wish PG would do something about the Boneshaker, in any other class, I can usually drive what I enjoy driving, meta or not, and still be competitive, but that’s never the case in A class with road racing.

I’m curious, is the boneshaker only OP in A 800 or is it also OP in S1 900?

The former.

I’m not keen on the idea of changing the performance of cars once the game has been released, as it would invalidate the testing work people have done. It already takes a crazy amount of time to tune every car to every class and test on lots of tracks, it would become impossible if the whole thing was a moving target.

If the BS was nerfed, then the Daytona would be miles faster than anything else for some tracks. And while people focus on the BS, my testing says there are other class and discipline combinations where one vehicle is very clearly better than anything else, it’s just that not as many people are aware of it.

For me, personally I am the opposite. Coming from an MMO background, to me there is nothing more fun than a big patch day where the meta gets shaken up and everybody is going crazy testing out new builds/combinations. But I can see the other point of view where it can be frustrating having extensive testing invalidated.

And if some car is way too overpower it’s invalidite healthy online experience (lol FH4 and healthy online) and for me healthier meta game is mutch more important than any works than people have been working on tunes. I have been tested bunch of cars and i have not see yet any other car being 2s or faster in bunch of different circuits and if some car is over 2s faster than any other car then it should be nerfed.

S1 900 has more strong cars like the Hoonigan Escort, Koenigsegg CC8S or the Viper ACR '08…and the 33 stradale.

Overall nothing will touch the Bone Shaker as it’s also totally overpowered on dirt and snow tracks. Just don’t take it cross country because it hates water. On Dirt/Snow you can’t make it spin out unless you start swinging it’s back on purpose.
So far other strong contenders in A800 are Shelby Daytona, Alfa TZ2 and maybe the old GT40 MK1.

In general what you’re after is - low profile, lightweight, small and as much power as possible.

I have to disagree there. If a car is so overpowered that it’s not fun to race against, then it needs to be nerfed. It ruins A class racing at this point, and not nerfing it will only keep it that way. I never had any trouble against the Daytona when that was the meta A class car, still don’t. It wasn’t OP like the Bone Shaker is, and while it made me cringe a bit seeing it so often, I could still drive what I enjoyed driving and beat them if I was actually better than they were.
